Guys,
Here is a strange one. I started having problems with my Rezound and I am past the 30 day amazon return window to get a replacement from them, so I called Verizon about getting them to send me a replacement, after some resistance on their part I got them to ship me a like new replacement. They told me over the phone it would be a new unit since the phone is so new they don't have returns yet. Well, I got the phone and it was obviously not new, there were test stickers on the plastic wrap it came in, but looked just like a new one so I figured no biggie. I powered it on, updated the software and the went to add my work email. This is where the strangeness began. I clicked on the email link on the home screen and said it was checking for existing email accounts, which it always does, but this time it came back with a stranger's yahoo account that is not mine. I did a factory reset and wipe from the hboot and the same thing happens, it always pulls up someone else's email account. Do they tie email accounts to the phone's IMEI? I don't know how else to explain this. I am planning on calling them today and requesting a brand new device, I don't know if they will send me one, but I am not comfortable with it being tied to someone else's email account. Makes me wonder if my email accounts are showing up on the two units I had to send back to amazon.
Any input is appreciated,
Y2J
Check /sdcard for the mail files, clear data on the mail app, and / or format the internal SD card. That should fix the problem.
I don't have an SD card inserted yet. The clear data button is greyed out on the mail app, and I tried to format the internal storage and it still asks me if I want to restore the foreign yahoo account when I go to add my accounts...
What about running the proper RUU.exe to completely wipe & reset the phone?

Didn't try that, they are sending me another replacement, but maybe I will try that in the mean time. Doesn't matter as long as they get this phone back in one piece.

What a bunch of BS that is. When my phone was only 2 weeks old, it started overheating badly & killing the battery in like 3 hours.
I called VZ & they told me the only option was to send me a refurb & this was before Christmas. I told them to blow me I'm not taking a refurb to replace a 2 week old phone, I want a new one or I will return this one for a refund.
They finally did give in and send me a new one but it was a struggle.

Fyi, /sdcard is actually the internal storage. Also,You ought to call and give them hell for sending someones personal data out on a refurb. That isn't OK.

I think that's the only way to fix that problem.
When I gave my Wife my Droid Charge, that is what I had to do to clear out my gmail account.

Or send a nice note to the email address that keeps popping up on your phone and let them know what is going on. Maybe you two can split the restitution haha.
Man I'd be one angry beaver if that was my email address on the phone. Didn't this just happen with a bunch of tablets not too long ago?

I guess this is a lesson for us all, before sending your phone in, install the latest RUU.

LOL, yes it was but it really annoyed me how I had to fight to get it.
My phone was like a week an a half old, & two different local VZ stores flat out refused to simply go in the back & grab me a new one to replace mine.

I can't find the mail files. I also tried to go into the settings to clear the cache and data as I had to do that for the gmail app but I don't have that option. Tried to add a different email can't connect to server. It's the yahoo mail accounts giving me trouble.
But actually, after reading this thread I think I'll RUU to get rid of it all since I'm switching off AT&T for internet and going with gmail from now on.
Guys,
Finally found a different source to download the RUU, FileFactory is a joke...Anyways, I flashed the RUU 2.01 and guess what? On the main setup wizard what pops up again? The same Yahoo account that was popping up before! My guess is that Verizon is somehow tying IMEI numbers to email accounts or something to that effect...I'm not gonna lose sleep playing around with this one much since I will have another one tomorrow. If it happens again, I will demand a brand new phone for my troubles.

Interesting. When I was poking around in root explorer I found files that I would have thought would have gotten wiped when I first unlocked or later relocked and unlocked phone. I don't think it wipes like it claims.
Which sucks cuz I wanted to run the RUU to start fresh and not have leftover folders and files from apps I've decided I don't want on my phone any more.
So you ran the RUU and it still left files behind??

All I can say is that it still asked me if I wanted to restore someone's strange yahoo email account when I went through the setup wizard and then any time I went back to add a new email account. My suspicion is that somehow the yahoo email address is linked to the IMEI on the phone, or running the RUU, wiping the phone isn't erasing everything. But it never asks me about my email accounts that I added, so that is why I think it is probably the email address linked to the IMEI somehow.

Hi,
I ordered a Nexus 10 from the PlayStore yesterday and already got it today! I was really happy about that until i turned the Nexus on for the first time, because what i saw was this:
https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B5FonMNRR04ZYXFnOFFTTnpkNVk
(an overlay with hardware-debuginfo on the homescreen)
the rom didn´t go through the usual firsttimeboot welcome/login-screen and even configuring a googleaccount manually didn´t work. also there is no ota-update option and there are no google-apps installed (no gmail, store, chrome...)
Looks like i got my Nexus with a Debug-Rom installed:
https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B5FonMNRR04ZZWQ5YUgxX1JqNUk
(build-number: full_manta-userdebug 4.2)
I called the google tech-support, but all they offered me was to send in the device and wait for a new one. So now i´m waiting for the replacement device to arrive
Greetings
Tim

Yikes, Congrats on being one of the first to have it, but sucks that you can't really make use of it!
It sucks but how is the build quality, how do the materials feel and what du you think about the screen?
Did you try to find a way to get into the bootloader to factory reset?

Aw, you should of possibly tried dumping the ROM and having some developer take a look at it, but it does suck you didn't get to enjoy your device. Hopefully your replacement works out though
Bad to hear about your device. Good to hear that Google is shipping these the day they are ordered (or so it seems).
Where are you approximately located and where did the tablet ship from?
Also what time zone are you and what time did you order it local time?

On the debug screen, can you tell us what the black level is like and if there is any backlight bleed?
I wouldve tried flashing the factory image to that thing You still can try...

It wouldn't invalidate anything. All he needs to do is unlock bootloader, flash factory image which can be downloaded from the official Google servers then relock bootloader. Could have a fully working tablet in less than 15 mins.
Has anyone redeemed the Dropbox offer for 25 GB free storage for two years? I haven't been able to, and I'm assuming I may need to flash the stock ROM to get the offer? Any experience with this? I never opened Dropbox until after installing the custom ROM.
Yeah, I did it. I am Stock but unlocked and rooted. Just sign up to Dropbox from your phone using the Dropbox app to get started... I know I had to complete like 3 out of 5 actions to claim the offer. It was something like: Recommend to 5 friends, Install on your Computer and stuff like that.
This link is for the HOX but its the same deal. If your running a custom ROM try it anyway it may recognise your HTC Device. Worth a shot.

With only two gigs of internal storage and nearly a gig of that being taken up by t-mobile bloatware this is literally the biggest paperweight of a smart phone I have ever owned. Ive installed my bank app and a couple other productivity apps but I can't even load a game to this thing. And Google has released a fix to ICS that addresses the issue. Samsung implemented it on the S3. This is the first and last LG product I will ever own. What a P.O.S.

The biggest edge Android has over the biphone is it's expandable memory card slot. Any limitation on the functionality of that slot is a HUGE error in judgement. I have a 32 gig card in my phone that is virtually useless in my phone unless I root it and kill the warranty. This is a MASSIVE blunder on the part of LG. This phone also has no hands free dialing capability which makes it illegal to use in cars in virtually every state in the U.S. I think this is why T-Mobile stopped offering this device outside of it's prepaid plans. Probably to kill off the remainder of what they had in stock. I don't even see any other LG products in it's lineup. Looks like their decision to offer their flagship device the Optimus G exclusively to AT&T and the bomb of this over priced paperweight may end up killing their product lineup. The S4 will be coming out soon and the S3 will drop to the price the S2 is currently sitting at and I'll be replacing this P.O.S.

I used Link2SD, but that requires root, and judging by the fact you just said you got an OTA update, I'll assume you have the t-Mobile L9, and that probably means 10G was your update, so if you are not rooted now, sorry bro, but you're gonna have to wait for the devs to figure out root on 10G for the Tmo L9.
Of course, if you have any other model L9, such as P760 or 765, disregard everything I have just said. IDK if there is root for the latest 760/765/768.

Can you share with me how do you use link2sd. I installed it via google play, create second partition in my sd with fat32, then launched link2sd, choose fat32. It give me error, mount script cannot be created. Any ideas?
EDIT: I got it working. My mistake was not set second partition type to primary. But now I'm succesfully linking app, my internal usage still not decreasing. Hmm...
You really need the directory bind app found here in the forum . You do need to be rooted but you can then link your internal memory to the SD even if your phone normally doesn't allow you to. Search 'directory bind' to find it

Link2SD work fine. But Directory Bind don't work with some app (ex. Sygic)
We just received the newly released US version Mate 10 Pro. I got it for my wife to replace her Axon 7. If it were my phone, I'd root it and use TiBU (assuming there's even a safe method for the US version), but it's her phone and she prefers it not be rooted. Through Google Backup, we got most of her stuff moved over, but all her apps don't have the application data that would also be moved using TiBU, so I'm wondering why the hell Google Backup even bothers.
I also tried the Huawei app "Phone Clone", but it fails after a few seconds, no matter what I do.
Is there a manually way to copy over application data without root? I haven't tried, because I don't want to complicate the situation by randomly copying crap over to the new phone.
So far, I've tried the following:
- Holo Backup (never starts a backup, and only says it'll work with the same device anyway)
- Manually copying /android/data/* over to new phone (starts transferring over windows, but hangs at certain files)
I'm beginning to think I am going to have to root this phone. I really cannot understand why google backup can't backup the application data. Could it be an option I'm missing?
Try Helium. I've not used it as I am rooted and use TiBu
But I've read that it does work.

I finally gave up. All the good programs recommended by various sites (ie: super backup) said that without root, I wouldn't get the app data anyway. Some of the apps had export/import functions, so I used those where I could. The rest she'll just have to setup as best as she can.

Does the built-in backup app not work? If it exists in the Play store, it might be worth a shot. I used the adb backup command to migrate some stuff from my old phone, but some apps wouldn't backup even after using the Xposed module to force enable backup of apps that do not have the FLAG_ALLOW_BACKUP flag. I got about half of my apps to restore with their data correctly, but that was about as good as I got it.

Not sure about HiSuite, but when I setup her phone, around the step that google will restore a cloud backup, "Phone Clone" also came up. It had me also install it on the other phone, then has you scan a bar code. After that, one of the phones will create a hotspot for the other phone to connect to. It looks like they find each other and a transfer starts, but they both failed within a minute or two.

I tried several other backup applications that, at their core, used a series of adb commands. All failed. If you're talking about using an xposed module, does that not require root? If I were going to root, I could just use Titanium Backup, which works for me every time.

Yeah... the bar code method failed every time.
Oh well, she's irritated about losing app data (and app state... having to log back in to everything), but she's so happy with the mate 10 camera, she couldn't care less.

Just saw this, sorry.
We thought it was the 18th as well. We pre-ordered it and NewEgg very clearly said "pre-order" with a 2/18 release date, but it shipped a few days later.
From what I can tell, it's only available through Best Buy, NewEgg, and B&H for now. Even though all three offered a $150 gift card, I picked NewEgg because they don't charge tax, and I needed a new SSD for my wife's PC.

Not a bad idea. I chose Best buy cause I work there (no discount) but I can get free gas with the gift card. Buy mobil gas cards. :3

I guess I should've considered Best Buy, as NewEgg reports to Colorado all online purchases through them now... grubby-ass politicians want it all.

I tried several other backup applications that, at their core, used a series of adb commands. All failed. If you're talking about using an xposed module, does that not require root? If I were going to root, I could just use Titanium Backup, which works for me every time.

My source device is rooted, but my Mate 10 isn't.

Same with hers (Axon 7). I could take TiBU backups all day long... but not restore them.
Looks like Magisk will now work with the Kirin 970. Still no TWRP, though. If it were my phone, I'd be all over it. I just want her **** to work, though.

Awesome - I ordered from Best Buy - picking up on Sunday. I noticed that Newegg now shows as "in stock", nothing about pre-order, i just don't have a use for the Gift Card. And the 6% back in rewards negated the tax difference.
