[Q] User Dictionary for Samsung Galaxy S2 - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I got this Samsung GS2 from an export set seller. Apparently my set's kernel version is UHKI2 which I believe belongs to Latin American markets. I would like to change the firmware to either a US based version or UK based version, simply because the User Dictionary XT9 offers me words in either Portugese or Spanish everytime I try to sms.
Is there a way I could override the existing User Dictionary XT9 or do I have to flash either a UK or US firmware?
Please advise.
PS> BTW I have rooted the phone with CF-Root downloaded through this forum.
Thanks

[Q] Galaxy S2 "Language"

Hi there, just wondering my friend has brought a Galaxy S2, we brought ours from New Zealand, anyway friend is Japanese and he wants his phone in Japanese language(whole phone interface), when i goto "Settings -> Language & Keyboard -> "Select Language" there is no Japanese language in the selection, is there a way i can install a pack so it shows up in there, or flash the Hongkong firmware that may have the Japanese in the Select Language menu.
thanks
Languages are contained within something called a "CSC"..
Read up on those and find the correct one in the Development section.
(Cant guarantee you there is a japanese one, I would imagine there is though.)
get some multi csc from the forum here.
so, if i find the releavant CSC in the forum, do i use the dial pad method or just use ODIN to flash the CSC by itself
thanks.

This is the thread your looking for.
OMKF2 firmware supports English/Japanese/Korean language. DCM is the CSC I believe.
when i flash the CSC, i get a error, "cannot acesss vnz csc" when it boots up seems like my csc is locked to the carrier firmware im using. if i flash the OMKF2 that wont add to my binary counter and OMKF2 seems like its for the M202S.
this is the current firmware im running: PDA:XWKE7| PHONE:XXKE4| CSC:VNZKE2
anyone ???
I've read what have been said and went on the other thread where I saw written :
CSC has nothing to do with what languages the firmware supports and it will not add keyboard language support either.

mrvtec69 have you been able to find a solution ? As far as I am concerned I would just like a japanese keyboard with which I can write texts that can be read by the recipient.
So far, simeji and all the other downloaded keyboard allow me to write texts in japanese, but those texts appear as "???????" on the recipient's phone and I'm pretty sure that a "native" japanese keyboard would solve the problem.

[Q] Firmware and Language

Is there anyone who is able to help with this topic?
I've been searching for a while for firmware/kernel/root information, specifically on their relationship with the country region and also the language support and native keyboards. Most of the threads/questions I found are all unanswered, and perhaps this is an eternal mystery, but would be nice if someone just said so.
My Galaxy S2 was bought in Thailand, but letter code is DX? (Does this even matter?), and I am using it in New Zealand.
PDA: KF4, Phone: KF1, CSC: KF1 (THL)
Kies wants to update my version to
PDA: KI2, Phone: KI1, CSC: KH1 (THL)
The current languages it supports as well as native keyboards include: thai, korean and english - both UK and US.
What exactly defines the inclusion of language support and native keyboards? According to the XDA official ROM page ([ROM+Guide]Official i9100 Firmwares KG, KH1/2/3/4, KI1/2/3/4/8, KJ1/2/3 Download - xda-developers), it has nothing to do with the CSC, which has been suggested in other threads.
and finally, how do you tell from the firmware list, what languages it supports? and if I flash with a randomly chosen firmware (which I assume you can), could I possibly lose my currently installed native keyboards, to have it removed or replaced with something else entirely?
There are plenty of guides on how to do all these things (load firmware, rooting, kernels, etc), but I'm having trouble finding any guides on how to choose the correct ones.
Sorry for the lengthy novice question.
appreciate any help, or redirection to where I can find any answers.

The mobile phone is not net/simlock
please help
Thank you very much
Go to settings-input,language-language. And search for Germany language.
All roms have Germany language it writed in description... if not it always be soon for it or sometimes not.
Send form Galaxy S2. But I don't have it :-\
So, in my SGS2 no German language is included, there are a total of close uk, usa, russki, arabic and heb..,
Thank you
Maybe look for "Deutsch", not German, if its still not there:
Go to http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/ search for your model, then download a European ROM and flash it; remember you have 9100"T". For more instructions on flashing roms, search for threads here on xda forum.

GT-i9100 ICS 4.0.3
Thanks Frank,
If I with the specified link the FW Checker seeking out I just get this:
Latest firmware info
GT-I9100T - (Pelephone)
PDA: I9100TJJLPB
CSC: I9100TPCLLPB
Version: 4.0.3
Modified: 2012-10-08
Download: here
I think if I followed the FW downloading then I have no German menu.
Are you ready for me to dig out the correct FW? I myself am afraid that I was wrong downloading and at the end I have sim / Netlock
Thank you
Hmm i searched for your model on sammobile and there are indeed no european versions for it... only israel or australia and some others... maybe an australian one would include german... you could try.
Another idea is that you could flash a normal european GT-i9100 ROM and then flash a modem for your model T, but im no expert, maybe someone else could help you with that. Look for your model in google.

Thanks again
Finally I managed, Odin3 v3.04 + I9100XWLQ2_I9100DBTLPO_DBT of Samfirmware Downloads, at Odin, the TAR file added to the menu PDA, that's it
in the FW's all there, now it's GT-I9100 without T
Thanks to you
