Hello,
This is my first post on this great forum, and being very new to android and rooting I have a so called noob question(s). I purchased an LG Optimus L9 P768, with ICS 4.0.4, software version: P76810b-446-92, kernel version: 3.0.21, Baseband version: L6260_MODEM_SIC_01.1230.00. I have read a lot of posts, and I know that cmahendra did some guides to root the phone. I haven't tried to root my phone, since I'm starting to document about the process, and my question is can I put on my phone with P768 v10b the P760 v10H version? Do I need to folow one of cmahendra's guides to do this? Please answer, sincer I'm quite in a blur. Good day.

You shouldn't flash P760 kdz on your phone. Please read more at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2242239

Thank you.
My P768 came with V10B, I upgraded to V10E and then rooted. If there is a newer version for your region, I recommend upgrading before rooting.

LG released the v20a for the P500 here in Brazil in the beginning of August. I was wondering if anyone has already tried it?
Wrong thread!
Please post this sort of crap in General section next time
yah , its was tried .crappy version whit a lot of bugs.
A few days ago LG released an official update for LG Optimus One P500 which allowed the users to update to Gingerbread 2.3.3.
needless to say that i have done so myself and enjoying every moment of it.
Now, there has been another update made available by LG which updates the current Gingerbread to V20c from V20b which was previously
I have uploaded the new Stock Gingerbread 2.3.3 Rom V20c (.kdz format) for LG Optimus One P500 and you can download it from here and flash it onto your Optimus One if you would like to do so.
This ROM cannot be rooted as easily as the Froyo counterpart (i.e. with Apps like Gingerbreak, Z4Root, etc) but can be done quite easily by following this tutorial. Just make sure that you read and follow the instructions to the word.
Thanks a lot if i could be of any help.
enjoy Modding
Is this the worldwide stock rom? Or is it country specific.
I am asking because my phone is telling me that V20c is available, but my LG PCSuite and LGMobile updater are not working correctly.
EDIT: Nevermind, clicking your download link confirms that it's the Indian release.
this is country specific
Second question then: Because I can't update with the LG software, how can I download the available update and install it?

I tried downloading the .KDZ file from the location specified by you and have got the following file "LGP500AT 00 V20c IND XX SEP 21 2011 0 DZ.dz"
Do I need to rename the file or convert into any other format?
download the rom from this link this is kdz format so you can flash directly through KDZ updater package no need to convert

Hi there,
I just got my L9 yesterday. ITS AWESOME!
I would like to root it, but I don't know how to identify which version I have.
I'm not sure which county it came from, I ordered it from mobicity and they import from many places. The box has Asian symbols on it, I've used Google and "Quick Translator" on the box text and I think its Chinese. Also the box says production date: 01/2013. I have used cmahendra's ROM Linker - Option B and that said the latest firmware for my phone is V10B, but I have V10C running.
Under 'Software Information' it says:
Android Version: 4.0.4
Baseband Version: L6260_MODEM_SIC_01.1230.00
Kernel Version: 3.0.21
Build Number: IMM76L
Software Version: P76810c-466-92
If anyone could help me identify the phone, that would be great, then I can root and provide a CWM backup for this thread
Thanks

If you have V10C then you can root it with http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1990705
It's known to work with P768 V10A-C. For rooting you don't need to flash kdz.
For me my software information show P768f10d-THA-XX which come from Thailand. Don't know which country your stock rom on but you can flash any P768 kdz, it not brick your phone.
Re: Not sure which KDZ I need
Thanks for the reply, I only looked at the lelus root method as it says it works with all versions.
I'll use the method you listed and hopefully I'll be rooted and ready to put CWM on.
This phone is pretty new, the production date says 01/13 so it's only about a month old. Maybe it's korean and it came straight from LG?
EDIT: Root didnt work with that method

If not confident, then don't try. Staying with stock is not bad.

hi friends i recently purchased lg l9 p765 from india btw. waiting for update JB
my question is can i use other country rom on my mobile..is rooting required for this...
and whats the review on official JB firmware update what are the improvments, pros and cons...
THANKS....
As far as i know all p760 roms are flashable on p765, so yes u can flash other countries rom, but its better to have your own country's baseband to avoid network errors. Check these threads for reviews of JB

Hello community,
I have been looking for the stock firmwares v10h, germany and europe for my Optimus L9 P760 on the internet all day but I cannot find any file/link.
If you have a download link for one of those firmwares or both please respond!
Also, if you want to know anymore details just ask.
Thanks in advance!
