[Q]Cannot call or sms on sim unlock (tmobile) - AT&T LG Optimus G

I bought the phone from craigslist knowing that it was bad emei, I sim unlock it with a code. Now the phone pickup signal bar, but cannot make call or sms. I try changing the apn to epc.tmobile.com, and even use the network operators and use Tmobile GSM and nothing.

Look up a different apn

Although the 3 handsets are branded ROMs, I don't think they are locked onto the 3 network.
Even if it is locked to three if you got it on a contract after 30 days you can request for an unlock which I did and now my phone is unlocked to all networks

That's what I was thinking, do I just need to put in a tmobile APN?

If you look around on here I believe someone posted the Tmob APN settings you need to use. Can't remember where exactly. It should be stickied.
Here ya go. Post #7 One of those apns should work for you.

International use?

I'm planning on going to Singapore and vietnam . can I just pop in their sim card there to use, or do I need to unlock the phone somehow? Are their LTE compatible with ours, or will I be on 3g?
Thanks in advance.

There are a few similar questions and answers here if you search for them. Sounds like it will work. But I have no experience to speak from.

I can confirm that it works. I'm currently in Russia and using SIM from on of the local carriers it works perfectly, but you have to add APN manually in order for mobile internet to work.
Thanks. Any instructions on how to set the sim? Does lte work there or is it 3g.

[Q] Help!

I've been driving myself crazy trying to figure out what carrier will work my Note 3. I bought it for brand new for $300 form someone on cl. I've researched a lot but since I'm not on sprint i cant get it internationally unlocked to use it with gsm networks. So can I flash to use cricket or metro pcs without a sim card? And How would anybody do it themselves?

But I cant do this without first having an account with either of them right?
Cause as of right now, I dont have any carrier, would I have to open up an number?
Correct, you would need to set up service...can't just piggy-back on a network with a deactivated device.
