Did I brick my GO? - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

Hi all,
I got into some trouble with my XGO. I had it rooted with CWM installed and wanted to install Phantom Kernel 1.0.8 Performance. I rebooted to CWM, installed the Kernel, and it was all successful and told me to reboot phone. That's when I realized I have no way to move back to main CWM screen - there was no ++Go back++ option at the end of menu and touchscreen didn't work either. I could only move up, down and forward.
So I decided to hold some combinations of Power and Volume buttons - when I held Power+Vol Up, my phone turned off.
Here's the problem - now when I hold the Power button it only vibrates shortly as always and that's it. The screen remains black and led flashes but nothing else happens.
Call me a dumb if I messed up something. But what other option did I have on the CWM?
What do I do now? Is Sony Update Service my only option?

Ok, I restored stock ROM, pls delete thread.

Is your bootloader unlocked?
Best flash kernels with fastboot not CWM because it won't let you flash unless you can (bootloader unlocked)

[Q] Is it possible my vibrant just doesnt have manual recovery???

Im about to give up. I can get recovery thru adb, quick boot app, rom manager, etc. I still have yet to boot recovery manually. I want to be ready for cm6, which means I need a manual recovery method in case my vibrant freezes up or bootloops so I can restore backup. I've tried every vol-up vol-down combo I could find. Still, after 2 weeks, no manual recovery. I don't want to go back to the unrooted life, but without a manual recovery method, I dont want to chance freezing up. Is there any other method of getting to recovery if the phone freezes up after flashing a rom?
I don't see how that's even possible... Just to make sure you are:
1. Turning off the phone
2. Holding the two volume buttons down
3. Then pressing the power button along with the volume buttons until the "vibrant" logo comes up, goes away and comes back and then letting go of all buttons...
It's pretty easy to do it... But if you did that and you are still getting nothing I suggest you do a factory reset and try again...
If not, try and take it in to a T-Mobile store... This is a function all stock phones should have, and if you can't go into it, that's a defect.
I hold my phone horizontal when powered off.
Both thumbs on the volume rocker.
Press and hold power and volume buttons.
When the Vibrant logo comes up, release power, keep holding the volume rocker.
I've never had an issue. It does seem like a lot of new posts popping up with this issue though. I use Quick Boot now that I am rooted. I also use Clockwork Recovery too.
There's definately a problem with some phones. I had one that wouldn't boot to recovery or download using the buttons. I took it in and swapped it out, and when I tried the new phone in the store I got it first try. It's just not that tricky to do.
Well, after another whole day of research and attempts, I give up. Sending the phone back and tmobile is shipping me another. Only problem is I cant try it out for recovery first. Hope this one works out.

[Q] Having a hard time getting into Recovery Mode

I flashed my Vibrant using the gingerbread bootloader found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1117990 and this 2.3.4 rom with voodoo lagfix found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1228306.
The gingerbread bootloader has recovery and downloading key remapped, for downloading its VOLUP and POWER and for recovery its supposed to be VOLDOWN and POWER. Getting into downloading mode works fine but I can't get recovery to boot all the time, I got it to boot to the ClockworkMod Recovery with Voodoo Lagfix (red colored recovery a few times) but I think I used the combination of VOLDOWN and POWER and then pressed VOLUP and VOLDOWN only to get it to boot.
Recently however I have been unable to boot into recovery at all, VOLDOWN+POWER doesn't work (only causes a boot loop) and VOLUP+VOLDOWN+POWER then release power at Vibrant logo also doesn't work.
Can someone tell me an easy key combination to get into recovery? I really don't want to install ADB.
Is there not an option in the power menu to boot into recovery?
Have you tried an app to do it for you?
worst case, just flash something else...
You need to make sure your phone is completely off before trying to access recovery. The screen on the vibrant when it is almost off is also black, but that does not necessarily mean its off.
I somehow lost clockwork mod recovery, I think the rom I used uses the red cwm recover mode, whereas the ROM manager wants the green cwm recovery.

I actually think the Red recovery mode is prefered or is the latest version unless u had the E signature verification error. I am almost sure u can re flash another or update the recovery via SD root
Depends on what rom you have loaded it could be Blue or amber as well.
Make sure you have Rom manager downloaded (I assume you do) and enable it. Then, turn off and then pull the battery. Then re-insert the battery and go into recovery manually by holding the vol+ and - and power button. Here is a thing to remember, usually it is... let the screen blink 2 times and after the second blink release the buttons and it should go into recovery. But, depending on the rom it could be 3 times or 4. You may need to experiment on that. I have found if one suffers from getting into recovery ....once you have done it manually rom manager and all the others afterwards work perfectly. Software can be quirky....
hope you get it....

[Q] Re-installing CWM Recovery (or getting to it)

Guys,
I'm rooted, with MDK base, and THOUGHT I had a working version of CWM (maybe 6.0.2.3?)
I was in the process of getting ready to try out a new ROM; going through the usual motions, formatting system, data, cache, and for good measure, I finished with a Wipe Data/Factory Reset (which I believe just does the same things again).
The phone suddenly rebooted and froze at the samsung custom screen. When I try to get back to recovery, I can't (hold down up-vol and power; blue message appears and disappears quickly in upper left, and back to Samsung custom lock screen.
I'm stuck. In the past, I always got into recovery by rebooting with ROM Manager, so I haven't really had to use the power-on/ vol up method (thus it may never have worked).
I can get into download mode. So I'm thinking - assuming - that the first thing I should try is to Odin CWM. But I'm admittedly confused, because all of the posts that relate to installing CWM seem to be in the context of the rooting process, and assume you have the ability to place certain files in rooted directories (like loki), which I obviously can't b/c I can't boot.
1) Is re-flashing CWM the right approach ? If so, is there a .TAR file somewhere with just CWM? I can't find an Odin-flashable .tar. EDIT: I found one, but it's designated for i9505. Same thing?
2) If that's not the right approach (or I'm just an idiot and don't know how to get into a working recovery), please advise
Thanks!
Turn the phone off.
Hold volume up and press the power button until it vibrates.
When it vibrates let go of the power and stay holding volume up until you see the recovery splash.
I've found that sometimes continuing to hold the power button will cancel the call for recovery boot. Not sure why.
You can always Odin if that doesn't work.
And I don't know of an Odin package for vzw recovery.

O - M - G !? Unbelievable. Thanks a BILLION! You just saved me a ton of time.
EDIT: Cr*p. Not out of the woods yet. Now, when choosing 'Install from SD Card' I'm getting 'E: Can't mount /sdcard/'
I'll post this issue in a separate Q.

Jiayu G4 (God I hate to title it like this, but yes) stuck in bootloop

How the problem occurred
So a year or two ago I bought a Jiayu G4A/T/Whatever they're calling it and safely got it here. I've used the stock ROM for a bit but I wanted to get rid of the bloatware that was still on it, so I eventually ended up with a properly rooted phone with a ROM from Jiayu.es (Everything worked, have ClockworkMod as recovery, accessible via Mobileuncle Tools), which was essentially a stock Kitkat rom made to work for the phone. Now I got sick of the ROM and recently saw the new EMUI version on Huawei's P8 Lite, so I figured I'd look around for a tailored ROM running that, and ended up at "jiayu-emui-3-0-stable" from Needrom.
What I did
1. I downloaded a ROM from Needrom with identifier "jiayu-emui-3-0-stable" (I can't post external links)
2. Backed up my important files following a guide from androidcentral titled "[Guide] How to Backup and Restore Apps and Data when installing new ROMs" that I can't link, and did a full backup using CWM
3. Placed the ZIP on my internal SD card, went into recovery, wiped data/cache (not dalvik, since it wasn't described in the instructions, I think this might be a probable cause) and installed the new ROM from ZIP
4. Rebooted the phone and now it's stuck in the boot loop I mentioned.
What the problem is
Bootloops aren't that much of a problem usually, except this one is... I can't get into recovery mode. From there on it'd be cake, since I made the right preparations, but I can't get into it. While connected to my PC it keeps powering on, showing a splash screen from Jiayu.es briefly (which shouldn't be present anymore) and powering off after 10 seconds, only to come back to the splash screen.
What I've tried
I've unplugged it, removed the battery, waited to get a full power cycle and tried to hold my buttons in these combinations: [power button + volume up], [power button + volume down] - but neither work. It just keeps going with the boot loop. I can succesfully power it down, and when I plug it in from there it shows the low battery image. At the moment of seeing that I thought I could connect to it using ADB / Fastboot, but no luck there either. It keeps saying no devices found, and with fastboot it keeps on <waiting for device>.
My questions
What exactly can I do if there is no way for me to get into recovery mode? Are there any alternatives? How can I get my device to be recognized by ADB? Is that even possible? Why is this bootloop any different from others?
Update from the massive Q&A thread:

Is it booting up on its own too after being off? This happened to wifes phone and it turned out the power button was stuck. I took a pencil and hit the power button with the eraser a few times and it worked then. Her case mustve dislogded it. I will keep my fingers crossed for u. If not send me a private message and i will look for an answer tomorrow and get back with u

Thank you for the reply!
Yes, it does. I took the battery out and let it lay disassembled for a night, after which I cleaned it a little and re-inserted the battery. With the case back on, nothing happened, so the power button wasn't stuck for sure. When I powered it back on with the power button (no USB attached) it showed the emblem for ~8 seconds and powered off. It then buzzes to show it's powered on again and up comes the splash screen again. Could it be that the ROM was just a rebooting falsehood? Why would it disallow me getting into recovery mode? I really hope there is something that can still force the device into recovery mode / interact with it somehow while in this state.
Oh, I also tried to see if the volume down button was broken but all the contacts seem intact, plus, they worked an hour before I started switching roms.

Bootloop/old issue/NEw problem/help

Hello everyone! I have a wonderful issue that I need to address and need some help with.
I will start with the fact I made the mistake of flashing the Cm12.1 10/5 Nightly. For those of us who do not know, this rom does not boot. It optimizes apps, then the Cyanogenmod boot logo shows up, and it does this, forever.
Shouldn't be a problem if I boot into recovery, right? Power and Volume down button should do the trick. My Lg g3 for some reason has never, ever been able to boot into recovery from the hardware keys. So this is where I am stuck, I do not want to go back to stock and clear my phone. I want to enter recovery and flash backwards, but have no way to. Is there a way with Download mode that I can flash a CM rom onto m phone, without getting rid of TWRP, and without wiping my device, and retaining root?

Getting in factory-reset screen (power and volume down) was tricky for me too till I figured out that "do not wait for lg logo to show up, as soon as phone vibrates release vol down and power then immediately press them together again, keep it pressed till the factory reset/safe mode screen shows up". It worked from me everytime since then.
