Galaxy Player 5 Hard bricked [help please] - Samsung Galaxy Player 4.0, 5.0

So i tried to install a new kernel on my Galaxy Player 5 ( US version, with 3 capacitive buttons )
I flashed the kernel as a zip file in CWM, after i flashed the kernel and wipe cache and delvik cache and then hit reboot system.
after i hit reboot, my GP5 will not turn on ( recovery and download mode will not turn on too ) , will not respond if i plug my charger nothing will happen , i try using The UnBrickable Resurrector Revision40 and it doesn't recognized my device ( try all sort of power button and volume buttons combinations )
is there anything else i can try before i toss it out of my room window ?

Have you tried to keep trying until you hear a bip from your computer? If you're not hearing it, well you may consider buying a jig. If the jig doesn't work, well a 40$ jtag repair may be necessary.

First off odin recognizes your device when it is in download mode. Force-off your device and go into download mode. "hold the vol. down rocker and power button at the same time until you get to the download screen." Once you do that, plug it into your computer and now you can use odin.
Try Holding the Vol. up rocker and Pwr. then once the Samsung logo appears release the Pwr. and keep on holding the Vol. up rocker until you get to the recovery screen. You are probably going to have to do a factory reset... Hope this helps.

Well... you can load any rom as easy as loading a stock rom. Just make sure you install the right rom for your device... international rom if you have a physical button at the bottom center and if not, a US rom... you should be good to go.

keep holding the power button, volume up button and the home button for around 15 seconds. You will be able to enter recovery mode. Happened to me too recently, when in Recovery mode just flash Omega Rom another time without resetting Data. Just wipe cache and Dalvik cache
how? CMW is not opening the phone is only able to open in download mode nothing else. Its a fault with OMEGA 8.1 mods or maybe siyah beta kernal
how to start in recovery mode? If i press the 3 buttons it takes me to download mode ---press up button to continue and press down button to restart
This only takes me to download mode not in recovery mode

Failed Flashes

I flashed SLIM for the i717 Note and continually got a AOSP Keyboard error. Cleared the data on keyboard and dictionary, still never got it to work.
So i went to flash a previous ROM that worked. I flashed http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1993808
I did this all in TWRP 2.3
I would wipe cache, system and dalvik cache before flash. Flashed the ROM listed in link. It installed just fine, hit reboot, phone turned black(as usual)
now it won't turn on or respond to anything.
I'ved tried putting it into download mode. (pwr + vol dwn)
I've tried taking the battery out, plugging into computer (and just charger...), holding (pwr + vol dwn) and then putting battery back in.
Everytime i plug it into my W7 computer, i get continuous popups asking to Format the drive...
But ODIN 1.85 doesn't recognize it when i plug it in.
Your probably going to need jtag

sounds like u flash the wrong rom/kernal prob was an international note rom. HARD BRICKED
If you have no USB activity, and no download mode...the device is hard bricked.
The N7005 rom you linked is correct for the I717.
Is there any possible way you may have downloaded a rom for the N7000 ???
That's really the only way to hard brick....g

boot loop problem

hi, i ve been using cm 11 nightly for about 5 months or so, was running smoothly till last night. while i was surfing on the internet on my phone, phone shut down and found it in an infinite loop, get the cm logo and samsung then, closes. what the heck just happened? i intstalled cm via installer only took 15 20 mins. so i m not familiar with the twrp and other stuff. Please help me
I think you should install a new rom via TWRP. Just google the process. Don't worry. Take the risk.
As long as you follow the instructions, Everything's gonna be fine.
sorry bad english

I haven't encounter that problem before. Did you try using Custom Recovery? Becauase you install ROMs via ODIN.

1) make sure that you have the latest usb drivers and the latest odin version
2) run odin as administrator and locate your stock rom
3) power off the phone
4) press and hold power home and volume down buttons simultaneously
5) connect your usb cable to your device
6) press volume up to continue
(at this point you should see that odin added your device, if so => start)
7) wait until flashing is done
8) unplug the phone when it says so (you'll see pass or done message)
9) wait up to 15 minutes just to be sure that its actually stuck on boot (i once waited 20 min to start :S)
10) if the phone dont start after 15 min then press and hold power home and volume up button simultaneously
11) in recovery mode wipe data/factory reset and wipe cache partition
if this doesnt help im sure that someone from the forum will come up with the solution you just have to be patient
cheers mate

Add the CSC and the BL files too with the .tar.md5 file in their respective places. And then start the process

Bootloop to recovery issue.

Hi guys.
I seriously need help right now.
My friend bought an s2 i9100 in cheep which was stuck on bootloop and he thought it could be repaired.
so we don't know what caused the problem.
But i was surprised that few repair shops weren't able to fix it.
let me explain the problem:-
when we hold power button or plug in a charger it show the logo, goes into recovery and reboots repeating it in loop.
so whenever i charge it goes into this loop.
we can use volume up & down key in those 2-3 seconds in recovery but not the power key.
we can access download mode and it doesn't reboots automatically but going into recovery mode manually also start this loop.
it's like we are only going in recovery mode again & again.
i installed this file "I9100XWLPW_I9100ODDLPC_I9100DDLPB_HOME.tar.md5" through odin and also used the pit file "I9100_STOCK-System_2GB-Data_512MB-Preload.pit" but nothing changed.
i don't know what to do now.
i cant find any gingerbread rom to test.
i don't know how it can be fixed,
so please help me.
Update
After doing a lot of things I finally managed to boot into system but the problem is not solved.
I flashed i9100XXLSJ which had modem and CSC files other than the PDA only.
The device actually booted in system (just the samsung logo) but it was a bootloop.
This time I kept holding power button by which the bootloop stopped and it successfuly booted but power button is not working inside the system so I can't reboot, power off or even switch on the screen.
By holding down up vol + home + power for a considerable long time I can boot into recovery. But again the power button is not working so I can't select any option.
I flashed a cwm touch recovery which is working.
So can anyone tell me what is the problem here and what can I do to actually fix it.
If you have problems with flashing stock ROM, consider flashing a custom ROM, like Cyanogenmod.

The problem is not about flashing it's about the bootloop & tell me can I flash cyanogenmod with Odin?
@kuro2052
Try flashing the 4.1.2 JellyBean leak ROM via ODIN linked in this thread (scroll down to you see "Another option for i9100"):
[GUIDE][Troubleshoot a failed Odin flash]
This will factory reset the device which may hopefully resolve your problems.

Actually the ROM you are talking about is the ROM which I flashed which is mentioned in my second post " update".
PDA = CODE_I9100XXLSJ.tar
PHONE = MODEM_I9100XXLS6.tar
CSC = CSC_HOME_OXX_I9100OXXLS1.tar.
That's how I got this far, previously it was impossible to boot into system.

In CWM touch recovery, you can swipe (or touch) to confirm the option.
Try factory reset. Reboot.
If that doesn't help, try wiping system, cache and data.
Let me know how that goes

Wiping data/factory reset and cache doesn't solve the problem.
There is format option in 'mounts and storage' so I formated system, data, cache & also emmc. But the bootloop is not gone. The only thing that is gone is the ROM because of those formats. I have yet to to install the ROM again.
maybe is a faulty power button... Do u have to push it down a little harder than normal?

It might be the problem of power button. Sometimes it boots as soon as I put the battery. It always boot when I plug in charger. Sometimes it boots after I press and hold the power key for maybe 15 second & sometimes it doesn't boot when holding power key & I have leave hold again to boot it. And important thing is when it boots, I have to hold the power key until the key lights up to stop it from bootloop but then the power is Jo longer functional in system. Same goes for recovery. But this is the only till nowROM which actually boots into system. Other ROMs were booting into recovery automatically.
I wanted to test cyanogenmod but I am not able to install twrp. I followed the steps here using HeimdallSuite https://twrp.me/devices/samsunggalaxys2i9100.html
I had no problem in the steps but the recovery is not actually replaced when I boot into it.
The recovery that I have currently is not able to flash isorec_twrp or any cyanogenmod directly. It always shows error code 7.
I am going to replace the power button with my friend's s2 (other friend who have an s2 laying around) only to see it works.
Anyways tell me how to install twrp successfuly.
The actual power button needs to soldered, I thought It would be a connector, so I am not going to do that. But as far as I can tell, the plastic button isn't the problem.
