OTA Update 1.17.401.3 - HTC One X+

A new update is out. Seems to bring System optimizations. Discuss your experiences :fingers-crossed:
EDIT: Forgot to mention that i'm using the international HOX+
--> Volume-bug while calling is fixed
--> Games still lag as they did before
-->Wifi/3G bug not fixed (if using wifi, sometimes the hox doesnt sync, so you get emails, whatsapp msgs etc. later)

I will upload it if i know the location where the ota update file/s is/are stored. If its a cache folder on the root i think i won't be able to find it since i don't have root.

It should be on root of your "SD", just connect phone to PC and copy zip from root.

Well the hox doesnt hv sd since its all internal space. If flashing custom roms, their zips are usually being put on the root of sd to be able to flash from cwm. I took a look anyway but couldnt find anything related to the update.

When I tap on install update my phone restarts and goes into cwm and then installation aborted cant mount internalsdcard... What should I do?

you need to choose the update file with "install .zip from sd card"
the path to it should be in the bottom, if i remember it well it is in downloads not in the root of the sdcard ( it is not named update.zip )
hope this clears stuff up

I did that and it says installed but when my phone turns on it says again that I have update. I dont know what to do.
EDIT: I have succesfully installed update and my phone is not rooted any more. Is it the same procedure to root as it was before update?

hmm, after it did the update CWM ask if i want to re-apply root and it stayed rooted.
I would think the procedure for rooting would be the same as this OTA was only a minor version change, hopefully leading up to the 4.2 update

Ok. Thank you!

Trying to flash the update ZIP from CWM didn't work either. Re-installing the stock RUU (after relocking the phone) seems to have worked on the other hand; the update took a while to install but is now churning along nicely. Of course, this means losing all of your data; I'm using "Ultimate Backup Tool" (see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1844032) to mitigate some of the losses. It's not perfect, but it does help.
Well I m from India and I received the same update,
then I relocked my boatloader and unlocked it again then i flashed the stock recovery and the update was installed successfully ....

You could make a nandroid backup, flash RUU, install OTA update, (unlock bootloader again?), flash CWM and restore /data.
Just extract the ROM.zip from the RUUs available maybe that'l work? Or is there an hboot update?

I must be getting the path wrong. It says checking system, data/preload/tunein.apk

Your computer wont be able to see system folder/files. You need a root browser from play store to do the trick for you. You need to create a preload folder un System/data using root browser. I believe you need to have root access in order to do these steps and for this you'll need a unlocked bootloader, custom recovery and super user flashed.

Hi, thanks again for your previous help!
I'm still battling away with this thing trying to get S-OFF so I can relock bootloader and get my finger print scanner working.
Firewater and rumrunner don't seem to work, they both say I need a different (unsecured) kernal. I've tried flashing one, and almost bricked my phone......
Not sure where to go from here?

Like I said earlier, I did S-Off when I was on 2.47 hboot and I didn't need any Insecure Kernel. I am not sure if 2.49 would require an insecure kernel to S-Off with fire water.
I will read that forum for you to find out if you would need an Insecure Kernel and will let you know. In the mean time you keep searching as well my friend.

Any suggestions would be awesome.

Did you try this to attain S-Off. See if it works for you.

Thanks for looking, that link doesn't seem to work...
I have a plan that I am going to try this morning. I will flash CM11 then try and run firewater. I'll let you know how I go.

I'm all good now. Once I flashed CM11 firewater worked! Then I restored a back up of stock sense 6 and relocked my bootloader using scottys method, now i have my working finger print reader back.
Thanks again for you help.
