[Q] Help wanted

How to change icon for *.exe and link? Can I use "ResourceHacker" to change icon? Please tell me in detail. Thank you in advance!
vagrantman, if you are asking about some standalone executable, containing icon - than yes - you can change built-in icon by means of resource editor. Not sure how RezHacker works (never used it - I use restorator) but it's possible. Just extract ico, edit it in any image editor and paste back to the place. Or paste any wanted ready image in correspondent format.
If you are talking about changing icon in StartMenu of 6.5-6.5.x - resource icons are normally not used for standard applications. All icons in rom are png files (usually names as Start_Icon_Bla-Bla-Bla.png)....
They are fixed in
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Shell\StartInfo\Start]
Find the exact name of the icon you want to change in the registry, make your custom png with the same name and just replace original one
More info 'bout the matter: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1115201
Thanks a lot! I will try as you teach me. First of all, I will try to find "resource editor".
thank you once more!!!

[Q] How to find list of available LOCALES (LANGUAGES) from ROM image (file system)

How to find list of SYSTEM LOCALES (language list that we see in settings) from ROM file system image/file tree
(assuming that /system can be mounted as folder)?
Which files/folders have this information?

+1
1- extract the Framework-res.apk
2- decompile the " framework-res.apk "
3- goto decompiled folder and check this folders.
for example:
framework-res.apk/res
/values-en-rAU
/values-de
/values-it
/values-pl
/values-nl
/Values-GB
/Values-Fa
/Values-Ar
, for example when you add " Values-Fa " to framework-res.apk, the Farsi language will add to locale settings.
if you add "values-it" , the Italian language will add to system and so on.
all languages are defined on android, you need just to create right folders.
this is for system language.
-------------------
for every application you need to create the folder same as framework-res.apk folders, and translate "Strings.xml" file.
every application have a different parameters, and you must know for keyboards some information will defines on lib files.
thanks, now i got it.
but what does it mean if this 3 system files have different sets of languages :
framework-res.apk
twframework-res.apk
Settings.apk
first file will be most accurate source ?

You use an APK decompiler.

From where are the Languages loaded into Settings.apk??

Hi Guys,
does somebody knows from where are the languages loading to the settings menu?
I know normally language strings are stored inside the apk, but I would know where can I edit the languages list which is selectable from any user.
I have attached a picture too
Thank you:

Inside the apk file, look in res folder, values then strings.XML
res/values/strings.xml
I believe, it should be inside res folder though.
