Maybe faster but not better, having in mind that it's NAND memory we are talking about.
Read this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1675026
After that google a bit more about ext4 and NAND memory.
At least that's how it was when I search about it.

Dude how did u do that!!
BTW
ext2 = extended filesystem version 2
+ = fast
-= not easy data recovery because it has no journaling
ext3=extended filesystem version 3=extended filesystem version 2 + journaling( this means filesystem keeps a log of all operations done on it..if something goes all it does is read the journal and the last operation)
+= safer,data doesnt corrupt easily,easy recovery
-=relatively slow compared to ext2
ext4= extended filesystem version 2 =super awesome ..Complete rewrite
+= has all the goodies u can think of !!!
-= none to say(i love reiserfs though ..its a pity that dev is in jail for killing his wife !!!)
SO stop asking same questions !!! flash AMONRA 2.2.1 and format with ext4...God !! same questions over and over again ...

Android uses this yaffs2 for internal memory except when internal memory is huge(as in costly phones)

Its a pain in the a**, because cm7 data partition is big enough already, and now i can't even use a2sd, space is very limited
Try repartitioning

Done. Twice. Problem Still persists, although the partitioning was done by cwm 5.0.2.6, so imma try on the official one again
Yup, I have problems too with a2sd. My ext4 partition on SD corrupt and because ext4 inherited ext2 so fsck take a long time to recover.
I wish somebody add more fs support like jffs or another journaling fs that suitable to android.

[Q] Superwipe EXT3 or EXT4?

I'm flashing Chad's Modified Superwipe. Do I choose "Superwipe EXT3 (all partitions) or "Superwipe EXT4 (all partitions)?

What version of the super wipe are you using? The one I use doesn't ask any questions. Anyway, I believe the ext4 option is the one you want.

Yes ext4 is best. However it is dependant on what the Rom is optimized for. I believe most are for ext4.

Did EXT4 work for you?
EXT4 is backwards compatible with EXT3, so I think this option would be safe.

Link2sd alternative

I have read somewhere and also experienced that performance of the phone decreases when we use link2sd... Is there a similar alternative cz I have loadss of apps and internal storage is not enough!
But the sudden lags even on apps stored on internal memory are dissapointing...
Thanks!
Sent from my SK17i using xda app-developers app
that should be in Q&A forum
and no there isn't ,Link2SD is the best i have experienced ,with overclocking there's no lag
dont use link2sd just use IN2EXT4+ here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1716124
no apps needed. Just a kernel that supports ext4
Link2SD is more versatile and fast!

Link2SD is more versatile and is fast, Link2SD has a good graphical interface and works with ext2, ext3 and ext4 partitions formats, also, you have the choice not to move an app if your want and so on. It only makes slow when copying files to the SD Card there's no way around this as SD cards are normally slower that internal memory, you could buy a class 10 card or bigger for better performance.

CronMod IN2EXT4+ often gives bootloop for me on Hasa MIUI. I can recommend a Mounts2SD app by SpazeDog:

Hi
which slow performance do you experience with link2sd?
Lags, slow opening apps, what?

no issues at all. Just flash it AFTER FLASHING ROM and set permissions of script to 755. Dont forget to wipe sd-ext after flashing the script
You can use Titanium Backup on ur rooted phone and can easily move apps to SD. No issues for me so far.

If you plan on using link2sd you will need a primary fat32 first, then resize that partition you just made. Use the section below/after that first partition to any size you want and use ext4 (primary).
