Hello friends,
This is my first ever post on xda, I've been rooting and flashing for about 2 years now, and xda has always been spot on when it came to finding solutions, anyhow I have stumbled upon a problem for which I am unable to find a solution for, this message is a distress call, kindly help me out.
I was using a rooted hox+ for a couple of months now with a 4.2 pure rom without any issues, I felt like checking out the cm10.1 by lloir , so I downloaded all the necessary files and stuffed in into my phone. I cleared up my dalvik caches and made a full wipe (factory reset ), then I flashed the rom ( CM10.1 by lloir) and the gapps bundled with it, and then the appropriate kernel (mentioned in the rom thread, I made sure It was the very same ). every thing went on perfect untill i the rom got booted, after which i wasnt able to use any of my gapps nor download anything frm the browser, Now I am aware that this is because of the change from 4.1 to 4.2 where the default folder is changed due to multi user thing. Ive read and searched the threads for any possible solution, I stumbled upon a similar situation by a xda member "member" on the CM10.1 thread, he had the same problem that i was facing which he got through, but he got through it by accident which is why I am unable to track his steps for a solution. Now the situation is such that I have and erased sd card with no data at all, the only thing that is fine is that the ROM and the recovery are in a working condition. Im unable to sideload anyother roms or any of that stuff.
Due to the fact that this is my first post I cant directly post anything on the CM10.1 thread which is why im trying this indirect method, any senior member who can help me out here or any moderator who can get me through to the CM10.1 thread, I would appriciate that a lot. I really need my phone back with working google apps and a proper file structure compatible with 4.2, I was wondering if i could manually create a folder wich may accomplish that but I wouldn't know how to, any light on that would also be of help apart from any other solution.

First did you try clearing Cache and Data for GAPPS in setings>apps?
Do you have CWM or TWRP installed? Have you tried sideloading another Rom through recovery?
Well, your sdcard is wiped so i take it all your important files were backed up. Easiest solution would be re-lock the bootloader and use the RUU for your device. Then unlock bootloader and re-root. Not optimal i know, but it will work.

Firstly thankyou for a quick response,
Yes, I did clear the cache.
I use CWM recovery, I tried sideloading through it, all the drivers are installed properly, but I'm unsure as to why the sideloading through the One X+ toolkit doesn;t function, anyhow as advised above I shall defenitely try re-locking the bootloader, but as far as the RUU is concerned I wouldn't know which one is for my device, If you could help me locate it and mention a few steps regarding its implemention, I'd be grateful. Im using the international version of the HTC OneX+.

the playstore ain't functioning bro, I can't access any google apps, and am unable to download anything at all from the browser. I'm really not sure what the callsign of my device is, If you'd rather confirm it for me, I think it is known as the endeavour, if I you can pinpoint the RUU file ... please advice.

Your device is not endeavour, but endeavor C2. it is shown as ENRC2B though
the problem is i can't pinpoint your device. just no way for me to tell which version you need. if you look at this link, you will see that there are many options for international version of HOX+. I have the ATT version.
One of those RUUs is for your device. You might want to take a look and see if something looks like it would work for you.
using ADB to get CID
1. boot into bootloader (volume down + power button) or connect phone to pc via usb, in adb type : adb reboot-bootloader
2. you're now in bootloader
3. type fastboot getvar cid (in windows) or sudo fastboot getvar cid (in ubuntu/debian), you'll see cid:HTC_044 (my case)
Then look here to find out which version
k I got it... its HTC__J15
I've downloaded the firmware.zip but i can't get through to the dropbox link for the RUU variants in the above mentioned thread !!!
Edit : I got through to the RUU variants too, there are about nine of them.crossing out vodafone and o2 im left with 7. RU
edit 2 : okay, 3 RUU's with the numbers x.xx.415.x in the list. can anyone of them be used ?

yes but you may need to flash back stock recovery before you relock. Not sure if it will just flash recovery over CWM.

shall i also flash the stock kernel boot.img from firmware.zip ?
That's how you put a smile on a face. All thanx to u Jokah. Stock stuff up and running, ill be taking a few days to get rooting and flashing again to overcome the folder issue, what's in my is that I shall install the aokp 4.1 and then upgrade to aokp 4.2 which i've read automatically solves the folder issue. Shall put up everything here in case anyone else needs any help.
Once again .. thanx mate.

Dear People,
I am a noob. A really big noob but I really want to have all the cool things that you guys have on the HTC Legend with 16GB SD. In my opinion is the HTC Legend sometimes a bit slow.
I am running: Android 2.2 and everything is stock, I never changed a thing. I saw some cool stuff on Youtube and I read a lot of interesting information about 'Custom Roms'.
My question / problem:
I want a fast cool Legend Rom which one the GPS, WIFI and Camera all the otherthings are working with no problems. Which Custom Rom is the best ROM for me?
I hope to read answers. I am very sorry for my dumb question and my bad English.
Regards,
Eer
Dear Noobfromthelegends,
first of all, if you want to try out custom roms, you need to root your Legend.
The easiest and safest way to do so is to follow the HTC guide [1] (please note that your warranty will be affected even if it is an "official" process).
Steps to follow had been explained in many threads, please take time to read a couple of solved similar threads; it'll spare you some time.
As you must have seen, there are a lot of ROMs out there, though a lot of them shared common basis. I'm afraid I can't help you on the best and faster one, I have only tested stock ROM and CyanogenMod (CM) ones. CM 7.1 (the latest stable release AFAIK, based on Android 2.3.7) is great but my Legend is sometimes laggy (actually a bit too often compared to newer phones).
Some people are trying hard to port Android 4 (Ice Cream Sandwich, ICS) on our beloved Legend. One major feature of ICS is the hardware-acceleration, which means that not only the CPU is used to compute (effects and some stuff) but available DSPs too. These ROMs are currently in beta stages, but users seems to be really happy with them (major drawback is not fully working camera ATM and some minor bugs, but like I said it is beta software).
(I am of course thinking of zeubea and its CM9 adaptation [2])
PS: remember to make nandroid backups (that is, make a backup of the whole system in case you did something wrong) and keep them safe, at least one which is okay (ie. a working copy on your computer). You can go back in time with complete backups, quiet useful if you want to try some MODs.

edit: it seems that updating your hboot version (ie. following the HTC guide to root your phone by updating your hboot) may be problematic if you want S-OFF. Please look for it on the forum if you care about it.
Thank you very much for your reply.
If I want S-Off has that something to do with: 'Root your Legend'?
Thank you for your back-up tip. But how do I back up my Legend? Because I am afraid that I don't back-up correct.
Hope to hear from you or the other forum members soon.
PS: Tomorrow I am going to 'Root' my Legend and I let it you hear.

- You're welcome, that's the purpose of this forum
- it seems that S-Off give you full access to your NAND flash.
I don't know a lot of things about it, only read some posts. So far, I didn't feel the need to do it, I can use custom ROMs, custom splash screens, etc.
I repeat, I don't know **** about this. Just that I didn't need it for the past two years with my Legend (rooted for more than 18 months).
I read that it has something to do with your hboot, and as I told you to follow the HTC guide to root your legend, yes it has something to do with it because it seems that you can't S-Off easily with a hboot version > 1.00.
- you can backup your device when you are in recovery
Please read guides about rooting your Legend, you will learn about the ClockWorkMod, the recovery, fastboot and last but not least ROM Manager.
If you are not comfortable with all these terms, you may end up not understanding at all what you are doing or done and being stuck with a (semi-)bricked phone is probably not what you want. Just don't rush for it.
If you want to update your hboot to root your Legend, have a look at BlaY0's post [1] too.
Feel free to read other member's questions and problems, they certainly have been solved. Reading others' mistakes could make you avoid them.

@bibzor great stuff!
My 2c, Rom to try? OK just thinking here, maybe as a beginner to custom roms start with blay0s froyo, it will be more familiar to you coming from stock froyo, but its also got all the bells n whistles that make rooting worth it ie. ext partition support for more app space, over/under clock and more I've forgotten about just now.
Go here.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=866849
Or if that's too boring for you and want excitement just start with zeubeas ics , that'll get your juices flowing, just remember its still a w.i.p. so theres still a few bugs and not everything is working 100% yet, but is still good enough for me to use as a "daily".
The other option I like personally is ogo2's gingerbread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=987251
Then there's the cyanogenmod & its variants like legendary legends fuse.
Their all good!
Its a good idea to try and read the whole thread of the custom rom you want to flash for hints tips and other stuff before flashing too.
Welcome to a new world of flashing

Thank you both very much for your reactions.
I Googled a lot of Nanobackup but I first want to root my systeem. I saw on the HTC DEV site the Unlock Bootloader but first I have to update the Rom / Ruu but there isnt a Dutch Carrier. I come from the Netherlands.
What do I have to do?

For couple of days i tryed some ROMs :
Cyanogenmod 7.1 -faster and stable, the phone was running perfectly, except the weak WIFI connection (maybe the problem was in my router) .
ExtremeLegendFuse 2 (best choice for me)- the phone just was flying - much more faster than the Stock ROM , GPS and WIFI worked perfect.
Now i use Cuanogenmod 7.2 - and will stay with it for future, Like advantages I can notice - lower baterry consumation and a little bit more free available RAM, in comparison with, CM7.1 / ExtremeLegendFuse 2 , on CM7.2 i neved used GPS and have not impression about the GPS ( befor i tryed to drive with GPS and after that i hate it ), everything else works perfct, the ROM is much more faster than the stock 2.2 Froyo ,but this ROM feels a little bit slower in comparison with ExtremeLegendFuse 2 ;
If you want a "fast and cool ROM " I recommend ExtremeLegendFuse 2;
If you use your phone for work and your phone is always in your hands - use Cuanogenmod 7.2

Thank you Bibzor but ....sorry for so much questions.
Today I wipeout everything on my phone due:
- Turn phone off, volume down 1 x On / Off Button and then Clear Storage.
- Then I did a format of my 16GB Micro SD.
So everything is clean now and I really want to do a full back up of my original Dutch ROM. If I understand it right I have to do a NANDROID for a complete back up of my orignal Dutch ROM so I can always go back to the orignal software?
BlaYo post about rooting starts with:
'' 1. Do a nandroid (at least data partition). ''
But how do I do a NANDROID with a Legend that isn't rooted? Can I start with point 2 from BlaYo post about rooting?

But..I want to back up my original Dutch 2.2 ROM. When I touch in Rom Manager:
Back up ROM, my Legend restarts and I get a phone with a red triangle.
When I push: Volume UP and then the On/Off button I get:
E: Can't open /cache/recovery/command.
I tried everything: Formatting SD card and much more.
Why is a backing up of my original ROM so difficult?
P.s. I also installed: Clockwork Recovery.
Similar Problem.
Hi Folks,
The above is similar to my problem.... I am an absolute total NOOB!! Rooted my legend thanks to these forums just yesterday and have SuperUser, ROM Manager & ROM Toolbox installed and can see the root and access files so most things seem to work..... BUT.....
Every time I try to update the ROM or partition the SD card I get the dreaded red triangle/exclamation mark and have to remove the battery to allow the phone to reboot into the dreaded Vodafone ROM.
My startup shows "UNLOCKED" S-on but according to other threads here that is not a problem as unlocked automatically means S-off.
Any ideas or threads to read would be much appreciated thank you as I want to try Gingerbread before I risk ICS
Thank you
Hi guys,
if you're experiencing the red triangle horror, don't be afraid it's quite common.
This triangle shows up when you try to reboot in recovery mod but the recovery image couldn't be loaded.
The easiest way is to use ROM Manager to update your recovery to the latest available and then press "reboot in recovery".
Otherwise, you can try to flash recovery image by hand.
Download the latest recovery image [1] and follow the method listed there which is :
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot flash recovery recovery-clockwork-5.0.2.0-legend.img
EDIT: of course these two commands are to be executed in a shell command when your Legend is connected to your computer and the image file is in the current directory, otherwise put its path.

Rexjarvis, if you don't know what to do with the command you have to do:
when the device is switched off, hold the volume down & power button in order for the phone to boot into the bootloader & connect the phone to the pc. You see now: ''Fastboot usb''.
Download the recovery_legend_5.0.2.8.img file and put it in the same folder on your pc as fastboot.exe & adb. then open the commandline on the pc, navigate to the folder that contains the fastboot.exe. You know: CMD and then C:\Android for example. Then you have to do the two commands from Bibzor:
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot flash recovery recovery_legend_5.0.2.8.img

:cyclops:hi guys, first of all thank you because you have saved me many times in the past just by reading through the forums. but this time
nothing seems to help me, i have a htc one m8 from sprint, and i tried to root it and install a custom room. And i did rooted now my device
shows tempered and bootloader is unlocked. I used twrp for the custom recovery later i tried to install android revolution one 4.0
and did not work but not only that i erase the partition of the phone so i soft bricked and my phone end up stuck on the boot loader not even
twrp will work :crying:and i try to repair the partition by using some comands that i found, but my phone was not getting recognized by adb just fastboot.
After a day i try a different custom recovery philz. and that one worked so i was able to enter to recovery, and i don't know why but when im inside the recovery my phone gets recognize by adb. I try to repair the partition, but since i have to grant access on the phone is not able to finish. so i tried to install
different rooms such as viper, badseed and it goes through the set up, but when it finish it just gets stuck on the boot loader again. I been trying
to install the stock room but i haven't been able to find it, i found a link in many different forums but the links are broken i been dealing with this
issue for over 5 days and don't know what to do. i will really apreciate if someone cuold help me please forgive me if you don't understand me but
english is not my native lenguage, so i don't speak it very well. also i'm a noob on rooting so i may not know a lot by the way my phone is s-on. help will be
really appreciate.
If you are S-On, when flashing a rom, it will not be able to automatically flash the kernel (boot.img) unless it specifically states in the OP it does by the developers. Most of the time, you'll just need to extract the boot.img and place it in the folder you have fastboot, then when connected in bootloader / fastboot mode run this : fastboot flash boot boot.img
after you flash the rom. Just boot into it right after, flash, and the just type : fastboot reboot
Should be good to go. FYI : adb isn't intended to work in bootloader and fastboot doesn't work in recovery. Nothing wrong there.

Well, I definitely see a couple issues with that list...
The Viper 6.0.0 should be this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2334294 Which is for the International M7.
The Bad Boyz rom you posted should be the one from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2635051 - This is for the M7 version.
The BadSeed rom should be the one posted here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2694471 - Also for the M7 (hence the M8 *PORT* in the title thread.
Now, HTC was stupid for giving the new phone the same name, I'll give you that, and XDA doesn't have it set to really filter well between the 2 forums, BUT stuff like the date posted could have been a give-a-way as well. But honest mistakes for sure. So, how to fix from here since your partitions are probably thoroughly hosed...? Hmm. Since I don't think there is an official Sprint RUU, that will be tricky. You will most likely need to get a hold of a very experienced HTC dev like the one's whose roms you were trying to use. The Viper, Bad Boyz, and BadSeed dev teams are all very good at most everything HTC. Another option is the developer : Captain_Throwback. He is very knowledgeable about HTCs from top to bottom and seems to be pretty helpful. Your casual helper will most likely not be able to provide as detailed help as you would need in this situation.

1 of 2 ways : post on a thread they have up, or click on their name on the left pane of the forum thread and it should give you options to Private Message the member. Keep in mind, many developers are busy people and some of them just ignore their PMs because they get so many for simple questions. Yours is certainly not gonna be the easiest fix. I would suggest to maybe start here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2696652

and believe me that i been reading for day trying to find a solution to my problem but hopefully soon with some help can be able to do it and if you want i can post and update in here of how finally i was able to fix it... thanks
First off, this should be posted in the Sprint M8 Q&A forum.
Next, I assume you have a stock nandroid, as that's the first thing everyone should do after getting a custom recovery installed on the device. So start by restoring that. If for some reason you don't have that, I believe there's one floating around in the "Stock ROM or any" thread in Sprint M8 General or Q&A.
Once you can boot up the device, you should be good to proceed to S-OFF and flash only ROMs specified for the Sprint M8 variant.
My pleasure. It's how I like to give back to the community. I have a ridiculous amount of experience with everything root, recovery, rom, mods, themes, apps, etc related after modding 100s of phones and tablets, but these type of issues require the next tier of experience when you're getting into semi uncharted territory due to how new the device is and that HTC hasn't released the official update utility for it. But yea, you should post back, just in case another member runs into the same problem and you can help point them in the right direction.

I'm not sure I understand. What does deleting all data have to do with your backup? Are you saying your backup got deleted? In that case, do what I said and find the one I referred to and restore that.

He flashed 3 or 4 different roms that were for the M7 or not for his version of the M8. Pretty sure that the partitions are borked at this stage as properly flashing the correct M8 rom and fastboot flashing the boot.img has not gotten him out of trouble.

If restoring the above doesn't work, you can try this:
- Relock bootloader (fastboot oem lock)
- Download signed firmware zip from here. Flash via fastboot (fastboot oem rebootRUU, fastboot flash zip firmware.zip, fastboot reboot-bootloader)
- Unlock bootloader via HTCDev.
- Download TWRP Recovery from here and fastboot flash (fastboot flash recovery openrecovery-twrp-2.7.0.2-m8_whl.img)
- Download Stock Rooted ROM from here and flash via TWRP.
So guys, I'm new to this and thought I would jump in at the deep end.
I unlocked my HTC One X+ easily and set about rooting.
I've got TWRP installed but it keeps telling me it needs to install superuser before it can root.
I have totally wiped the phone, how come if Im not rooted?
How do I get an OS and indeed the kernel or ROM onto the phone?
Its and International OX+, I've got the right kernel... what do I need to do?
It was locked to O2 if that makes a difference
I followed the instruction in Hasson but then wiped the OS
I know its a simple procedure but can someone walk me through it please
So I've downloaded Kernel 3.1.10-ge7581e4
I have no idea what to do next, come on guys I know its not difficult for you guys.

If you wiped as you said, you need to push with adb a rom of your choice to the internal memory of the phone and then install it within twrp.
Please read instructions 2 or 3 times before attempting anything, seems like you rushed and now you're temporarily without phone till you flash a rom on it again. I doubt any root guide tells you to wipe the phone, your own fault on this.
To sum it up:
Put a rom's zip of your choice in the internal memory with adb push
flash the rom within the twrp recovery (install option)
flash the kernel for the specific rom with fastboot (each rom has a guide and download for it)
You can now search about it more easily, plenty of posts and info about this.

Thanks, I did indeed rush into it but I have been meaning to do it for a year and just thought go for it, I know its all salvageable..ish!
So yep, I've got the ROM I want but don't understand the kernel, I see no guide to download it, all I know is I took a note of the Kernel before I wiped my phone and I have managed to find the exact kernel.
The ROM or RUU as it is, is an O2 UK version, I figure it must be the one I want as it was an O2 phone in the UK.
I still don't know what folders to put things in, TWRP can't see a boot.img that I have on the phone when installing, it can only see it through file explorer.
And then, every time I power down the phone TWRP asks to install Superuser, its cant, theres nothing to install it to, so it just keeps asking.
This is all because I hated the Sense 5 update, indeed Im till looking for the Sense 4 ROM fo HOX+

Sigh, if you had read carefully you'd know that boot.img need to be flashed through fastboot and not from recovery. Every rom has this info or a batch file for this.
So what exactly are you trying to do? Root the stock rom that came originally with the phone or installing a custom rom?

Lols, thanks dan, I hope you don't hate me!
Root the stock ROM
For starters..
The boot.img is the Android Revolution HD
The RUU is O2 UK
I do realise they are two different ways of installing an OS, I would just like one of them to work!
So think install RUU, then kernel
But put them where and how
I bought the Android Hackers book, but theres nothing about HOX+ in it, and seeing as that's the only phone, I've got to practise on I thought I would ask you specifically.

I see, the easiest ways would be to use a custom rom now. For example, the one you already got the kernel from(android revolution hd)
To root you dont need to install a kernel... just to flash the supersu zip. Using a custom rom's kernel with stock rom might not be a good idea.
Another simple way would be to restore stock rom back to start and try rooting again, this time reading everything carefully
So the two easiest ways i think:
1) flash a custom rom following the instructions they provide in the initial posts for that rom
2) run the o2 correspondent RUU to restore stock rom (you'd need to relock the bootloader), also reading carefully posts in the forum about restoring to stock
Without getting into too much detail, these are the simplest options.
All the info required to do these are on these forums
Aaarrghhh, its driving me insane as I knew it would, just like XP, Vista Seven and Eight!!!
So Im back to being up all night learning..
Well have installed SDK correctly but device is not seen, no serial, nothing.
I can get it to fastboot though, however I don't know any commands so I cant get it to work
Windows 7 keeps moaning about an mpt file which I downloaded and dont know where to extract it to
All I need to do is copy a few files to the phones sd card and install them right?
Whys that so difficult?
I don't know the difference between a rom an ruu and a boot image, in that I don't know where they should all be placed.
Why cant twrp copy and paste from pc...
So Hassooon works sort of but still none the wiser.
Am following tutorial but fastboot commands are not working
Still cant find right driver.....
So CMD lines not working 100%
So am downloading drivers in sdk manager
And how do I flash the supersu zip?
Still no luck with driver, im on windows 7 32bit
OK I cant push using adb it cant find the file or directory,
Hassooon cant detect the phone as cant windroid universal
I dont think the phone is rooted even though i have twrp on it.
Thus can I have wiped the os?
If not can i restore it?
No I didnt make a backup rom..
mmm a zip on the phone doesnt load in bootloader, count that be my os?
Guys, im stranded in the water here...
On boot im getting...
Failed to open usb master mode
[Preload] Failed to open usb master mode
loading PM35IMG.zip image...
Failed to open usb master mode
please plug off usb
Whats PM35IMG.zip?
Is that the OS?
Am I saved?
Is it easy to get that file to unzip and load?
Can anyone help?
So now I need the right RUU.....
2.17.206.3
Is there anyone out there that can help please?
So have managed to install superuser and root my phone, all instructions for doing this were wrong including Hassoon, had to have the phone in System screen to do it, not bootloader or recovery.
Now cant get adb to push file to sdcard...
Man alive, how to make something very easy, sound very difficult.
Would any of you experts care to help?
Just trying to install a ROM.zip to Root and place the boot img in right place.
Well, the instructions are dire but after 10 days of persistance have installed Android Revolution HD 8, finally my phone is up and running better than the bloated os that came with the phone so, you can call this thread resolved.
Can anyone tell me where to get my At One M8 repairs?
I can't take it to AT&T since they will say it's been tampered. I would appreciate any advice because I couldn't get any ROM into it. Only cyanogen would work but no WiFi.

Not enough information. What about it is "broken" requiring repair? In what way is it "tampered"?
Oh, and HTC will most likely refuse to repair it directly, telling you that if you bought it from AT&T, that AT&T needs to act as the agent for repair. You can always try to head over to HTC's website (I'm sure you can find it), find the support section, and make a support inquiry from them directly.

Did you flash the google play edition ruu? If so, the phone was repartitioned, and sense will no longer "fit" on the system partition. There's a way to deal with that if that's the case...

Hmm.. Not sure what to suggest in that case. I'm not very familiar with the whole RUU thing myself...

Download the ota update. Extract the firmware.zip from it but don't extract firmware.zip. boot to fastboot.
Fastboot oem rebootRUU
Fastboot flash zip firmware.zip
Do it again
Fastboot flash zip firmware.zip
Fastboot reboot-bootloader
Fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
Fastboot erase cache
Load recovery
Wipe, advanced wipe
Select dalvik, cache, data, system, internal. Wipe.
Put Rom on ext sd card or
Adb push Rom.zip /sdcard/
Install zip this will obviously erase everything on your phone.
Click thanks.

You don't need to repair. You just need to troubleshoot. You are throwing the baby out with the bath water, if you go for a hardware repair for what is likely a software issue that is easy to resolve.
You also need to provide more details, and be specific as possible. Namely:
What recovery and version number?
S-on or off?
What exactly have you tried to flash?
Did you factory reset in bootloader?
Do you have working adb?
What happened when you ran the RUU?
Hi redpoint73, I have twrp 2.7.1.0, unlocked, s-off.And I have adb.
I tried to ruu, then install a recovery, a stock rom and don't know how many things more and can't bring it back. They told me I should install cwm and try from there but don't know how. Please advice me on what to do and if you can, guide me step by step.
Thanks so much for your help.

I've already asked what happened when you ran the RUU, and you didn't answer. Any error messages, etc.? This is very critical information, so its hard to help when you don't provide the answers requested (especially this one).
RUU is meant to recover the device in most cases. So if it didn't work, its very posible you have a fundamental USB connectivity issue. What response do you get when you type the adb command:
adb devices
What happens when you try to install recovery or a stock ROM? You need to give more information and specifics if you really want help.
And "don't know how many things" is not meaningful information. You need to list all the things you tried, and the results. Again, the lack of specific info makes it hard to help. I literally typed more asking you questions, than you bothered typing the answers. This does not bode well if you really want help.
You did not even answer all the questions I asked:
- What exactly have you tried to flash? (list the ROMs)
- Did you factory reset in bootloader?

I am personally more familiar with TWRP, so I would advise staying with that if you want help from me. Nothing against CWM. But again, its just what I'm more familiar with.

I Hi, thanks a lot. I did the factory reset from bootloader and tried to install Android_Revolution_HD-One_M8_5.0 and after doing the process it returns failed. Also One_M8_1.54.401.10_odexed and Jmz_M8_StockRootedOdex-ATT and I just tried with cyanogenmod 11. While I installed this in twrp recovery it said failed but when I reboo0ted in stared loading. I installed gapps and now my phone is working at least. But I still can't flash a snse rom or a gpe rom because it fails in twrp.
That's about all I can tell you. Oh, and I see it's in android 4.4.4.

I don't understand how its so difficult for you to answer the basic questions I've asked multiple times now What happens when you run the RUU?
The RUU should restore the phone to full functionality, albeit with stock recovery, no root, etc. (if that is what you want).
Of course, this is not ideal if you want to install custom ROMs (which I assume is the case).
What I would try is to re-install TWRP. I'm not aware of any bugs in the newest version (which it appears you have) that would prevent flashing all the ROMs you mentioned. So maybe its just an improper install:
Re-download the latest TWRP img file. Place file in your fastboot folder. Open command prompt (navigate to the fastboot folder) and type:
fastboot erase cache
fastboot flash recovery "filename.img"
(where "filename.img" is the actual file name of the TWRP img file, with no quotes)
From there, load a ROM to your device, boot into TWRP and try flashing the ROM.

Also, it is becoming apparent to me that doing a factory reset in bootloader corrupts the internal memory. My advice is to never do this (factory reset within the OS settings or in recovery if you need to).
But if the internal memory was corrupt, you shouldn't be able to load any files onto the phone (including ROMs). It seems that your internal memory is ok (you can transfer files to the phone, access them, etc)?

I did the factory reset from within cyanogenmod and it didn't wipe it. It restarted back to cyanogenmod. I copied andoid revolution to my internal memory and try to install from there.

You need to try the things I've suggested. I've made some definitive recommendations, and you seem to have ignored them. Honestly, I don't see a point in trying to help anymore, if you don't read what I'm taking the time to post; or you don't try what I've suggested.
Worst case is RUU and start over (install custom recovery again, etc.). But again, I have no idea what happened when you tried to RUU since you still haven't answered that.
You aren't going to make any progress, if you keep ignoring the advice that is given to you.
I'm doing what you told me!!!
I reinstalled twrp and tried but it failed again. Believe me, I've been doing what you suggested.
Can you please give me the steps to RUU and what ruu file to download and use. I really appreciate all you're doing for me and the time you are taking to help.

I was able to install cyanogen mod again and I am using the phone but I want to install sense again.

Hi there and thanks for looking.
I have an HTC one x+ hboot 1.72 O2 Uk O2__001
The bootloader is unlocked via the htcdev site. If I lock the bootloader, I cannot boot the phone at all.
I tried to install android revolution but cannot get it to install.
I did however install the bootloader but I lost wifi and radio when the normal rom booted. Which is 4.2.2
I have tried installing endeavoru recovery and clockwordmod recovery but neither give me an install from sdcard option. (if they have indeed loaded as I am getting no difference in boot menu and nothing happens when I click recovery.
I keep following links to ruu files etc but they seem to be broken links and I really have no idea what to do now. Or which files to use.
So I think the main problem is I have a custom bootloader but stock rom.
Hope you can help.
Thanks
Managed to sort it by following Lloir's post here http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-x2/help/radio-zip-enrc2bu-please-t2882380
I had been using the wrong clockwordmod so that explains why recovery wouldn't work.
Although I couldn't seem to get the 2014 folder to load across, I did manage to flash the supplied boot.img which turns out was all I needed after all.
I am just posting this in case anyone has the same issue and looks in the wrong places and gets more confused as I did.
So I would like to say a heartfelt thank you to him for posting the files I also needed.
Thank you.

Yes it was that one, followed by your uploads of the files required.
