[Q] Need to Change long press Power Function - Samsung Galaxy 551 - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I've got a Galaxy 551 (gt-i5510) but unfortunately the power button get sensitive and with a little touch goes in and reset my phone.
I was wondering if i could Change the long press power function to another key (My device has a Hardware qwerty keyboard so i don't have problem with it) I've tried to edit ".kl" files under "/system/usr/keylayout" and succeed to make the envelope key power but long press function still works and reset my device.
Is there a way to do it?
My Rom is New Experience 8.0 based on CyanogenMod 7.

[Q] Unable to turn off my device properly iMiTo AM801 - Android 2.3.1

Hi,
since I have rooted my device (iMiTo AM801 running Android Gingerbread 2.3.1) I'm not anymore able to power off it properly.
After pressing for some seconds the power button and after I confirm the message asking if I want to power off the device, it never actually turns off and I need to press the reset button.
The problem is that quite often the reset button restart the device!! so I'm stucked.
PS: after I start the procedure for normal turn off (pressing the power button for some seconds, and answering the confirmation message) in the background I see a a message appearing just in the bottom toolbar of Android, but I cannot see what is says as the power off message is a modal window.
Any help, thanks in advance.
I solved this issue by installing one of the apps available on the Android market enabling to reboot the system.

[Q] Home Key wrong Mapping problem

I have got my Note II rooted and flashed the Android Revolution HD Rom.
Everything was fine and it worked smoothly.
But after installation of many apps, a problem turned out yesterday:
The menu button function has been mapped to the home button, which means when I pressed the home button, it will detected as menu button instead.
After that, I use the KEY TEST in the CWM Recovery to test the key setting.
I found that the home button is wrongly detected as the menu key. (It returns the same Code 139 when I pressed the two buttons)
the result shown as attached
How can I fixed this problem by reset the hard key map setting?
Please Help
Thanks so much!

Just in case anyone's having trouble getting into Download Mode, in the case of GT-P5113, you can just press and hold the VOLUME UP button (the right side of the large volume button) while the Tablet is on or off (doesn't matter) and then press and hold the POWER button, and release both buttons when the "Galaxy Tab 2 10.1" screen disappears and you see another set of images (I don't recall now what it is exactly). Then press volume down to choose the Download Mode option.
In that guide they just say "RIGHT/LEFT" which is a bit misleading... at least I thought one had to press both buttons at the same time (volume up and volume down, which is possible). In other guides for Tab 1 10.1 they said that it was volume down, and release, then volume up in the following screen... so I tried that too, until I tried with the volume up, release, volume down. The guys at samsung should define a universal button combo to get into those modes.
If you press and hold VOLUME DOWN and then press and hold the POWER button, and in the next screen you press VOLUME UP you get into Recovery Mode. :good:

Weird. Every Galaxy Tab 3 I've played with, when you get to that screen, the reboot and factory reset options are at the top. Sometime you have to play with the Volume buttons to get the options to show up on some devices. Like the 2 volume keys together, or just kind of play around with various buttons. That's certainly the right mode, because Vol Down + Power would be the Download mode. My experience has been like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nft8HVUc5Y4 - but that was on the 210 / 211.
But if you can still boot into the OS, the factory reset option is in the Settings > Backup and Restore.
pls check this link.It worked for me

Galaxy Tab 10.1 GT-P7510 cannot activate Recovery or Download modes

Hi all.
I have a Galaxy Tab 10.1 (2011, WIFI, Model: GT-P7510) which I can only turn on, operate the basics, and turn off.
However, nothing at all happens if I hold the Power and Volume Down buttons (download) nor if I hold the Power button and Volume Up (recovery) buttons.
I think someone in the household where the tablet resided tried to update it and screwed it up. For this reason I didn't want to risk it before but now I myself would like to update it to the latest ROM.
But first things first, I need your help in getting back to Download and Recovery modes.
Thanks in advance
