but as there is no emotions in default message app i want to add it.(NOT to replace. i know how to replace).
but i dont know xml code. so please help me. If i add png to drawable file then what i need to add in xml file?

When I modify the CMParts.apk's ../res/values-zh-rCN/strings.xml,
It lead to a bug, a CM setting option will Force Close;
CyanogenMod settings->Interface->Notification power widget->Widget buttons->Brightness modes,

These are my steps to modify the CMParts.apk:
1. install JRE;
2. download the apktool1.4.3 from code.google.com;
3. use "apktool d CMParts.apk" to decompile CMParts.apk;
4. modify ../res/values-zh-rCN/strings.xml, edit the string"警告：前面有怪兽！" to "警告！", in line 356;
5. use "apktool b CMParts CMParts1.apk" to compile modified files;
6. use CMParts1.apk's resources.arsc to replace CMParts.apk's resources.arsc;
7. copy CMParts.apk to /system/app, and grant it all permissions.
Any other CM settings work well;
the string"警告：前面有怪兽！" is be change to "警告！" succeed.
My OS is Win7(32bit), Used tools is apktool 1.4.3;

I've modded a few apks and im pretty sure you have to delete the new resources.arsc (the one from the project folder) before recompiling or it won't work, that could be why you get fc.
Also did you copy your modified XML to the new project folder too?

but, when compile the modified xml,
the modified xml is not exist in CMParts1.apk,
and i replace the resources.asrc,
the string which i wanna modified is changed,
to puzzle me, the xml which lead to fc, is not the strings.xml,
In my opinion, it should be in /res/values/X.xml.

the cmparts.apk cant be decomplied by apktool or other tools,
if modify, should be modify the Source Code from CyanogenMod,
that's all.

to edit a ramdisk.tar you have not to decompile the file,..just using archiever/winrar or winzip,...but to make an initlogo.rle,...4 d first,..u must make a png or jpg file with match resolution for your divice exmpl: 320x480 (mdpi) etc. than convert the file to initlogo.raw (using adobe photoshop (GIMP not recomended), last step is convert initlogo.raw to initlogo.rle using to565 tool in terminal/console,... sorry if my english is not well

The rom 4.1.2 I could using winrar for simple to change png to another png
Now I'm on 4.4.2 (DittoNote 5.2).
I want to change the png (tw_quick_panel_quick_setting_button_bg_normal.9 ???)
I think it is png a background toogles
I change my png i using winrar but nothing changes.
It is still the old png and no new png.
For what is this happening?
png's ending with 9 are not ordinary png's, they are 9-patch png's and in order to edit them you must DECOMPILE the APK, edit and then RECOMPILE. Anyway, simple adding with winRAR is nota good idea if you don't do ZIPALIGN because it slows down the reading of images....
Ah, and why post a question in app section, isn't Q&A more logical choice?

with another theme rom Note 2 but nothing has changed.
As I said - pngs with 9 at the end CAN'T be edited without recompiling. Use APKTOOL to decompile APK, then edit, then RECOMPILE. Then from recmpiled APK, copy PNGs (or whole res\drawable folder) to original APK.
If it doesn't change (and it should even when you don't do recompile - it should show BAD image) then you are not editing correct image.

It will be very difficult for me because there is a lot of files QMG
There is no custom QMG files (icons, button ....) in other roms or themes
to replace them in my rom DN4 v2
