After trying som different roms (all laggy and slow) I returning to rooted gb. It worked fine for a day then the screen suddenly started to go black, I can still navigate and press the screen. Sometimes it goes back on, but most of the time I need to lock the screen. Unlock it (still black) swipe to unlock it - and its back.
I can't press the back-button, as it goes instant black. I can connect it to the computer, as when I insert the usb-cable it goes back on (charging notification maybe?)
How can I get my screen back again?
I flashed munjenis Sony Xperia Go ICS 6.1.1.B.1.54 + custom kernel + CWM Touch 5.5.0.4 stable V14. But still the same problem.
Any suggestions?

Try to replicate the problem on a fresh stock firmware without any custom kernel or mods. If the problem doesn't show up, it could be a kernel related issue.
Correct me if I'm wrong.

Hello guys,
I have an Xperia active rooted with ICS (sony official) and it just died. I got a phone call and before I even answer it the phone crashed and was unresponsive. I removed the battery and from that point on it doesn't boot. I just get a vibration and then nothing. It needs to remove the batter again in order to shut down.
Some things that might help
1) No response or led light when plugged into PC or wall charger
2) Can get to Fastboot and Flashmode
3) I tried flashing again ICS and 2.3.4 but still nothing. The flash finishes OK but I the phone doesn't turn on.
4) When tried flashing with Wipe Data option enabled I always get the Abort Flashing error.
Any help will be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Yes it's unlocked. I tried your suggestion by installing this kernel http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1398910 and then the official ICS image but still the same thing. It vibrates when turned on and stays there .

Could it be battery related? You cannot enter clockworkmod, when you have flashed for example rage or x-kernel?

If it was batter then it shouldn't turn on at least when plugged into the charger? Also once I hit power button and vibrates then it stays there, it doesn't shutdown. If I press the button again it does nothing until I remove and put back the battery. I believe this is an indication that it's not battery. Also the first time when crashed when I was pressing the power button the bottom buttons (return home and menu) were turning on (not anymore though since it seems that doesn't boot at all)
I tried booting to clockworkmod but no luck . Just to make sure, how do I do it in Xperia Active? If I remember correctly I have to press the volume down button several times until it gets into to he recovery mode, right?
Yes, you are right. Try to relock your bootloader.

How can I relock the bootloader? What if the solution is to have an unlocked bootloader? Can I unlock it again since the phone is not responsive now?
Sorry for two many questions. I started really worrying about losing the phone now .
I just noticed that for rage kernel I have to wait for the blue light to turn on and then press volume down. I do this but still nothing. I started suspecting that might be a screen problem. Can someone give me the sequence to restart phone or turn off from the recovery mode? If this work and it means it's my screen I guess.
Maybe it has something to do with bootloader. I bet it can be relocked, you just have to search a tutorial. I would try it, you have nothing to lose now.

You can't turn off from cwm, just pull battery. Maybe screen is dead, so background screen. You could try logcat to see what happens.
So the blue light appear, but screen doesn't come up? So it's related to the screen I think.
If you flash sony stock rom for your device you should be able to relock bootloader, just search in the forum for solutions...

OK thank you guys. I will try to relock the bootloader and see how it goes. BTW when I tried to use SUS I got a message that a modified image (or something) was detected. Is this due to the unlocked bootloader? If I lock it the SUS will also work?

It didn't die while I was experimenting with flash. It was working properly for a long time and just died after a phone call. That's the guide I used to root it and install ICS in the first place. That's of no use now since at step 3 the phone doesn't boot anymore. Blank screen.

Will be there any vibration when restarting? I am looking for a way to see if the phone works and it's just the screen the problem.
2 pages and the most simple solution has not been posted.
Get into recovery mode (press voluke down with phone switched off, then connect the USB cable), and then flash a stock FTF filr using flashtool
Sent from my ST17i using xda app-developers app
Hello dumraden,
I tried your suggestion but still nothing . When press volume down and connect USB cable the led lights green and I suppose I get into flash mode. Is this correct? I am asking because you mentioned recovery mode and I am not sure if it's the same thing.
Also the screen seems to be completely black! Like it doesn't light up at all, not even a light flick.
I also tried loading the rage kernel for 2.3.4 Android and then installing the stock 2.3.4 FTF but I get the following error:
09/019/2012 06:19:19 - INFO - (X10flash.java:230) - Flashing loader
09/019/2012 06:19:19 - DEBUG - (BundleEntry.java:34) - Streaming from file : .\firmwares\prepared\loader.sin

Any ideas? If I untick Wipe data it flashes just fine.
I tried the new Flashtool and didn't gave me this error (with Wipe user data ticked) but still the phone is dead.
I noticed some new symptoms on my phone.
1) When is turned on it doesn't just freeze, it stays with a black screen doing nothing and after several minutes (not always the same time) it turns off again (I call this turn on-off cycle)
2) Today after several flashes I let it rest and after a few turn on-off cycles it actually worked. It worked for couple of minutes and I was even able to make a test call to it and worked but after few minutes it got back to the previous state.
3) I noticed that this turn on-off cycle consumes a lot of battery. After symptom (2) when the phone turned on I noticed that had about 25% battery. 5-6 turn on-off cycles after that the battery was completely drained (led flashes orange when I press the power button).
4) Now the phone can be charged from the wall charger
The phone now has rage kernel for 2.3.4 Android, the official 2.3.4 android of Sony. Also I tried to relock it using this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1563840 and unbrick it using this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1553601
I wasn't able to verify if the bootloader was indeed relocked. How can I do this with the phone off? flashtool says "Bootloader: ROOTED"
Hi,
i have a problem with my xperia neo.
I have locked bootloader, stock ICS rom, no root.
My phone don't boot up.
I tried to restore the phone with SEUS, but nothing changed (the phone can enter in flashboot (back button while connecting to pc)).
I Don't know what to do now. Is there any possibility to unlock the bootloader without powering on the phone?
Thanks

Hey!
'Maybe' something happened to your screen.
Try giving it for repair.
or you can try flashing the ".ftf" file for your mobile.
You can also give it a whack. it worked many times when my speaker stopped working..
please hit ' thanks' if i helped you!
I tried to flash ".ftf" stock ICS, but nothing changed.
I tried to flash stock kernel and ICS. Same result.
The strange thing is that the phone vibrates, when turned on. If I press the power button againe, after few seconds and keep it pushed, the phone vibrates again.
It seems that the phone try to power on, but after 2 or 3 seconds it shuts down again. I tried to change battery, same result.
Does xperia phone have a recovery?
I've read that i can unlock bootloader with Test pins. Then i can try to install a modified recovery (is it possible to install cwm without powering on the phone? only flashmode?). It works with every xperia neo?
I've realized I can enter in flashmode (with back button while connecting to PC) but not in Fastboot mode (menu button).
I'm SIM unlocked.
Yea..u can use testpoint to unlock bootloader...ur supposed to do it without battery..coz u need to ground it via negative pins..
But be very careful while doing so...read evrythin before u start...
Once unlocked..flash a kernel..then Rom..
If u dont wanna take the risk...goto the service centre...
Nd did flashtool show any error??
Did it! Thank you mate!
Unlocked bootloader with testpins, flashed cwm and new rom.
Thanks again.
hi all, a few days ago i started noticing a problem with my xperia mini pro, when i put it in stand by and the i press the home button or power button to wake it up, it will stay with black screen and backlight, after 2-3 minutes i can see the lockscreen, this when down to random reboots and then yesterday i can't even access recovery, i tried flashing 3 different kernels from nAa jb to kernelpanic ics, i can see the boot logo then i see blue led but can't see the cwm, if i press the home button the phone restart as if i pressed the first option of the recovery. yesterday i manage to get back to the recovery (i don't know how) and do a fresh install o the legaxy xperia mod, but today, same problem, black screen backlight, could it be an hardware problem? my phone is dying?
i flashed stock ics, with 2 different kernels, system started, than reboot with that "screen melting" thing. now i flashed from cwm an ics mod, phone crashed during aroma installer before installation even started....the internal memory? there's a way to check if it is damaged?

flex cable broken.
My phone is Live With Walkman (WT19i).
I was running CM 10.2 (JB 4.3).
The phone kept restarting and before restarting the screen used to puts off with an orange hue.
I thought something was wrong (software) and reflashed CM 10.2
Same problem. So flashed Stock Rom "WT19i_4.1.B.0.431_Generic.ftf".
Same problem. This time screen puts off before restart in black hue.
Interesting : Before when the phone was working ok, I used to flash "WT19i_4.1.B.0.431_Generic.ftf" and the battery would always show 100%.
Ok, now back to the problem.
But after few restarts... the phone wouldn't even start. But I it can go to FastBoot mode and FlashMode.
So now I flashed in the "WT19i_4.1.B.0.431_Generic.ftf", of course phone wouldn't start.
When I,
a) long press the power button the led flashes red 3 times.
b) connect the charger I see the SONY logo appearing and blacking (screen is lit) in loop. LED light is off.
c) press and the hold the power button and volume up, nothing happneds except continous 3 red flashed on LED.
d) long press the power button and insert the charger, the phone vibrates, and (b) happens.
e) remove the charger, phone goes black with 3 red flahses.
I) Is my phone soft/hard bricked? Or what is the problem?
II) How to make my phone working again?!
Thank you!
UPDATE 1 :
I flashed "WT19i_4.0.2.A.0.62_1254-1889", the GB stock rom and relocked bootloader. Same problem.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
UPDATE 2 :
Yes, it's a faulty battery. Phone works fine after replacing it!

Hmmm....fully charger you battery first or borrow your friends battery or buy a new battery....
My friend had the same problem. Because of overuse of battery, the battery died partially. as a result it wont charge and phone wouln't run. Just replace the battery. Your problem will get solved. You can ofcourse check it by inserting your friends battery(EP 500 model)
Hi all,
I got into some trouble with my XGO. I had it rooted with CWM installed and wanted to install Phantom Kernel 1.0.8 Performance. I rebooted to CWM, installed the Kernel, and it was all successful and told me to reboot phone. That's when I realized I have no way to move back to main CWM screen - there was no ++Go back++ option at the end of menu and touchscreen didn't work either. I could only move up, down and forward.
So I decided to hold some combinations of Power and Volume buttons - when I held Power+Vol Up, my phone turned off.
Here's the problem - now when I hold the Power button it only vibrates shortly as always and that's it. The screen remains black and led flashes but nothing else happens.
Call me a dumb if I messed up something. But what other option did I have on the CWM?
What do I do now? Is Sony Update Service my only option?
Closed
Ok, I restored stock ROM, pls delete thread.
Is your bootloader unlocked?
Best flash kernels with fastboot not CWM because it won't let you flash unless you can (bootloader unlocked)
