What method did you use to root?
Odin and a .tar file?
Or?

I can not find the thread for the guide I used to root my i747.
However, I did use Odin like the video; but just flashed a stock TouchWiz ROM with root injected. I then installed TWRP recovery (better than CWM imo) through the GooManager app from the Play Store. (Requires root obviously.)
Then I flashed whatever ROM I so desired.
I had no issues with IMEI, however it does show I have 3G data on Synergy ROM rc484. Sometimes switches to HSPDA+.
I have only had this issue on this particular ROM.
I can send you a link for the stock ROM w root for flashing in Odin through a PM, just msg me.
Or try this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2042775

I was using odin, superoneclick and kies to root my phone. All was working fine untill superoneclick decided not to open and had an error message that said "Unable to find the version of runtime to run this application." I couldn't find a way to fix it after multiple attempts so I decided to try the easier way of rooting the phone. But this requires my firmware which is KDD but I can find the thread for it. Does anyone have the thread for it or help me find it. PLEASE help is greatly appreciated I have been doing this for more then 4 hours im getting really frustrated.

+1 did the same. with CWM after u can go anywhere..
1. Does all stock roms have the same recovery?
2. If so how can I pull a stock recovery and push it over a stock Rom with cwm...
(replace cwm with stock recovery) in order to be able to get otas

In the tar you download from sammobile.com, there is a file called recovery.img. This is the recovery. Just be sure to download the rom suitable for your device. Then you have 2 options:
Put the img in a .tar and flash with odin
OR
Download this file www.mediafire.com/?w45j8i0fcj0wck0, which originates from this thread: forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1171089&highlight=lorddeff07.
Replace the img with your own and flash with cwm.
I have used it to flash pershoot's recovery to my 7500 and it worked. I don't know whether it will work for stock, or wifi only version, but I see no reason why it shouldn't.
Please report back as to what you tried and if it worked.

Why don't you just wait a day or so for one of our awesome devs to post a rooted OTA after it drops, and then you can just flash it.
But I think the answer to your question is "PDA"...

I feel you m8... But you know as soon as Sammy drops the ICS update the great devs on XDA will pop open the OTA, root it, tweaked it and debloat it. And that will be done most likely in a few hours of the update. And remember if you do the OTA, you most likely will lose root until the devs setup some new root files.
Just saying...

I just used Kies to update my Samsung Galaxy S2 I777 from 2.3.6 to 4.0..3 ICS that just came out. I was previous rooted and now the root seems to be gone. How do i fix this and root my phone again while its 4.03?
Does the super 1 click root work on the official 4.0.3 version?
I would appreciate any help/directions on how to reroot my phone after i updated to the official ICS from AT&T. Thank you!

So I'm stuck with this forever or will there be a fix for this in the near future?
Btw was it normal for my root to be removed by updating my phone using kies? Because when i updated previously from 2.3.4 to 2.3.6 OTA using my phone's software update option, it didn't remove the root. I was surprised to see that ICS did
Also, what do you guys think about using this method to root my official version of ICS 4.03 on my S2: http://galaxys2root.com/galaxy-s2-root/how-to-root-ics-on-att-galaxy-s2-sgh-i777/
I know most people on here don't like galaxys2root.com but I'm running the unrooted version of ICS from galaxys2root.com and am having no problems.

Yea but i want to root so that i can freeze apps using titanium back, as well use root capabilities such wifi tethering and root explorer. So i need to root soon. What is the best/safest way to do this on the official ICS 4.03 version?
Well I don't know why his rooted version would be good as well...have you read the comments on his tutorial in the link you posted? Probably will give you a good idea of how it's going for other people.

It seems to be working for some people but I honestly don't want to have to root using a I9100 version/kernel to have a root. I was hoping that there was an similar root to the super 1 click root method where you can keep your phone on the i777 version.
Also some of the comments say that they are having issues with certain buttons, and on the youtube video one comment says something about getting bricked. So idk
Restore to stock kh7 with root, then flash the official rom in the dev section is the only way I know of at the moment

My humbly tendered suggestion would be that you start reading here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1313659
Oh, man...why won't someone spend the time to find this poor guy the info he needs and post the links? It's not his fault he did an update without first knowing what effects it would have on his phone. What a heartless bunch you guys are. It's not like he's been here for over 3 years and knows how this forum works.
Yes you can root the update but trying to flash an update script thru 3e recovery didn't work for me and will format your sd card when you exit 3e but I was rooted within 10 minutes after upgrading to att official ICS. Just to be sure I downloaded/installed Superuser and busybox, then I flashed the CWM recovery kernel ( if you don't know ahead of time how this process works please research before attempting it) which won't boot the phone but allows you to use the button combo to get into recovery and then flashed the latest Siyah kernel .zip (or whichever ICS kernel you prefer), which had been strategically placed on my sd card prior to the Kies flash. And voila...root and recovery.

Why not just flash the pre-rooted version?
...and then there's that ! ^ As a matter of convenience that works too...but personally I like to take what I've learned thru these forums and apply it in real life to retain the process.

Another way to do it, if you have the Odin flashable files, would be to use Mobile Odin with the everroot option checked.

So does this look just like the "official" AT&T release (just cleaned up)?
i had rooted my galaxy note 2 (GT N7100). Flashed paranoid android custom rom.
now i have restored my stock rom backup (which i had made before flashing)
but now samsung stock apps like "readers hub", "Game hub" etc. are not working. apps say "Rooting detected" and clos.
and in settings->device status it says "modified".
so according to me the phone is not completely restored to stock rom.
can u help me out? cuz i want complete stock rom.(the original rom i got when i bought the phone.)
Thanks in advance....!!!
Maybe you had first rooted your stock ROM before making a backup. Make sure to flash a new stock image, not a backup you made previously. Look in the Galaxy Note 2 forum for more details.

So my S2 died the other day and I went to buy a i9300. Now I've been searching about S3 rooting and I've found conflicting info on this.
So when I first rooted my old S2 I did it with a temporary CWM that disapeared ofter reboot stayed in stock with stock kernel and kies was able to update my firmwsre without deleting root. I actualy updated from 2.3.5 to ICS via kies without removing root or loosing it after.
I was wondering if the same could be done with the i9300 I want to remain stock for now and don't want to replace stock recovery with CWM. Is there a temporary CWM for S3 so I can push the SU binary to system part without flashing anything over stock?
