WARNING!! FOR EXPERTS ONLY! YOU'VE BEEN WARNED! THIS IS NOT A SIMPLE CLICK AND DONE. IT MAY FRUSTRATE YOU!
This may or may not work for you, don't be surprised if it doesn't. Also Tethering may or may not be supported by your carrier. Data Plan recommended! @@
Your Mobile carrier may charge tethering fees, Continue at your own risk!
I suggest you read the whole thing before you action, and also please bare with my english, as it is my 3rd language.
Tether via Terminal: (Thanks lophyte for this great guide)
http://forum.cyanogenmod.com/topic/...-gtab-to-your-blackberry-phone-via-bluetooth/
I did not develop any apps or any scripts of any kind.
This was all done with some extensive research and alot of Trial and Error.
But with the little information I found out there, I was able to find some pretty interesting things.
I found this app called Q5 DUN, which was designed for an Old Internet Tablet called the SmartQ5 and ran Android 1.5.....
Therefore support is very limited, and there was only 2 updates back in 2009.
Also, I will be quoting guides out there, but I will properly credit the author for their efforts & findings. (Mostly lophyte )
Also would like to Thank RimDroid helping me with the research.

What you need:
-ALOT OF PATIENCE!
- Rooted Android Tablet ( I'm using a HP TouchPad )
- Android 2.3.7 (Reported by nihjar that it works on ICS!!)
- Blackberry Mobile Device with DUN Profile. ( I'm using BB Bold 9700 with OS 6 installed ) *Other Mobile's may work, need further testing*
- Terminal app
- Root Explorer app
- Super User app
- Q5 Bluetooth Dial Up Network app by wsoft2002
- Berry4All Scripts
- Chat Binary compiled by lophyte (Originally compiled for GTab, but works on my HP Touchpad) or you can compile one, link in lophyte's guide. **NOTE**(Reported by nihjar that it works on ICS!!)
Currently there are two ways to tether BT:
Option 1: Using the Q5 Bluetooth Dial Up Network app and modifying the Build.prop <-- Easiest Method, but buggy! But once configured, works perfectly!
Option 2: Running terminal commands <-- Connecting Manually thru Linux commands.
We will be installing both options in this guide.

- Make sure DUN is enabled on your BB ( Search google for guides on this )
Step 1: Download and Install on Android
-Install Root Explorer (if you don't have it already)
-Install Terminal (if you don't have it already)
-Install Q5 DUN http://android.gval.biz/
Step 2: Download the following on your PC
Berry4All Scripts Here
Chat Binary compiled by lophyte to Tether with Gtab Link to his Guide Here

Download the berry4all package and find the config for your provider.
Berry4all is a Linux bluetooth tethering package that contains various pppd configurations for mobile providers. If your provider is not available in this package, you'll need to Google around for a proper pppd config and chatscript to allow you to tether to your blackberry or other mobile phone.

-Create a new folder which you will be placing the following files to better manage them.
-Copy the Chat binary file into the new folder.
-Extract bbtether and find the 2 files in /conf/ that corresponds to your mobile network, and copy those 2 files into the new folder. In this guide I will be using Rogers as an example. In this case, rogers & rogers-chat

Modify the configurations
I haven't looked at the configs for the other providers, but the Rogers config needed a little bit of modification. The following line in my ppp peer config file needed to be changed:
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
Step 3:Modify the configurations
-Open rogers in a text editor ( I recommend Notepad ++)
-Find the line
connect "/usr/sbin/chat -f conf/rogers-chat
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
& change this line to:
connect "/system/bin/chat -f /etc/ppp/chatscripts/rogers-chat"
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
*NOTE* Edit the rogers-chat to which ever mobile provider you are using
-Find the line with 'novj' and place a # in front of it. Or Delete it, which ever is fine.
Your File should look like this:
# Tested by Max Taranukha

noipdefault
defaultroute
#nomultilink
ipcp-restart 7
ipcp-accept-local
ipcp-accept-remote
lcp-echo-interval 0
lcp-echo-failure 999

pap-restart 20
lcp-restart 10

#debug debug debug
# does not exist in all pppd versions (osx)
#replacedefaultroute
connect "/system/bin/chat -f /etc/ppp/chatscripts/rogers-chat"
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
**NOTE** Change UserName & Password that matches your APN settings.**
-Save and Exit.
Step 4:Now its time to copy these files to our Routed Android Devices.
-You will need to use Root Explorer to copy these files to your device, or Adb Push. ( Lookup the forums for on how to )
-Copy chat binary into /system/bin/ overwrite if prompt.
-Copy your mobile config files into these folders respectively.
a) rogers-chat -> /etc/ppp/peers (create this folders if it doesn't exist)
b) rogers -> /etc/ppp/chatscripts (create this folder if it doesn't exist}
-Reboot Device
-Once rebooted, you will need to pair your mobile device to your android device. Delete the profiles if it already exist, & pair again. (BT is buggy)
-Keep Bluetooth On.
Now here comes the most frustrating part... connecting!
Step 5:Configuring Q5 DUN
The best and easiest way to find you DUN MAC and Channel is using Q5 IMO,
but you can also use Linux commands. ( Terminal Tether guide above )
-Make sure you turn on BT, as this app does not toggle the BT on.
-Use this guide by wsoft2002 to configure Q5http://android.gval.biz/Q5_Bluetooth_DUN_installations.php
-In the Dial-Up Script, this is where the rogers-chat come into play.
-Open rogers-chat (your provider) file in Text Editor via Root Explorer.
-Select all Text and Copy in the the Dial-Up Script.
Your Dial-Up should look like this:
TIMEOUT 10
ABORT 'BUSY'
ABORT 'NO ANSWER'
ABORT 'ERROR'
SAY 'Starting GPRS connect script\n'
'' 'BBT_OS'
'' 'ATZ'
SAY 'Setting APN\n'
OK 'AT+CGDCONT=1,"IP","internet.com"'
ABORT 'NO CARRIER'
SAY 'Dialing...\n'
OK 'ATD*99#'
CONNECT
# Without ~p it does NOT continue passed Connect !!
~p
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
*Note the "internet.com", this is where you put your mobile APN. ( Google search if your mobile is not in the bbtether folder ) or settings on your phone.
**Note that the 'ATD*99#' will differ depending on the carrier. You can try 'ATD*99***1#' if that doesn't work, (try to google 'your carrier' ATD)
***Thanks to Nijhar he found out that on Telus Network, ~p causes connection issues in Q5, so this may vary for you. (Trial and Error!)
****NEW**** Found * Another way to find you isp APN settings, using Blackberry Desktop Software, and plugging in the mobile device, you can browse all authorized BB carriers.
-Save Configuration & Hit connect to Test it out.
Allow the connection and checkmark 'Do not show again'
If you get 'PPP Connection is UP!' GREAT! Skip to Step 7.
-If you get 'PPP Failed to connect' then obviously it didn't work.
Now there are a few factors that causes PPP failed to connect.
a) Q5 not setup properly, I suggest you double check your settings.
b) Pairing problems, or Trust permissions. Re-Pairing might fix it.
c) Remove or Add ~p from the chat script.
d) Reboot both devices and try again.
e) Tether is not supported by your carrier.
f) Make sure Dial-Up Networking Service is enabled on your phone. in Bluetooth connections>paired devices>Touchpad (May vary depending on BB OS)
Step 6:Testing BT connection in Terminal
Q5 might not work for you, so Terminal will be your next Option.
-Open Terminal and type 'su' for super user rights.
-type the following '# rfcomm bind /dev/rfcomm0 <bluetooth MAC> <channel>'
-then type 'pppd /dev/rfcomm0 call rogers' <- change 'rogers' to your carrier.
-Look at your Blackberry 'Modem Mode Enabled' should appear if it connects.
-If it does not connect, please revise the guide and make sure you have done everything exactly up till now.
-'# killall pppd ' to end the connection
Step 7:Configuring DNS to Google's DNS or of your choise
-In Terminal
-Type 'su'
-Then 'setprop net.dns1 8.8.8.8'
-Next 'setprop net.dns2 8.8.4.4'
*You can put as much as dns4 if you like, but Google's DNS should work fine**
Step 8:Testing Internet Connection
-Browsing
-Youtube
-Facebook
-Apps & Games (Trial & Error)
Step 9:Modifying the build.prop to eliminate setprop net.dns on reboot.
-Add net.dns1=8.8.8.8 & net.dns2=8.8.4.4
Working:
-Browsing the Web
-Streaming Video/Music
-Downloading Files using Opera Browser(Perfect), or xwind downloader app(Not perfect, but will work with any browser). Or use share link to Opera browser to DL using 'Choose Browser app found on the Market' -NEW-
-GO Launcher EX works great! Weather widget, facebook, e-mail etc all works! <~ If you want a fully functional homescreens,widgets etc
-Rogers,Telus & Bell Networks
Not Working:
-Android Market (Browse-able, but can't download anything)
-Google Currents
-Kindle App ( can log-in, but can't browse new books )
-Weather Apps ( News & Weather Works tho )
-Games
-Essentially any apps that cannot detect BT as Internet Source. Unlike most apps keeps trying to connect regardless of the 'available network'.

Simply amazing!! Thank you very much. Was waiting for the ROM update on my BB that would include wireless hotspot. That hasn't happened
Running a Torch 9860 with my rooted Touchpad. Just followed your instructions. Except I did not modify the build.prop file yet. I can't believe how fast this is!

Awesome! Does downloading work for you? and are you using Q5 or Terminal way?
I am using Q5. I only tried the Market. And as you stated, can get there but cannot download apps. As soon as I shut down Q5 and started up wifi, the apps downloaded. I am going to try Google Maps and Navigation to see if they work.
One question...does it matter where you put the net.dns1=8.8.8.8 & net.dns2=8.8.4.4 line in build.prop?
Thanks again and Merry Christmas!

anywhere works.
New Discovery:
Q5 DUN does not require the ppp files (rogers + rogers-chat)
It only requires the chat binary file /system/bin
So if you are not using the terminal way, you can safely delete those files without affecting Q5.
New Discovery 2:
Stock browser,Firefox Beta & Dolphin HD - all three can't download... lol
But...Using Opera Browser, I was able to download files!! Yay! I'm assuming this app does not rely on 'Connectivity Manager'. I'm so happy, as this is the only browser that worked out of 4!
New Findings! Check it Out!
Simply amazing!! 关注中!
Nice Guide Vamp.
Couldn't have done it better myself!
Tried the Amazon Silk Browser
This Browser rocks in terms of browsing speeds!!
Can't download with this browser.. bummer..
New Finding!
I found a Download manager that works with BT.
Xwind Downloader by JasonWong.
By using this DL manager, I can use any browser I want to browse, and use this manager to download!
Hello, I have a question. When you pair you BB to HP Touchpad, does your Bluetooth say paired but not connected? Is that ok, or do I need to fix it somehow for the Tethering to work? So far I'm not able to tether, so I was wondering if that was the problem.
Some info:
Hp Touchpad running cyanogenmod 7
Blackberry Torch 9800 with Rogers and data plan.
Thank you.

Hi Kryal,
It's suppose to say paired but not connected, that's normal.
All I can say is follow my instructions very carefully.
Which method are you using? Terminal or Q5?
Also make sure Dial-Up Networking Service is enabled on your phone. in Bluetooth connections>paired devices>Touchpad

This setting might differ from carrier: 'ATD*99#'
This is the modem command to connect for Rogers.. you will have to find out which one works for you.
Try this one: 'ATD*99***1#'
If that doesn't work, you will need to test on your own, as I am only able to test Canadian carriers.
You can find other ATD commands online, if this one doesn't work.
Hello all,
I figured this tutorial may come in handy to a few people out there since the documentation for getting this to work is quite atrocious.
What this tutorial is:
A step-by-step walkthrough of setting up wpa_supplicant.conf to access advanced networking protocols that we otherwise don't have access to (note, this will ONLY work with root at the moment).
What this tutorial is not:
A wireless troubleshooting thread for any wireless issues not related to wpa_supplicant, EAP-TLS, EAP-TTLS, etc.
Thanks ahead of time.
NOTE: This tutorial will be giving instructions for a Windows 7 machine, but 90% of the code I provide can easily be copied over to Linux/BSD/OSX, just replace with the Bash equivalents.
To begin, you will need a few things:
--ADB, with working drivers, though you don't NEED root access through it it is nice to have, since it cuts the typing in half, and the setup for that can be found here: [App]: ADB Root Hijack [ADB Runs as Root now]
--openSSL, for converting certificates to the proper formats.
Windows instructions: Requires Cygwin, see this link here. This will install several other useful tools, and you'll love Cygwin if you're a power user
Linux/BSD/OSX instructions: install using your favorite repositories or from binaries (in the case of OSX). For Ubuntu/Debian: sudo apt-get install openssl
--You will need access to the Development menu (use an app or the Any Cut app to make a shortcut), as well as Root Browser lite (or Root Explorer).
--Alot of patience, and a bit of time. This should be straightforward, but don't expect a perfect solution for everyone.
1) The most important step, since this will cause you no end of headaches for possibly an hour or two as you trace it down: Go into the Development menu, UNCHECK USB Debugging and RECHECK it, then UNCHECK Auto Mount. So, even if debugging is checked, uncheck and check it anyway. And make SURE Auto Mount is unchecked, otherwise this will automatically install the "normal" NT drivers and screw up the entire process.
2) Plug in the Nook, and bring up the command line (cmd.exe). Run:
Code:
adb devices
If this returns an alphanumeric string (or anything), your device is in and you're good to go. Otherwise, check the other forum topics for troubleshooting (link to come).
3) To begin, we need to convert our tickets to the correct format. For this we will use OpenSSL. To make this easy, I piled all of my working space into a folder in the root of the C: drive, called "certs". For this example, I will assume that you were given a root certificate named rootCA.crt and a private certificate names [email protected].p12 (because I was, for the eduroam worldwide network).
This example also assumes EAP-TLS authentication. To convert the files:
Code:
openssl x509 -in rootCA.crt -out rootCA.der -outform DER
openssl x509 -in rootCA.der -inform DER -out rootCA.pem -outform PEM
then
openssl pkcs12 -in [email protected] -out cert.pem -clcerts -nokeys
openssl pkcs12 -in [email protected] -out key.pem -nocerts
Note: even if your business/Uni doesn't use a separate hashed key normally (For example, the University of Alaska system), you will need it here. Normally a certificate app handles all of this (on AOSP and custom builds).
4) Thanks to good ol' FSTAB, we will have to remount /system so we can read/write to it:
Code:
adb shell
su
mount -o remount,rw /system /system
5) Now, we have three new files: rootCA.pem, cert.pem and key.pem in the C:\certs folder. We push them to their proper directory on the NT:
Code:
adb push rootCA.pem /system/etc/wifi/
adb push cert.pem /system/etc/wifi/
adb push key.pem /system/etc/wifi/
Note: This is where it gets tricky without root ADB access...the option is to push them to "/media/My Files/My Downloads/" (including quotes) and then use a terminal or root browser to move them to /system/etc/wifi/
6) Next, we get to pull wpa_supplicant finally!
Code:
adb pull /system/etc/wifi/wpa_supplicant.conf .
Note: Make sure to include the . at the end, this means 'copy it to the current directory'
7) Open wpa_supplicant.conf in Wordpad (NOT notepad, wrapping issues), and build a profile based on the examples located here.
Here is an edited version of mine, if you use EAP-TLS this will work for you:
Code:
network={
ssid="YourAPNameHere"
scan_ssid=1
key_mgmt=WPA-EAP
pairwise=CCMP TKIP
group=CCMP TKIP
eap=TLS
identity="[email protected]"
ca_cert="/system/etc/wifi/rootCA.pem"
client_cert="/system/etc/wifi/cert.pem"
private_key="/system/etc/wifi/key.pem"
private_key_passwd="yourPassHere"
priority=20
}
Change ssid, identity, and private_key_passwd to your respective information.
NOTE: priority, near the bottom, determines when it will connect to the network when others are around. Compare it to the values of the priority's set in /data/misc/wifi/wpa_supplicant.conf, the higher the value the higher the priority when they're all within range.
Now save and close the file.
8) Now, we push and reboot:
Code:
adb push wpa_supplicant.conf /system/etc/wifi/
then reboot the nook.
Now, after reboot, it should be good to go!
Notice, one bit of trouble I ran into, if you just get "error" when turning on the wireless after reboot, double-check that your certificates are correct and in the correct places, and wpa_supplicant.conf points at them. If thats fine, try erasing /data/misc/wifi/wpa_supplicant.conf, then reboot, and the list will be rebuilt and your AP will automatically connect.
Please let me know if there are any issues with the instructions, it's 6am and I haven't slept more than 8 hours in the last 3 days troubleshooting this, building kernels and playing Skyrim
reserved for future things
Also of note: I'm working on making this into scripts, don't worry everyone. And, if you bork your wifi, I will have a wireless fix in the works too.
Hi
First of all, thanks for this tutorial
I'm pretty sure this should be very straightforward but not to mess this thing up what do I need to change for a network with the following definitions:
Network SSID: eduroam
Security: 802.1x Enterprise
EAP method: PEAP
Phase 2 authentication: MSCHAPV2
Cheers

Hey, it's not a problem at all. Pulled from the source here: NookDevs.com wpa_supplicant.conf I built this skeleton here:
Code:
network={
ssid="eduroam"
scan_ssid=1
key_mgmt=WPA-EAP
pairwise=CCMP TKIP
group=CCMP TKIP
eap=PEAP
identity="[email protected]"
password="YOUR-PASSWORD"
ca_cert="/system/etc/wifi/cacert.pem"
phase1="peapver=0"
phase2="MSCHAPV2" }
As you can see, you'll need to enter your University email in the identity field and your password in the password field, and if you don't have the needed certificates/password/etc you can get that from your local IT office (I would ask to speak with your network technicians though, helpdesk may not have it). Make SURE to read the instructions in that link, the openssl bit is different than the guide above!
Thanks!
On monday I will try that and will report the outcome.
Cheers
Hi.
It worked like a charm! No problem at all.
Thanks!
Cheers
Awesome! Glad to hear it.
Hey there,
first I have to say - I'm new here - and yes, I have searched for my issue in this forum and elsewhere, but I didn't find a solution. So I decided to register here and ask you experts about helping me to fix my problem:
I'm on Epinters-Rom CM 10.1(Android 4.2) (26/08 Built) and having a problem with a fast GPS-Fix. Always when I use GPS the first time a day it lasts about 5-10Min to get a Sat-Fix. I have done some research about this problem and found this:
In a post on a german forum (I'm from Germany) for Defy Froyo and GPS bug I encountered that there are system files that contain specific configurations for GPS or direct downloading instructions of "ancillary data" (such as A-GPS Data). However, there are no configuration files with the name "location" in Epinters-Rom as they are mentioned in this thread, but I noticed a file in my system folder (system / ect / ) called "gps.config".
Doing more research about this file, I found a post here on XDA in epinters CM10.1 thread from August. Here is mentioned, that Epinters "gps.config" has no entry to an so called "NTP server. He made this entry and now the GPS fix is quick. I didnt really see that Epinter commented this, but a year before, Epinter said (at another Rom) that the NTP server entry is no longer necessary (without further explanation).
Then I remembered (coming from Neutrino-Rom) that Neutrino has had an "GPS-Addon" that was separate flashable - a fix for every single country. So I looked at the the GPS addon of Neutrino (Germany) and behold: When flashing this GPS addon it seems, that just the "gps.config" will be fixed with the following entry for Germany:
Code:

Do you think I could risk simply replace the two files? Or is it better to flash the file of neutrino? Or to edit the file by Epinter right? Or at least nothing at all? I do not even want to fabricate a Brick ...
So you techies from this forum! Can you help me?
Thanks for reading this and sorry for my poor english... its not my native language!

Asmaron
PS: The Germany.zip in the appendix contains the files that would be flashed with neutrinos Rom (including the "gps.config"). The other single "gps.config.zip" is that of Epinters Rom. Simply open it in Editor/TextEdit or similar programs and you can see the above entries.

Hey there,
first I have to say - I'm new here - and yes, I have searched for my issue in this forum and elsewhere, but I didn't find a solution.
Code:
Removed long code
Do you think I could risk simply replace the two files? Or is it better to flash the file of neutrino? Or to edit the file by Epinter right? Or at least nothing at all? I do not even want to fabricate a Brick ...

For me, epinter's cm10.1 was the first time gps lock in in about 5 to 10 seconds, even if i was inside my house...
perhaps is better (previous backup) to edit the file and change the ntp servers to match your coutry's pools. then try,..
on cm7 i use an app called gps status to force calibration of the compass and to force inject fresh agps data, which helps a little

Hey!
Thanks for replying!
I use the GPS Status App too (and tried many other GPS Apps in market) and resetted agps-data many times an refreshed it. It helps a little but just for the moment and after one day not using GPS the fix lasts really long...
I would try to edit the "gps.conf" file but I use the Atrix as my main device, so I dont wanna brick it... Do you think, that editing this file will not force an brick? And what do you think is the best:
a) Editing Epinters "gps.conf" (of course after backing up the org. file, and everything else),
b) Exchange Epinters file with Neutrinos, or
c) Flashing Neutrinos "Germany.zip"?
Or even an absolute other solution?

Humm.. I edited the file and had no problems, I think edit is the safer option due to Neutrinos' files are for Gingerbread and we don't know what changed in the middle

Hmm... yeah thats true... so you have edited the file by yourself? What entries did you add? I thought Epinters settings worked for you?

Sorry, that was on Gb, I edited the ntp servers to the ones off my country (Argentina). I was using root explorer at the time, but in cm10 the stock file manager can do it without problems (I used it to edit touchpad.cfg to fix raindrop bug). Only thing is you need to give it access via the app settings (can't remember as I'm back on cm7)
Hey!
Meanwhile I flashed the ROM from "Zn7mkUKzN1r8aCIV" where the flash is working. The fix lasts also very long and wasnt even stable. The entries of the "gps.conf" of "Zn7mkUKzN1r8aCIV" are exactly the same as the ones of epinter. So i tried to edit the "gps.conf":
- Editing the strings from the neutrino file (check OP), had the result that i didnt get a fix in even a half an hour.
- Restoring the "gps.conf" has the result of getting a fix after some minutes but not very stable.
- Now I have a edit of the "gps.conf" with the strings nlabrad mentioned in the post i told you before and the NTP-Server-Entries of Neutrino for germany (without blanks between the "="). Now i get a fix after some minutes that is stable, but the accuracy gets not better than 100 meters (328 feet). It stucks here and gets not better even after more than half an hour having a stable fix. To be exact it gets not better and not even worser. It stucks exactly at 100 meter accuracy.
Now i will test the GPS fix from that is mentioned here and i will report later!

Asmaron
Did it!
Hey there!
I did it!
First it didn't work to exchange the "libnmea.so" from Krystian mentioned in the post above using the integrated file explorer. I allways got an Error when editing/copying/deleting the orig. "libnmea.so" in the "system/lib" folder. After that error somtimes GPS didn't work anymore at all (cant start it) or nothing was changed to the accuracy of the GPS. Well I have seen that by exchanging the file you have to set the permissions new (chmod 644) but I wasn't able to change it without getting an error.
So I tried another way: I extracted the Files of Zn7mkUKzN1r8aCIV's ROM and exchanged the "libnmea.so" org. file with the file from Krystian. I also replaced the "gps.conf" with an modified "gps.conf" containing the Neutrinos Strings from the Germany "gps.conf". Than I ziped and signed the modified files with LambOfGods Zip Signer Tool (v1.1) and flashed it (wiped Cache & Dalvik).
And now: Get a GPS-Fix (indoor) in about 45 sec with an accuracy of about 4 meters! YEAH! :victory:
Thanks for helping! Esp. thanks to you andresrivas and of course Zn7mkUKzN1r8aCIV and Krystian and so on!

hI! I'm having hard time to understand exactly what you did to fix GPS accuracy. I'm the guy who asked Zn7mkUKzN1r8aCIV about the bug and I tried to overwrite the libnmea.so but it didn't work.... (I've had to flash again the rom to get back to 100m accuracy) Can you explain in a easier D) way how to fix it? I understand that you made a flashable zip maybe can you share it?
Hey there!
Well what I did exactly is:
1) Downloaded Zn7mkUKzN1r8aCIV's ROM (from 10/10/13) and extract it
2) Downloaded "libnmea.so" from Krystian
3) Replaced Zn7mkUKzN1r8aCIV's original "libnmea.so" in folder "system/lib/" with Krystian's one
4) Edited the "gps.conf" of Zn7mkUKzN1r8aCIV in folder "system/etc/" with the strings of Neutrinos "gps.conf" for germany (!) mentioned above *
5) Ziped and signatured the GPS-modified ROM files with "LambOfGods Zip Signer Tool (v1.1)" mentioned above
6) Wiped Cache & Dalvik - Flashed and GPS worked
I've uploaded my GPS-modified ROM with the german (!) "gps.conf" here:
Based on Zn7mkUKzN1r8aCIV's ROM 10/10/13 wich is based on Epinters ROM with modified GPS files for Germany from Krystian and Neutrino

I can't edit the "gps.conf" for every single county. Thats to much work. But you can do that on your own! I uploaded the files of Neutrionos "gps.conf"-Tweak here so you can download it and take the strings that you need for your country. In your case, I would do the following:
1) Download my GPS-modified ROM
2) Flash it, reboot and try out GPS - I will not take any responsibility for defects of your hardware! You flash it on your own risk!
2.a) If it works fast, its proofed that Neutrinos Strings in the "gps.conf" has no real effect - you can go to step 8
2.b) If it doesn't work (fast) you go to step 3
3. Download Neutrino GPS-Files and extract them
4. Choose the "gps.conf" that is related to your country (always stored in "system/etc/" folder of the zip-file of your country) and open it with editor
5. Edit the strings in the "gps.conf" on your Atrix (folder "system/etc/" - you will see, there are the german strings) with the ones of your country from the Neutrino File (make sure that there are no blanks between the " = " of each string**)
6. Save your edited "gps.conf" of the folder "system/etc" & check (imperative!) that the rights of the file are set on chmod 644!
7. Reboot and try out GPS
8. (Hopefully) Enjoy!
I hope it works! Looking forward to hear your report!
Regards,
Asmaron
* It is not proofed that this has any effect, but I think so, and now I have a GPS-Fix in almost a half minute.
** The effect of this is also not proofed! What I mean is type e.g.
Code:
NTP_SERVER=0.de.pool.ntp.org
instead of
Code:
NTP_SERVER = 0.de.pool.ntp.org
Hey! Did it work for you?
If not i have another suggestion:
Download my modified GPS-ROM, flash it (on your own risk), download the app "faster GPS" from playstore, choose your country settings in the app. It will modify the "gps.conf" and will set the NTP-Server settings for your country and region.
Maybe it helps... would be glad if you report here!

Asmaron

Came across this searching for a fix on my recent ICSROM update. I had to do the same thing when I first root/unlocked to install MROM, so that certainly helped. I noticed that the files sizes were identical, and not to the GB files, as one would expect. Anway, the issue manifested as GPS apps showing 0 accuracy, and WiFi-disabled Google Maps showing 1200m accuracy. After updating the file and chmod, it was showing ~7m accuracy.
Yup works a-ok...

I meant '7ft accuracy' above. Anyway, I tested on my way to work this morn; locked at 5ft. I did see a couple times when it lost the lock and jumped around the map, but was brief. And I recall seeing that happen on the GB rom too.
Dear sir,
I have Sony SL, actually i have a problem with wifi as inserting sim card. I read many topics to find that is a common issue.
Some member has a fix. I fllowed their instruction but to no avail.
As i run the script, this happen :
Error resolving interpreter: /bin/sh does not exist
Using default shell
Exec sh '/sdcard/fix_country_code'
Fix_country_code'
Error: unable to open database "/data/data/com.android.providers.settings/databases/settings.db": unable to open database file
Killed
Killed
Orginally posted by DKTigra:
I wrote a short script (tried to run as init.d - but it has no sense as country code is beeing read from simcard when all init.d scripts are finished), so i used free Script Manager - SManager (https://play.google.com/store/apps/d....scriptmanager) to launch script after boot.
That's script code (just changed wifi_country_code location):
Code:
#!/bin/sh
sleep 10
sqlite3 /data/data/com.android.providers.settings/databases/settings.db "INSERT INTO global (name, value) VALUES ('wifi_country_code', 'EU');"
svc wifi disable
sleep 10
svc wifi enable
Also i've added sleep for 10 seconds for ensure that sim data is already read, and added wifi down - sleep - wifi up for reestablish network connection (as i'm using n/g network for old devices, so Nexus is connected in g-mode to my router when script is executed).
Instruction:
1. Download sqlite3 binary from any source (I've got it from xda http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...29&postcount=2) and move it to /system/xbin, set permissions 755 (rwx-rx-rx)
2. Save script to internal SD-card, f.e. as "fix_country_code.sh",
3. Install script-manager, that is able to run scripts on boot, and set to execute script with root rights (like on screenshot if SManager is used). Also it's possible to test script w/o reboot
Please help me

i get frist error
Start .sh not found plzzz help me bro
Same here pal!
The person who posted this method is my frnd on FB , whenever I tried to connect he ignored my text.
Stucked at the same..
So I was having the same error as the couple people above me, but I was able to get Reaver to recognize where my files were. I moved it off of the SD card to: /data/data/com.bcmon.bcmon
Then I manually typed in the location path of my .sh files:
/data/data/com.bcmon.bcmon/start.sh
/data/data/com.bcmon.bcmon/warm.sh
/data/data/com.bcmon.bcmon/stop.sh
Obviously you'll want to put in whatever you named those files there.
So I've gotten past that hurtle. I am however stuck with this new set of errors now, although it will allow me to progress to "start attack".
I'm new so the site is preventing me from posting these links normally but here are the two errors I'm getting:
Code:
Stdout: rfasuccess
StdErr: Control the Wi-Fi manager
usage: svc wifi [enable|disable]
Turn Wi-Fi on or off
./data/data/com.bcmon.bcmon/start.sh[4]: sh : not found
./data/data/com.bcmon.bcmon/start.sh[5]: cd: /data/data/com.bcmon.bcmon/files/tools : no such file or directory
.data/data/com.bcmon.bcmon/start.sh[6]: ./enable_bcmon : not found
After this I am able to progress and next see:
Code:
tmp-mksh: <stdin>[3]: sh: not found
error: only position independent executables (PIE) are supported.
Any suggestions?

Libcap.so.1 error please sort it out soon..
Does anyone managed to solve this?
Your scripts shebang points to /bin/bash you could try changing to #!/system/bin/sh which should hopefully solve the sh not found error. More recent android versions force pie executables as a tool to help lower hack risks, the option there is to try to bypass pie systemwide or get a pie executable. Libcap error is due to the file not being present I'm not sure if your app is supposed to include it but it's not a standard android library.
Hey please help can I use in Micromax canvas nitro A310

Well, i struggled for half a day relentlessly and finally got Reaver Working on my Xiaomi Mi4 android phone with a big help from the below mentioned link , everything is going good and fine, i got the Reaver app working on my Rooted app without bcmon and it worked and i'm ready to hack the network but just as i bypassed "Test Monitor" successfully(by loading a few scripts and debugging) and hit "Start Attack" this thing showed up, below i've written down the issue as it appeared since i'm not allowed to post screenshots & Links untill i make 10 posts(i'm a new user) and the scripts that i used to bypass Test Monitor are attached below, i'm basically a noob but good at technical things, the guide mentioned in the below link isn't as easy as it is told there, there are a few more steps that aren't added in the guide!!
HELP URGENTLY!!!! I waisted a whole day trying to get it working, i'd be so grateful :laugh: if you could help me out with it! PLEASE!! :crying:
Here are those scripts i loaded and put the phone on debug mode
Custom activation script:
#!/bin/bash
svc wifi disable
LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/data/data/com.bcmon.bcmon/files/libs
LD_PRELOAD=/data/data/com.bcmon.bcmon/files/libs/libfake_driver.so sh
cd /data/data/com.bcmon.bcmon/files/tools
./enable_bcmon
echo “rfasuccess”
exit
Custom Warm-up Script
#!/bin/bash
LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/data/data/com.bcmon.bcmon/files/libs
LD_PRELOAD=/data/data/com.bcmon.bcmon/files/libs/libfake_driver.so sh
cd /data/data/com.bcmon.bcmon/files/tools
Custom stop Script:
#!/bin/bash
svc wifi enable
echo “rfasuccess”
1. this happened first but i continued anyway.
Stdout:
"rfa success"

2. and then this happened in the processing window
sh: <stdin>[3]: sh: not found
CANNOT LINK EXECUTABLE: could not load library "libcap.so.1" needed by "./reaver"; caused by library "libcap.so.1" not found
3. and finally when i hit stop, this message showed up
Stdout:
?rfasuccess?
StdErr:

7.Open root explorer and browse to the bcmon apk.
8.Select it and press view.
9.Open assets.
10.Copy all the files to /Data/data/com.bcmon.bcmon/files.
#If any file or folder of the same name is found then delete it#
/Now you’ll have to add custom scripts that I have given below(just copy them in a note editor and save with a .sh extension)
Start script-
Start script- mentioned above in custom start script
Warm script- mentioned above in custom warm up script
Stop script- mentioned above in custom stop script
#Now open root explorer

Possible Fix for libcap.so.1 problem
By moving "libcap.so.1", "libsqlite3.so.0" from "/data/data/com.bcmon.bcmon/files/libs" to "/system/lib" and setting the wifi-interface in the "Monitor-Mode settings" to "wlan0". I was able to solve the "libcap.so.1" error.
Straight afterwards, I got the "<stdin>[3] : not found" error.
By changing the "start.sh" script from :
Code:
#!/bin/bash
svc wifi disable
LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/data/data/com.bcmon.bcmon/files/libs
LD_PRELOAD=/data/data/com.bcmon.bcmon/files/libs/libfake_driver.so sh
cd /data/data/com.bcmon.bcmon/files/tools
./enable_bcmon
echo “rfasuccess”
exit
--to--
Code:
#!/bin/bash
svc wifi enable
LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/data/data/com.bcmon.bcmon/files/libs
LD_PRELOAD=/data/data/com.bcmon.bcmon/files/libs/libfake_driver.so sh
cd /data/data/com.bcmon.bcmon/files/tools
./enable_bcmon
echo “rfasuccess”
exit
I was able to pass the "<stdin>[3] : not found" error but now it is stuck on "Waiting for beacon from <Mac Address here>".
I've tried multiple router and waited around 15 minutes on that screen for each router with my phone next to them but it will not get pass that line.
Galaxy s3 i9300 here.
script errors
start.sh, warm.sh and stop.sh are not functioning properly, I am stuck at the same stage as you are and a can't even run the scripts on the terminal emulator.
I have tried granting permissions to the scripts but is is giving errors, if you enable "debug mode", you will see that not even one command is being issued without errors.

No app in market that can hack wifi password.
Don't waste time.
New wifi routers have WPA 2PSK highest security current time. To crack this type of password may take 2 mintues to many of years depend on which type of character and length have been chosen. All the procedure of cracking password done on linux platform.
In my opinion there are lots of apps on playstore are fake promising to crack wifi password.
Because wifi wpa2psk generate new reandoms keys with 24 or more characters changes with time to time (2-5 sec). And this keys doesn't not save in android in any way. So, how can you say this app hack wifi passwords.
If wifi router has WEP protected security then it can be easily cracked in 2 min any password.
