1. Copying the cwm folder to your sd is fine. Just make sure that when/if you want to restore it, you put it back into the same directory that its supposed to be in. (/clockwordmod/backups/). Also dont rename the folder name of the backup.
2. If your backup didnt complete successfully, cwm wouldve given you an alert saying so.

thx man

Also if your phone's system memory is around 250 mb then the backup size is fine. It is more because it also backups data partition with all your apps.
For more questions you can follow link to help thread from my signature, its a sticky thread in this very section.

[Q] Nandroid Backup to sdcard2?

Is it possible to do a Nandroid Backup to my sdcard2 on my GTab. If YES, how? I see no way to change backup folder location.
I am currently rooted w/VEGAn 5.1.1 and CWM Recovery 2.5.1.1.bekit 0.8
Thanks in advance. BTW, I did search this and found nothing close atm.

If you don't want to simply move the backup files to sdcard2--and since you have the 1.1 bootloader--use the version of ClockworkMod (v2.5.1.3) from bekit.net (the latest post there).
This is the version that I've been using since April '11, and it does what you want--but, if and only if it detects a micro SD card in the slot. It will fall back to creating the backup on the internal SD card if there is no external SD card present.
The last CWM version for Froyo, v2.5.1.8, might also behave this way, but, I haven't verified this.
Ah Ha, Thanks so much for your responce. I will give it a try.

[Q] sd recovery????

When I flash a rom all my programs on my sd are still there but in the new rom you cant see them, only maybe with a file explorer.
My question is : is there an app that can restore those programs on sd card so you can select them in normal menu?
Titanium Backup
oke thx, need to learn to work with that app , had downloaded it before.
If i understand well you need to backup before flashing and then you can restore afterwards?

[Q] In need of help..

Hello!
So, I have a "little big" problem over here.. I rooted my SGS3, so I could install new roms.. Until here, its all ok..
But then, i downloaded Android Revolution HD 2.1.0 and a script, from the same developer, to wipe stuff before flash the rom..
I've placed 2 rom zip files , 1 at the internal storage, and another at the SD card, just to make sure everything would be good. I flashed the wipe script, as the developer told to, at his thread.. And here comes the problem: The script wiped ALL the internal storage and i dont have access to the SD card via recovery.. Now my celphone is stuck at CWM or Download Mode.. i've PMed some developers and got some help, but i'm not really sure on what to do.. please help me if you can.. i need my phone back thanks!
Re root your s3 via tar file
Pc odin
That way u will get your cwm back
And take out ur sd card and place the rom zip file again in ur external sd..
And flash
I don't understand, why you don't have access to your external SD Card, is the option to flash from ext SD hidden?
(install zip from sdcard -> choose zip from sdcard)

I actualy have the CWM.. but it only gives me access to the internal storage.. not the external.. and i have no way to push files into internal storage.. :/
Maybe pushing files using ADB ?
Connect phone with pc
Start adb
adb push romfile.zip /sdcard/romfile.zip
give it a try

Install zip from sdcard -> choose zip from sdcard -> nothing, only "Clockworkmod/", with a "backup/" inside.. but there is nothing inside the backup one.. D: and i'm sure the zip file is there.. i pushed it in there via PC, using the adaptor..
Oh, i also have a nandroid backup on my computer.. i made it with the SGS3 kit.. it has this files inside: " Boot(image), cache.ext4.zip, data.ext4.zip, nandroid.md5, recovery(image) and system.ext4
Are you sure, the script didn't format the extSD, too? Try to connect sdcard with adapter and copy rom file again

Did u flash ?
There is always the possibility of flashing back to stock via Odin, it takes some time but is always a save way, if everything seems to be wrong^^

[Q] Clockwork Mod

I had started playing around with the Syhah Kernel and set up two different Roms (Omega and Darky) works very well however i ran out of internal memory.
with some investigation Clockworkmod was sucking up almost 5Gb so i deleted all my backups to find it still sitting around the 5GB mark deleted Rom Manager and Clockwork fully and got my memory back
Then re-installed Rom Manager and Clockwork, it still sits around the 2GB with one backup so was thinking
I love CWM because if I stuffup I can just reflash the phone back to a backup I guess similar to System Restore on a Laptop?
Why so hungry on Memory and whats a better solution?
Have you looked into 4ext?

Yes just did
Not compatable with the Galaxy S3
I like Clockwork but it would be far better installed and running off the external SD card?
i'm in the same case as you, siyah kernel and 2 different roms installed. Keep getting low storage messages etc with clockworkmod occupying 5.04GB in my system!.. anyone else has any idea?
Bit of common sense is in need here.. You have two roms of course a nandroid backup will take a lot of memory depending on what you have installed. It could be up to 3gb. if you want to make a back up make it no one is stopping you.
After you've backed up connect your phone to your pc and go into your internal or external memory card, depending on where you've backed up to.. Then find the folder Clockwork folder and click to go inside then backup and inside that backup folder there should be a folder with the date. Back that up to your pc..
Once done you know it is on your pc and if you want to restore just put that folder back into clockwork/backup and just restore simples..
The other option is to backup to your external card..
However if you have the new V6 cwm installed you want to backup the whole clockwork folder..
Yes correct you can move that backup file and I have tried that where the memory is used is with clockwork mod

I don't understand how clockwork recovery uses any space after i backup my folder on my pc i delete the whole clockwork folder. And it never comes back to waste any space. Unless i back up again..

[Q] restore my backup (Not what you think)

So i was trying to install this ROM, but it didn't work. And i accidentally wiped out my whole system and the only thing my s3 GT-i9300 can do are CWM and download mode. It got the backup on my Mac but how am I suppose to upload my backup to my phone? My Android File Transfer won't work so what should i do now??? (I am starting to get worried) It just stucked in the samsung screen
Sorry my English is not really good not so forgive me.
Upload the backup on an SD card with another device (card reader/other phone etc) and then place the card on your phone and install ZIP package from external SD. Hope this helped.
*edit* also why would you install a GT-I9505 rom on a s3 ?!??!?!

I have no clue. Probably a bad backup file. I guess you can try a couple more times (wipe cache etc every time) if it fails just install a new rom from xda dev forums (this time made for your s3!) to get your phone running.
