It's really annoying because I feel it every time I reach up to pull down the notification shade.

I think this indicates that Sprint sold a lot.more phones than anticipated and had to cut wirefly short to meet their own obligation. Wirefly orderers should have been concerned when they hit the order button but they should especially be concerned about the s 4 shortage.

Does anyone know if AT&T plans to have floor models of the HTC One available before April 19th? I'm basically ready to preorder at this point, but I'm not entirely comfortable dropping $200 or $300 without at least handling the device.
The store I stopped at today wasn't expecting any floor models, but I'm also not sure really sure how reliable the salesman I talked to was.

There were none in my store, not even a spot for it.
I just stopped by another store in my city (Tucson) and they didn't have an official floor model but they let me play with a phone they just got in today.
Damn, that was a nice piece of hardware. I might have to walk right back in with my credit card...

Yeah, now that the initial high has passed, I'm kinda grumpy that I have to wait another 10 days to play with it again.
Coming from a One X, the burst mode speed (one of my favorite features) is ridiculous. It took like 15 pictures in roughly 2 seconds.

I had the nexus 4 but gave it to my son since his phone is busted and not worth an insurance claim going back to the onexl has been hard lol never really noticed how much slower the xl is lol

Good to see another One XL migrant
I'll always have a special place in my heart for my One X, especially running CM10.1. It'll be a great backup phone to mess around with going forward...but man, the One was something else. I'm probably biased right now, of course, and reality will likely temper my feelings over time. Still, I'm not the kind of person to upgrade phones every year - I went from an iPhone 3G, to an iPhone 4, to a One X...but something (or everything) about the One made me change my mind.
I'm hoping the One will last me a long, long time though.

Apparently my store sucks. They didn't have one and didn't expect one until the 18th or so. Maybe I can have better luck at a different store...hmmmmmm...
My local store just got there's I'm drooling over it lol. Funny thing is while I was at the store I was offered a job as a sales rep .. In the 20 mins I was there I got 5 people to perorder the phone and not perorder the s4 (3 of which had s3) lol the manager was floored still debating on taking the job hard to give up 7 years at my job now.. Anyways I hope the 19th hurries lol

That's what I'm going off of is the rumors I've been reading. I'm new to HTC so I just got the dna less than a month ago. I asked the reps at the store if there was gonna be a newer HTC released this year and all of them didn't even know the S4 was coming out this year let alone provide info on the dna, haha

I would be surprised if they launched a DNA+ and gave it a smaller screen than the current DNA, such as is on the One. Verizon has to have something up their sleeve, but I have yet to see anything i really think is plausible speculation.

It's called being in sales, and there's a level of dishonesty that they can get away with.
It's really hard to sell an S3 or a DNA when someone believes a better phone is coming out in a month. That's a reasonable amount of time for people to put up with an old phone while waiting for the new hotness.

The goal of the salesperson in the store is to get you to sign a contract before you step out the door. That's it. They can't sell you something they don't have, therefore before a launch (or preorder) the next new phone doesn't exist in the salesperson's vocabulary.
As long as you realize the goal of the salesperson is to get you to sign a contract, then you're OK. Caveat emptor.
Personally I never set foot inside those stores.

Verizon confirmed there is an HTC phone coming out. The HTC DNA has its counterpart HTC Butterfly. What I've read when I look around for the next Verizon HTC phone is that there is a butterfly 2. The next DNA is rumored to keep a 5 inch screen and slightly better internals than the one. Its all rumors of course....

If I had one upgrade it would be the camera. The resolution is fine, but it is incapable of capturing images with any dynamic range. Any light sources turn into a giant white blob.

Incorrect. The dna has the S4 pro cpu and the one has the snapdragon 600.
If I'm not mistaken, the lcd technology is also different. The dna has an lcd 3 and I believe the one is different. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

If I am not mistaken they are both LCD3.
The One has a slightly sharper display due to it being 1080p on a 4.7 inch display as opposed to a 5 inch display. If memory serves me the One has 469ppi and the DNA has 441ppi.

Hmm no such problems.
I've gotten two Z1 Compact and both had the gap. One more than other.
I don't know if it is relatively normal or simply a not so good construction by Sony.
Has it been confirmed that the gap compromises the waterproof qualities of the phone or is it just sloppy construction??

I guess it's the construction. But I didn't pay my money for sloppy QC.. My front camera alignment is way off. The hole is nearly touching the glass edge

Actully, don`t care about the gaps, it`s just not quite exactly glued the glass, need to rotate counterclockwise just a little bit
Much more concerned about single speaker plaiyng when incoming calls
This is a fail of the fails!
This is a little worrying. But as with all new devices, there's release bugs.
Ordering my Z2 (Purple with any luck) in a couple of weeks when we have them available here in Australia. Hopefully the batches coming to us are a little more refined. The single speaker on calls should be a simple software update I would imagine. Same for 4K recording overheating, but hell, the power of such a small camera in a thin device, can't expect to record much more than a few minutes regardless.

How many of you ordered from T-Mobile and your S5 is on backorder? I ordered a Black one last night (after returning my M8) and it said in stock when I ordered, it finished processing and then I got an email this morning stating it was back ordered
Hopefully it ships soon, I'm kinda pissed cause I paid for the fast shipping too. Now I'm stuck with my old Nexus 4 (dat battery life ) until it comes in. Anyone else in a similar situation?
I called two stores yesterday and they both had multiple in stock. I just walked right in and bought one.

Hmm, so a pretty high demand area? I'm from South Jersey which is a pretty high populated area so that's why I figured no one had any.

Ha no probs.
I traded it back in for the S5 because I really didn't like the way the device felt. It was tall and it was narrow which made it awkward to hold IMO, and this is coming from me having a Note 3, which I was fine with. Sense, although incredibly fast and beautiful, was somewhat boring to me and left me asking for more. I also didn't particularly like the camera and wanted more that the S5 provides.

Thanks. I just watched some more videos comparing the cameras, and now I'm leaning back towards keeping the S5. DAMN YOU SAMSUNG!!!!

I picked up two (2nd for the GF) from the store in downtown SF this morning. They just got more black models in so they have both in stock.
Don't worry about it so much, shipments arrive every week. Mine was on back ordered, you'll soon get it was shipped status.

I ordered mine over the phone over the past weekend, was told it was backordered (white), next day I got a notification they had shipped the phone, just got it today....rooted, recovery, and sim unlocked running Alliance Rom. Something I couldnt do with the ATT version as of yet lol..

Well, all T-Mobile stores must have gotten shipments yesterday because after work my local store had a bunch of blacks in so I called in to T-Mobile to cancel. They said they did.
Get home, open up my newly purchased S5 activate it, set up me email and get a notification that my T-Mobile order that was supposed to be cancelled shipped
Oh well, at least I got one!
I just walked into the store on release day, talked to my buddy that I always talk to and walked out with a shiny new white S5. I've bought the new Galaxy on release day since the 3, 4 and now 5 all in white. I'm officially a Samsung fanboy.

Definitely not back ordered, as I walked into my local T-Mobile store and purchased a charcoal black S5 with new service.
They seem to have over anticipated the demand for white and under anticipated the demand for black. I had to call around for about 6 stores to find one in black and they had only received a couple in the order, so I zipped down and grabbed it. Then I had a hard time finding a black otterbox case, everyone had white but no black, but I found one at an AT&T store lol
