So I haven't seen a thread specifically addressing this yet, but I recently installed the extremely sexy MIUI v5 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2227680 from the DEV section.
Unfortunately I noticed that there are now some issues with app compatibility from the play store. Apps that were previously compatible on CM10 and aokp are now incompatible on MIUI.
Culprits:
yelp
glympse
TD (canada)
and a few others.
I was wondering if anyone else on MIUI was experiencing this issue? and if so, what the possible solution might be?
What I've tried so far:
overwriting build.prop lines using a CM10 build.prop fingerprint & description
installing and using market helper (allows apps to be found and downloaded, but install stops with error "missing shared library"

I just installed Android Illuminate this evening and I am having problems installing the Google+ app from the market. It says that it does not exist for my device. Now, I did find a themed version from elsewhere on XDA that installed fine, however, I cannot share from it. It force closes the app when I try to do so.
Upon further reading, it appears that Google+ is supposed to fail automatically if you do not have GPS, whether the tablet has the capability or not. People have had success with My Fake Location, however, whenever I run that app, it just force closes for me as well.
So, has anyone had any success with using Google+ & My Fake Location with the latest version of Android Illuminate? If so, what did you do to get this to work?
Thanks!
I know think it doesn't deal with the ROM but others say that the new Music Beta app and cloud works for them but the ones running GinSenTazz for the Droid Eris & tend to be the ones with the problem of it not working. I got an account and downloaded the apk here on the second post ' http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1106862 ' everytime I open the app it FC's? Any ideas.
EDIT: Answered, I found it on GinSenTazz forum and it was the apk version

I have a Verizon Galaxy Nexus, rooted and running AOKP build 38. There are several key apps that show as "not compatible with my device" in the Google Play Store. What causes this? I've been running these apps forever and all different roms. Apps like HD Widgets and Adobe Flash Player are a couple that are doing this. Is there a way to fix this or is it a per-ROM problem?
Thanks so much,
caseym
Sorry you cant
Google Play sorted all the apps so it will work on you mobile:
they will look for:
-if the resolution right
-does you phone have the hadware for it?
like: does it have an gps for an gps app?
yes?-> the app will show up in the google play store!
no? -> the app wont run or is useless and then it wont show up in the playstore!
-can you phone run the app with your hardware? if your phone is too slow and you want to run an advanced 3D game it wont work and wont show up!
if you really think your andriod phone can run it look on google to find the app and install it with an file explorer like: es file explorer.
i dont know if it works for you but it mostly worked for me with some apps that were to big for the screenresolution of my htc wildfire.
it may can the app up0dated and removed the compatibility with your phone. and yes mostly it is rom fault

I have a similar problem...
When I used the official ROM, I was able to use some apps that appear unavailable for my device. Now I'm using ICS official (SGS2).

Did You tried XPOSED module Play Store Fixes?
I have been running SmoothBean 4.1.2 for a while now and loving it. Great job nobe!
I have Google Search v2.0.0.392829 and it works very well. My question is about allowing the recent update to this app. After the latest update from Google, the app crashes every time I try to start it.
Are there any known fixes or has anyone else seen this behavior?
