OK. Post some more info here, and in will try to get someone to help. maybe we can get your post count high enough.
ADB detects the phone, installed the drivers on OMAP 4430.
I tried it on Ubuntu, if you type the command "adb reboot oem-unlock" it was the same as on Windows 7
Already did it,
I have uploaded the new ROM V20B and restored the factory settings, the bootloader unlocked.
Thank you for your help

Which variant you have? P765 / P760 / P768 / P778? Which country rom you tried, etc.
Always provide all the information in first request so people will start thinking what might have happened? This phone is really bit difficult due to various variants and rom+hardware non-compatibilities.
Kevev just PM'ed me that myju figured out the problem. And I told him this in PM...May be this is not the case here, but this generally happens. He he he
@kevev, Do you know, when there is a silly question from noobs, leave it for some time without answering. And they get impatient and frustrated and they start reading the whole OP carefully and do things in right way. lolz experienced many a times and always worked. ha ha ha
hello, i hope i am posting in the right thread. I have a lgp769 that will not power on, will not boot into anything except fastboot. is there something that I can flash to the phone in fastboot that will at least allow me to boot into a recovery of some kind so that I can get my phone back to stock.

You need to do the online recovery option with LG PC suite, put the phone in S/W upgrade mode. Turn off then plug in USB with 'Vol Up' held. Then use PC suite, and click on Recovery Phone Mode or something and it should flash full stock on your phone, you may have to format data if the phone doesn't boot after the update (Vol Down + Home + Power)

Hey thanks for your reply. I appreciate your help. I am unable to boot into S/W upgrade mode because the phone has no software on it, powers on to a black screen without a bootloader. I was hoping that someone might be able to tell me what I'd need to copy to the various partitions on the phone to get it back in working condition - at least enough to get it back to stock. I can get the phone to power on and boot into fastboot and I've played around trying to copy bootloaders and stuff to the phone but I must not be either doing it right or getting the right software for the correct phone. I accidently flashed the phone with the wrong software and through many mistakes ended up wiping all of the partitions on the phone...perhaps some kind person here might be able to provide the images i'd need and how to use fastboot to copy them to the phone, I'd truly appreciate the help as this is my only phone and been without it for a couple days (won't be trying to flash firmwares again if i can get the phone back up and working) much thanks
---------- Post added at 04:22 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:58 PM ----------
I noticed a thread on how to restore a Nexus 7 through fastboot, and was hoping a similar method would work for the LG but can't find an image of the phone that will work with fastboot
If you're talking about what I think you are, you need to fastboot flash u-boot, x-loader, and recovery via fastboot. You can't do system via fastboot because the file size it too big. I ran into that problem once by accidentally flashing wrong u-boot and then erasing all partitions out of frustration. I don't think recovery Idk 100% necessary as long as you can boot into s/w update mode, which I believe is intertwined somewhere in the u-boot or x-loader.
Once you get the phone to load inti s/w mode, you're set to flash kdz.

Hi all... Ok, a "friend" of mine got ahold of my L9 and decided to do me a favor and root it... 5 hours later he is gone, and I find myself with a backwards mirrored screen, a digitizer that is all wonky, and a retty much unusable hone at this point. I did some reading but it sounded like this is an old issue, I am at a loss, can anyone steer me towards a solution that isn't absolutely painful, or involve holding the hone up to a mirror?? I'll start from scratch, can I just odin-flash it or something?
please help, any advice is greatly appreciated.

My best advice is to download LgMobile support tool, install it, open and connect your phone in the S/W upgrade mode (shut it down, keep pressing vol+ while inserting usb cable), wait a minute to recognise the device, then click Options and you ll find Upgrade Recovery and click it.
This will get you back to your original Rom. Now you wait like 15 min, and you re done, hope it works for you.

I'm in exactly the same situation, but self inflicted. I did however try to use the LG support tool and update recovery. The process completed, but the touchscreen was still messed up.
While I could try and fix it if I had root, I can't root because adb is not working. No matter what I do it never starts.
Does the recovery overwrite the x-loader and u-boot partitions?
ADB was working when I started today, but after I went bonkers on fastboot erase (http://www.saboteaur.com/post/65807202059/p769-fastboot-from-linux) no more adb...
Are any of those partitions that I erased critical / would possible cause the problem?
Worst part it, it's not my phone (grandma's). Should I just take it back to the store and beg for a replacement?

x-loader and u-boot don't get overwritten by recovery. Apparently you've managed to either remove the adbd daemon from the device or USB debugging isn't enabled on it. If you can boot the device you can install the L9RecoveryInstaller.apk and install the bootstrapped CWM. Then reboot to CWM, Vol down when keys flash, as CWM has USB debugging enabled. Now use ADB to fix your device.

After that the display is black, and i have to restart the Phone.
When i press all 3 buttons on my phone,i got into the hardware key control mode, does me help that everthing?

Please help me,what can i do?I have the Phone only since 2 two days,an i wouldnt lost it Unhappy
Sorry for my bad english
Can you still get into twrp? With the phone off hold power and vol down til LG logo comes up the release and press again after. Should take you to a menu, just hit yes. If it takes you to recovery just hit factory reset and it'll,take you to twrp. If so, I'd recommend putting a Rom onto an sd and flashing it. You'll lose everything but it's better then losing this beautiful phone

You obviously didnt read his post correctly. He stated that when he gets to the factory reset area which leads you to Recovery Mode/TWRP it shows the LG logo appears and nothing happens.
As for you my friend if you are able to somehow get into download mode with a button combination you have a chance at saving yourself by using a TOT or KDZ file to restore your phone to stock software. But i also have a question for you.........Why the hell would you allow an app to flash a recovery file that has nothing to do with BUMP'D? The Bump'd recovery for our phones is specific to our phones! You should never auto update any recovery unless stated its ok from the Bump'd developers, Which they never did or will because our TWRP Recoveries are different than any other phones because of the bump'd implementations with in them and the boot.img's. Sounds to me like you may have screwed up your partitions and/or boot stack. Your are better going on IRC and requesting the help of TheCubed/IOMonster and AutoPrime, but mark my words you will face some heavy criticism from members of the IRC channel when you explain this story to them. But they are always willing to help.
I dont know why i have done it,im new on Lg.Before i had an HTC there is so many other.I will aks that guys.I hope i can save my new phone.

same thing

Not sure it will work.
I have G2. Tryed the G2 metod but nothing.
Thanks guys,
I managed to get back my phone. I had to put it on qualcomm 9008 and after that to flash again all files.
Best regards.
alright guys, so here's the story. just yesterday i bought a brand new lg v10, got it home and the first thing i did was root the device and used ADB to load TWRP following the instructions here on SDA to a T for the ROOT/RECOVERY setup. and it worked. all was fine and dandy, the first time i booted into TWRP via ADB after root i got in, flashed a debloated ROM + xposed and again, everything went fine.. loaded into the OS of the new ROM, went through setup, turned on USB debugging, clicked always allow this computer, installed xposed app yadayadayada. I then, using ADB again, loaded into TWRP. i created a backup there just in case something went wrong with the changes i was about to make and once the backup was complete i loaded back in to the OS. at this point i thought i had done everything right and was confident that if i made system changes that didn't work out i could just flash the phone with TWRP from the backup i made. right? WRONG! ...apparently... so anyways, i made my first change, which was to use a NONROOT app called texdroider or whatever to change my DPI (as i have done with a couple phones previously without much issue) but i didn't take into account that stupid second screen... making the DPI changes system wide, as i'm sure those of you that know this phone are aware, causes the systemUI to crash with an error.. making the OS unusable.. so i tried to load into TWRP by holding the volume down and power button.. but instead it just booted me to the factory recovery.. not TWRP... the phone is unusable within the OS, i can't get the phone to connect to adb to boot into twrp as i had previously, i can't seem to get the phone into download mode, and i can't boot to TWRP and the OS is junk at this point.. but it DOES say on the "LG" screen that the bootloader is unlocked so i'm really hoping i'm not completely out of luck.. but i am not sure what to do at this point. does anyone here know of anything i can try to get into a custom recovery at this point? if i could get into TWRP my SD card in the phone has a backup, the original image, not to mention i could pull the SD card and add anything i need via my pc and then boot back to twrp etc etc and i would have no issue fixing the phone... i really don't understand what i did wrong or why i can't boot to my custom recovery but i'm at a loss.. i'm just looking for a way to force the phone into a custom recovery... or restore the original factory image.. if you have any advice at all i would really appreciate it.
Thanks for reading
**UPDATE** this may or may not make things much easier... but I got download mode working!! so at least there's that, still no custom recovery and i'm currently looking for a KDZ or TOT file to flash via lg flash tool... hopefully that makes things easier..
When you say you got to the factory recovery, what was that, an Android on its side or something asking you to factory reset your device? If it was the factory reset screen, if you select yes and then yes, it will take you to TWRP if you have it installed. If you don't it will factory reset your device.

To boot into recovery from power off, you hold volume down & power. When you see the LG logo release and press power while continuing to hold volume down. Then as said above, it come up as a factory reset, select yes each time, and it should boot into twrp, providing you installed it correctly.

it was a screen asking me to do a factory reset, i click yes, it asks to confirm, i click yes again and then it "successfully" factory resets my phone... it shows the android factory reset symbol that its resetting, then says that its "optimizing apps" and goes through that whole process.. but when it finally loads the "welcome" screen (so i know for a fact that some sort reset has taken place) i get the same "systemui has crashed" error and the OS is unusable and won't connect to my computer.. idk why i can't access TWRP.. i booted to it 3 times before this happened, though never by the hardware buttons on the phone.. everytime i booted to TWRP i had used ADB to boot to TWRP.. what makes me the most sad is that i have a nandroid backup on my SD card... but i can't flash it without recovery.. which i can't install on the phone without getting into the OS..
is there any way to install TWRP or even boot to a temporary TWRP so that i can do so? if i can flash my nandroid i'm saved.. if i can get into a custom recovery i'm saved.. if i can find a .kdz file to flash, i'm saved... if i can get my phone to be recognized by my computer/adb i'm saved.... there simply has to be a way to unbrick this phone...

well i seem to have somehow NOT installed TWRP correctly because it just proceeds to factory reset my phone.. which for some odd reason doesn't reset the DPI... leaving me stranded... is there any way to get ADB to see my device in its present state? my computer makes the device recognition noise when i enter download mode and i can see it in device manager but not my computer or ADB
I've had this phone just over 2 months but I'm not positive, is download mode the same as the bootloader on this device? If so, fastboot commands should work, and you can flash TWRP again, or do 'fastboot boot TWRP_filename' and it will boot TWRP temporarily.
Oh, and the factory reset just wipes your data, but otherwise doesn't restore your system to factory state. That's why your dpi change remained.

dude.. then what good is a factory reset?!? like seriously... and yeah, i tried that but i can't get adb to connect in download mode.. the device doesn't show up when I type "adb devices" like it did when i first rooted it. ... and i thought i followed the instructions exactly as it was laid out from this link.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-lg-v10/general/guide-how-to-root-lg-v10-easy-t3274699
i think somewhere in there i must have missed something and ended up only booting into twrp temporarily.. which is certainly possible since i never boot to twrp during that initial process from the hardware keys or soft keys.. always through adb.. the phone was already plugged in.. typing the command was a couple keys away..
is there anyway to get TWRP on to the phone now? or am i screwed :'(
Well, it is a factory restore for the average user, because the average person isn't modifying their system. But no, I'm sure you're not screwed. If you're in the bootloader you can't use adb, you're already past that step, so you can skip to the fastboot part. What happens when you type fastboot devices? If the phone shows up then you can either fastboot flash or boot TWRP..

from what screen should i be attempting this? hold volume up with phone off and plug in to computer to enter download mode? should i try it at the factory reset screen (volume down plus power)? those are the only two screens i seem to have access to.. in download mode my pc/adb just doesn't recognize the phone.. it doesn't show up as a proper device like it did before this whole thing and in that factory reset mode i get nothing.. the download mode seems like its built for LG and runs from different drivers because in device manager it shows up with an error code that it couldn't start the device (this was not the case when i was using adb to unlock the bootloader and then using the bootloader to boot to TWRP..) what am i missing?

No problem buddy, and sorry for the confusion. You want to be on the bootloader screen, so here is what you can do: turn the phone off(or remove the battery if you have to, and put it back in), plug the usb cable into the computer only(not phone), hold volume down on phone, plug the usb cable into the phone. That should get you into the bootloader, and then you should be able to fastboot flash or fastboot boot TWRP.

@ngoblirsch Along with the information provided in these suggestions and what you have said, you need to reinstall your LG/fastboot drivers on your PC while in fastboot mode

I spent all damn day yesterday trying to figure out how to get to the bootloader on this phone.. everything i read online said to hold volume down PLUS power while plugging it in and it was NOT working lmao. dude, thank you so much. after i read that comment here it took me about 30 seconds to connect to adb and boot to TWRP. Well I appreciate the encouragement, it sure seems to have helped! Issue has been resolved. ended up that i just didn't know the hardware key combination to get to the bootloader/fastboot mode without being already connected to adb. nothing that i could find online said to hold volume down while plugging it in to a computer. as soon as i was able to do so i connected to adb and it was a breeze from there; I am now back with an OS AND a customer recovery properly installed on the device!! I will be hanging around these forums for as long as i have this phone so i'm sure i'll bump into you guys! absolutely love the community here on XDA, you guys are freaking awesome!!

Ok, I just want to know if my phone is hard bricked, or if I still have a chance...
I tried to install an update (121 to 170 for plk-l01) on my rooted phone, with local update. It didn't worked, twrp show errors everywhere, and after turning off know i can't access the recovery. when I press on vol+/- and power for 10-15 second, it vibrate but nothing else.
Is there anything I can do ? my phone isn't recognized by my computer, by the way...
Why you did that? You can't update rooted phone

Try to boot into fastboot (phone turned off - connect with data usb to the computer - vol down + power on). Extract rom which is currently installed or higher (for your respective model) and flash from it:
fastboot.exe flash boot BOOT.img
fastboot.exe flash recovery RECOVERY.img
fastboot.exe flash cust CUST.img
fastboot.exe flash system SYSTEM.img
Reboot.

Thanks, but unfortunately, it just 'boot' as others reboots. it vibrates, doesn't get recognize and doesn't turn on...
If anyone have any clue on how to force recognizing the phone storage, it might really help ^^
That is what my phone is doing, I tried to upgrade to marshmallow though with no root!! I put the zip in the dload folder and went through the upgrade process everything went through the phone rebooted and now its dead. Blank screen and if you hold power after a few seconds it will vibrate but that is it. I presume its hard bricked? no matter what combo of buttons I press I cannot get it in to fastboot.

ok I'm looking for a solution for hours now... so I just lokked how works our phone and I think the trouble must be in the preloader, because I can't even make my phone being recognized by any computer and I can't access to recovery.
I found this :
http://www.droidgyan.com/soft-brick-vs-hard-bricked-vs-broken/
Which could help. I'll leave that topic on for some days (if it could help someone) and I'll open a new one to know if there is any easier solution ! thanks and good luck.
I sorted mine, it was only 2 days old so I got it replaced by the shop I bought it on. I would say it was something like a pre loader from what I saw. I have never bricked an Android phone and I must have had 15-20 of them since my first HTC Magic and before that Windows Mobile which again I messed with tons reloading with all sorts of ROM's!! These phones are wayyyy too sensitive to being messed with, I always remember though that you never mess with the boot loaders, but it looks like these updates do to get it bricked to that point.

Do you have adb debugging activated on the phone? Did you try to hold phone buttons long enough?

Euuum..... maybe yes ? I used fastboot but I don't think it really matters now, there's nothing working on it. And I've sometimes hold the buttons for 30-40 second while praying lol

I just hard bricked my Honor 7 the same way. Is there really no solution? Other China-Phones are pretty much unbrickable, since you can always fix it via the preloader. No such luck here? Back to the shop and hope they actually replace it? While I admit it was stupid to just hastily start the OTA while having twrp and not stock recovery (no root, though), this is a terrible design flaw on Huaweis side.
Anyway... any hope or no chance?
i just hard bricked my honor 7 PLK-L01
it the same thing it is doing . not recognized by the computer
tried all the combination of buttons. but no hope
and it only vibrates when tried to turn on
Need urgent help please
@Idiocrate try to boot into bootloader mode just by pressing Vol DOWN button and simultaneously connecting it to a PC, don't press Power button, if it boots into it, then follow the method given by @piskr in third post.
"Erasing" Loop - Tried Returning to Stock After Converting to US998 from H933
I rooted my phone using LGUP and tried to switch back to stock; hoping to keep root. I flashed all items except "recovery" but then tried to re-flash just the stock recovery, as stated in on one of the posts I found, and now I think I have a paper weight. I made sure to read the instructions a few times before doing things, but guess I missed something, or the instructions I followed aren't for my version or may be outdated?!
I can't get into download mode. The PC doesn't recognize I've even plugged it in. And now it just keeps boot looping showing the Erasing Circle over and over and over.
Anyone here know if I have any hope that once the battery dies, I could plug it in, holding the volume up, and be able to get into download mode? I'm hoping I can... Not a happy camper right now.
I see the thread title now. Let me respond in a few minutes.

You didn't root your phone with LGUP. You rooted your phone with TWRP and Magisk. You used LGUP to convert to US998 so you would have fastboot flash commands to unlock bootloader and install TWRP, so you could then root with Magisk.
Why don't you ask in thread where you were following the directions? Yes, it is tedious and complicated for the H933 -- but the end result is you WANT TWRP custom recovery and Magisk, but you want to eradicate all traces of US998 firmware.
I still don't have any answer to my question though...

I appreciate you taking the time to reply. You are correct in saying I didn't root with LGUP. I mistyped/misspoke. There are so many threads that I read, I can't find the one I was following. I had 15 tabs opened; I freaked out, and so I created a new thread for my problem. My problem doesn't really involve any particular thread now because it's not even booting up - in order for me to do anything.
I see the LG logo.. then sometimes I see the stupid bootloader warning, then back to LG logo for a few seconds and then it says "Erasing" in bold vibrant colouring.. then it shades out barely visible for 10-15 secs. Turns off, then basically repeats.
I know about all the flashable zips for H933.... but ALL of them say NOT to use them to convert back from US998 to H933.
Here is a thread (step 5) which basically everyone else posts also, that says you flash the kdz - everything except recovery - and twrp should be installed. This is not true. I did this about 6 times and could never boot into recovery afterwards. It would erase the phone and go back into setup mode each and every time.
I couldn't find any article to explain how to get back to stock firmware without using the kdz, which I did, and unselecting recovery. When doing so, twrp was gone - despite me not selecting recovery or even recovery.bak sometimes. So what I did was, use LGUP again with the kdz and uncheck everything except recovery and recovery.bak the 2nd time around and bam... now I am stuck.

Who said you couldn't use H933 after US998? You're fine if you use partition DL.
I have gone from US998 to H933 several times.
I'm currently on my commute to work but let me read your issues and see if we can't get you back to normal.
( I'm pretty active in modding our H933 )
Don't touch recovery.bak; only deselect recovery.
So where are you currently?
And after you pull your phone from PC after not selecting recovery are you pulling your phone and trying to master reset to access recovery or letting LGUP auto boot into twrp? Should happen as soon as H933 attempts to boot.

Have you tried Master Reset to stop the boot looping? Master Reset is not factory reset.
Master Reset -- using buttons:
1. Unplug phone and turn it OFF.
2. Press and hold the Power and Volume down buttons.
3. When the LG logo appears, quickly release the Power button only -- then immediately press Power button again, while STILL pressing the Volume down button until you see the screen to select Yes to erase and reset everything.
4. Release both buttons so you can make your choices.
With your device powered off, press and hold the Power button and Volume Down buttons simultaneously for a few seconds.
When the LG logo appears, quickly release and then re-hold the Power button while keep holding the Volume Down button.
Let go of the buttons when the onscreen menu appears.
When you see the option to Delete all user data (including LG and carrier apps) and reset all settings message prompt, press the Volume Down button to highlight Yes.
Then press the Power button to reset the device.
Wait until the reset is complete then reboot your device. If it’s able to boot up successfully, proceed with the initial setup.

You can even do it if you can not power the device off, but you just have to time it right.
This is the most complete guide of what you were probably trying to do, if trying to go back to stock and keep root:

@christopherrrg wrote a "little guide" for the peoples, who may ever have thought about going back to h33 original (rooted or not) sw. Give him some thanks pls, he's now a few nerves lost in this procedure i can imagine :good: thanks!
Here it is:
Okay so the steps below are for AFTER using the WTF thread to convert device and unlock bootloader; these steps are for canadian model users who would prefer to go back to stock canadian kdz with working root and twrp intact.
Step 1 - Attach converted US998 (bl unlocked and twrp installed) to LGUP.
Step 2 - PARTITION DL the canadian kdz but do not include recovery.
Step 3 - Let phone boot right from kdz flash and it will automatically boot TWRP.
Step 4 - While in TWRP; 1st factory reset AND AFTER format data then reboot recovery. (If not done TWRP has mount issues with cache and or system.)
Step 5 - After TWRP is rebooted flash no-verity-opt-encrypt-6.0.zip + lg-rctd-disabler-1.0.zip and afterwards flash magisk.
Step 6 - While still in TWRP use the option to power device down.
Step 7 - Attach device to PC while holding vol+ and it will automatically start download mode.
Step 8 - PARTITION DL the canadian kdz again EXCEPT uncheck everything BUT stock recovery; let it flash and reboot.
Step 9 - Should reboot 3 - 4 times.
Step 10 - Once booted to setup; get past then activate USB debugging, also open magisk and click yes as many times as it asks you. (Magisk remains because only RECOVERY is flashed at this point)
Step 11 - Download TWRP and rename to just twrp then place it in the root directory of your internal storage.
Step 11 - Connect device to android debug bridge, and start a shell with 'adb shell' command.
Step 12 - then type 'su' and hit enter in order to gain root privilege. (Will have to click accept on super user on device)
Step 13 - then type 'dd if=/sdcard/twrp.img of=/dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/recovery'
If done correctly you should see flashing (almost like fastboot) however you will not have anything happen to your device graphically SO open magisk and click modules then click reboot to recovery and profit!
You should be on H933 kdz with TWRP and root.
However for some weird reason, cloud is correct as the battery drain is abysmal. My phone used to go from 9am 100% to about 60% by the time I get home at 5pm. Today it's gone down to 22% from 100% at 9am and it's only 2pm. @cloud1250000's brain was mostly picked for this so he deserves any and all credit; I just confirmed and wrote this up for reference.
Enjoy!

Also; I realize my guide in seadersn posts need a bit of an update so I will message him today and have him update as a ton of people are using it for reference and that guide has battery issues. (Without doing dd etc)
Try following this guide to the letter.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-v30/how-to/canadian-h933-compatibility-h930-roms-t3897586
Just replace the latest with 20i (h933)
Make sure to read my post inclusive at the end of that thread; feel free to PM me as well if you can't get anything the way you want it.
Unfortunately I can't do anything with the phone when I connect to my PC with the USB cable - except when holding power and both Cole buttons, i can get it to load a page with the imei number etc.
I can also (by holding power and toggling both volumes) get it to recognize on my PC, but it shows up at QSLoader 9008 (or something like that - I'm at work right now so can't type exactly what it shows up as - but know 100% it says 9008).
I installed QPST and will see if I can flash it this way, after I figure out a way to create/find the firehouse. I found a YT video showing how to create the files needed so will give it ago when I get home.
I am grateful of the replies. I'm sure you get many idiots like myself who do stupid crap - so thank you for always still wanting to help. It must be annoying but us idiots are truly grateful!!

This sounds like what had happened to me with the RSA after flashing modem.bin. I only got lucky because my TWRP flashed successfully and I was able to restore using seadersn stock method. I've never gone as far as actually putting my device into 9008 brick (yet) so unfortunately I'm not much help there and for that I'm sorry. However there is a gent on ebay who will TeamViewer to your PC and fix it for you. A lot of people report it has a different device firmware but they do report success.
Also don't beat yourself up and call yourself an idiot.
Us humans are curious creatures! While it does suck for your device; it's just a speed bump!
