Hi all,
Just updated my stock phone to the new Villain Rom 2.3. All working nicely so far apart from I have no working predictive text. How can I enable this please?
Thank you.
Settings > Language & Keyboard > Samsung Keyboard > XT9
It is turned on but it does not work.
Probably because your language is not installed?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
i'm having the same problem
have enabled XT9
have selected my language as English (Australia)
and i have reflashed and re-installed the rom a 2nd time now
as prodygee says, the selected language probably is not installed.
Change the system language to other (system language not keyboard supported language)
I have the same issue with XXKG2, it was set to Spanish (United States) and predictive text didn't work, then I changed to Spanish (Spain) and the XT9 works!
is system language
settings > language and keyboard > select language ?
Try flashing the appropriate CSC for your region, read in another thread that it may help.

thanks
2.4.2 has auto completion working fine
Ok, so as I understand it, I need to install a CSC file in order to restore working predictive text.
I have Villain Rom 2.3.0 installed.
Android version: 2.3.4
Baseband version: I8199XXKG3
Kernel version: 2.6.35.7-I9100XXKG1-CL349526
I am in the UK on the Vodafone network, however the phone was bought brand new from Samsung with no carrier lock.
Which CSC do I need to use please? Thank you for your help.
Hi everyone, I just bought a Samsung Galaxy SII here in China (its a imported phone, NOT chinese seems to be from France originally). It came with ZSKE7 firmware installed (unbranded) and have Korean, Chinese simp & Trad, British & american english and Hongkong input.
I tried to upgrade the firmware using KIES, but it just said "no available updates", so I started to fiddle around with the CSC (customer sales code) and I changed it to BRI (Britain) from KOR (Korean). And voila!! Kies said it had a firmware update available.
So I upgraded the firmware and ended up with ZSKG2 (still 2.3.3) and I cant say I noticed any big changes after the update.
My question now is, does anybody know if there is a Generic firmware available, with ALL languages (for example Swedish, Finnish & German) and that also have all the support for the ZSKG2 languages (Chinese simp/trad)?
Best regards
Bumbi
Nope, there is no Official Stock ROM with all languages.
However, if you are interested in English + Chinese and have all the apps that China have Samsung removed, you can look at Hong Kong rom.
Thanks LiFE1688, I will give it a try , at the moment am I busy "cooking" my own version. Will see how it goes.
Is there anyone who is able to help with this topic?
I've been searching for a while for firmware/kernel/root information, specifically on their relationship with the country region and also the language support and native keyboards. Most of the threads/questions I found are all unanswered, and perhaps this is an eternal mystery, but would be nice if someone just said so.
My Galaxy S2 was bought in Thailand, but letter code is DX? (Does this even matter?), and I am using it in New Zealand.
PDA: KF4, Phone: KF1, CSC: KF1 (THL)
Kies wants to update my version to
PDA: KI2, Phone: KI1, CSC: KH1 (THL)
The current languages it supports as well as native keyboards include: thai, korean and english - both UK and US.
What exactly defines the inclusion of language support and native keyboards? According to the XDA official ROM page ([ROM+Guide]Official i9100 Firmwares KG, KH1/2/3/4, KI1/2/3/4/8, KJ1/2/3 Download - xda-developers), it has nothing to do with the CSC, which has been suggested in other threads.
and finally, how do you tell from the firmware list, what languages it supports? and if I flash with a randomly chosen firmware (which I assume you can), could I possibly lose my currently installed native keyboards, to have it removed or replaced with something else entirely?
There are plenty of guides on how to do all these things (load firmware, rooting, kernels, etc), but I'm having trouble finding any guides on how to choose the correct ones.
Sorry for the lengthy novice question.
appreciate any help, or redirection to where I can find any answers.
I got this Samsung GS2 from an export set seller. Apparently my set's kernel version is UHKI2 which I believe belongs to Latin American markets. I would like to change the firmware to either a US based version or UK based version, simply because the User Dictionary XT9 offers me words in either Portugese or Spanish everytime I try to sms.
Is there a way I could override the existing User Dictionary XT9 or do I have to flash either a UK or US firmware?
Please advise.
PS> BTW I have rooted the phone with CF-Root downloaded through this forum.
Thanks

Hello.
I have recently re-installed Gingerbread 2.3.6 on my Samsung Galaxy Ace GT-S5830.
(Could not pass the logo after i installed the clockworkmod 5.0.2.6, therefore i re-installed the OS.)
The norwegian letters are now gone and the language is mixed up. English and norwegian in some places.
Is it possible to get everything in norwegian language?
I used the following:
- Odin Multidownloader v4.38
- Cooper_v1.0.ops
- XWKPY for S5830
(S5830XWKPY_S5830XWKPA_S5830XEUKP1_HOME.tar.md5)
If i missed out som relevant information please let me know.
Thanks in advance!
( If post is in wrong thread, i apologize. Yes, i am a noob. )
