3 questions regarding HTC One - T-Mobile HTC One (M7)

First question is... How can I get rid of the "Power saver off" in the notification bar? Super annoying, I haven't seen it in any of the options although I'm sure it's got to be there somewhere.
2nd question...and this is more of a general all across Android but maybe someone has an answer...why do I always have problems sending picture messages when I have good signal? I try canceling them and resending, restarting the phone, nothing. It just sits there trying to send. I've had this problem on every android phone I've had (ironically nothing but HTC since the G1). Sometimes it works fine, other times it doesn't work at all.
3rd question, I've had a custom rom on my HTC Sensation for a while w/ Android 4.2.2 Is the ability to have the power widgets in the notification bar only on 4.2? I know you can add it w/ apps but I liked it built in. Will that be my only option till we get 4.2 or am I missing that somewhere also?
Thanks for any help!

As far as I know, you can only get this with a custom ROM. I am using TrickDroid on my T-Mobile One and it's fantastic. It includes the power toggles.

Interesting. I'm running trickdroid and I was able to uncheck it. Didn't realize stock didn't allow it.

Sweet. I never knew about this. It doesn't work for the Power Saver notification, but I was finally able to get rid of that darn WiFi notification! Will disabling the notification have any effect on the operation of the feature? I know I always get warnings from apps about it being more "active" with the notification turned on.

Like the other guy said, the option to disable it is grayed out. Sucks.
I do have one more question, maybe for another thread, but when someone sends a pic message, I'm not getting the full resolution, it's much worse. And the issue is not the persons phone sending it but my phone receiving it. My friend and I were both sent a pic and his phone received it on full resolution and mine was much lower. The sender was from an AT&T iPhone and my buddy that got the pic is on a Verizon android phone and I'm on the TMobile one. Is this a tmobile thing maybe?

If you're rooted, you can use the JMZ Power Saver Disabler app to get rid of the notification.

Quick settings

Er I looked and searched n couldn't find info :-\ maybe I did I wrong. Delete thread if needed.
I'm new to sense 3.5, I see there's a quick settings in the drop down but, how do I customize it? The options on it are lame and its lame that I can't long press to take me to the settings...
Otherwise sense 3.5 = amazing on this phone with no lag!

As it stands right now, I do not believe you can modify it. Once there is a full root available and there are customer ROMs available, I am guessing you will be seeing some better options there. I came from a Thunderbolt running a customer ROM and the quicksettings allowed you toggle most of the options on the phone (i.e. Auto Rotate, Wifi, Mobile Network, Bluetooth, Airplane Mode, GPS, Flashlight, Sound Profiles, and more). I am missing those options now with the limited selection on the Stock ROM. Give it some time and there will be options before too long I am sure.
Word. I miss MIUI already. But this version of sense is pretty lol. I need it stripped zip aligned and deodex lol. Also an undervolted sense kernel

If you didn't know, you can click on the arrow where it says settings to get the entire settings panel.
I think it's ridiculous there's no way to just change them to what you want.

I feel the same why. Like how hard would that have been? Lol. And I knew u could click the arrow but then what's the point in the quick settings if it just takes you to the menu anyway lol? Menu + settings or notification bar + advanced settings. Same amount or steps. So theirs really no reason why they put it there... Now if it was customizable it would be very useful and nice.

So with root now available, is there any progress in this area? Just wanted to resuscitate this dead thread in hopes of prolonged life and a future...
Yes. There's a mod here:
4 in 1 Reboot Menu with Extended Power Menu Options
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1421265
And I saw a 4 in 1 listed in the Ineffible (or whatever it's called) ROM.
Edit: Also in CleanROM so probably in Scott's other ROM as well.
This works but you can not use it on a stock/odexed rom.
You can use an app like quick settings(free) or my personal favorite extended controls(paid). The later let's you make all kinds of personal settings widges, plus you can set it up to pop up on long press of the search button.

Have you seen this article on Pocketables?

Nice. thanks
Radio is now 1.12.11.1119 and 4G is working inside my office building...no more having to go outside it seems.....
Updates to the Gallery. Now when you open it up you can pick the source
Update to the music app. Same with gallery...you can pick the source.
Update to how it handles 4G and WiFi..basically promising to turn them off when it knows it won't need them as opposed to always scanning.
Update to message app. There are more settings for personalization such as changing bubble colors and background
Low res contact fix which is common for all 4.1 I think
Color scheme change from green to blue to match JB
Pin enabled lock screen change
You can open up the maps to see where your pictures were taken
Stock browser has new look and is JB updated
Power saver
Keyboard has been changed up as well. Now can turn off arrows. Can't turn off prediction (well idk how to)
And more stuff...so far what I pointed out is just what I found to be important to me. I just now got to install this >.< I unrooted and updated.
Edit:
The HTC music app widget in the notification area now has the option to go back as well as pause and go forward
Wallpapers no longer scroll (figuring out of this is on purpose or if there's something i need to mess with)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sKrJaB6OUvI&feature=youtube_gdata_player If anyone wants to see the update before us rooted people get it. Not my video just throwing that at there.

I was hoping that the ringtone and notification volumes would be separate, but they are not.
Oh well, same old work arounds...
the sound in poweramp mutes temporarily whenver I hit the power button.
Soundhound app button
The soundhound app that was built in now has an icon in the apps tray. Never did before and I had to search for it. I know there was a workaround, I just never got around to doing it.

[REQUESTED APP/MOD] AOSP messaging with “Quick Reply” notification option.

I'm not even sure if it's possible, but I'd like something like that. I know GoSMS has pop-up notifications, but they're too damn intrusive.
I just want to be able to pull down the notifications tray, tap “reply,” and have a window pop-up.
Thanks in advance for any assistance.

I would recommend slide messaging .
I would love if we could get this. This is one of the only requests I have that would make stuff better than we already have it. I have an aosp messaging app that someone posted a while back but it is kind of buggy sometimes and it lacks some features that newer ones have.

Meh. It didn't work for me. Plus, it's über buggy. Glowfly let's you use any messenger. It just affects the notification drawer. Plus, its popup windows are better, in my opinion.
I always have problems with these third party sms apps, the notifications are always messed up, lightflow doesn't work right, I get the same messages twice a lot, and the list can go on.
.......I just want an AOSP rom so I can be done with these stupid problems, sense is going to be the death of HTC.
For sure, dude. I need me some Paranoid Android lovin' up in heeyah. Tablet apps in 1080p? Yes, please.

Power save notification

For now, you can long press it the notification, get App Info, and force close. This will make the notification go away. It'll come back on a device reboot, but at least this might hold you over.
Custom Rom fixed that for me!

If you root your phone, install "Xposed Installer" and download the "MoDaCo Toolkit" module, you'll be able to turn on a feature which allows your to disable any system notification you want, just by viewing the app's info.
The benefit of this is that the power saving app will still function.
I still have sense. Trick droid Rom is mostly stock with nice added features like removing the 3 dots and mapping the menu to the HTC logo.

As one person stated, just install Xposed Toolkit... easy, quick and safe.

[Q] Email preview in notification pull down?

Does anyone know if the One has the option to see a preview of an email message in the notification pull down menu? I just bought this phone today and have not been able to find this setting? I thought it was a standard Jelly Bean option, but I could be mistaken.
Any thoughts?
Thanks,

I think you could just the 4.2.2 gmail apk and should work
Do you mean like this? I just sent myself a message. and that's how it looks in my notification bar. I do know that if it's a single line like WiFi TetherMod is, you drag it down using 2 fingers. So You'd drag WiFi Tether Mod down using 2 fingers and it would expand. (If the notification is capable)
EDIT: BTW, I'm using the stock Gmail app that comes out the market.

Does it look like this normally? If so, try dragging it with 2 fingers. I'm on Renovate. I don't think a ROM can add this feature. This feature is a JellyBean feature. I've had this feature on my Epic 4G Touch (GS2), as well.
The notification itself, if you drag it down with 2 fingers, it should expand. And you'd have more options and viewability. Like in my previous post.
I've also upload 2 more screenshots showing you a before and after of Google Music. It's a single bar, but if you drag it with 2 fingers it expands.
EDIT: Also it is not an option your turn on and off. By dragging, I mean the actual notification itself.

As you say, it might be in the next version. Getting this stuff early is a big reason folks root and use a custom Rom. I usually do, but just haven't felt the need with the One. It is meeting my needs right out of the box.

Any link for that? I'm not sure it would work over a stock rom, non rooted, but it is worth a try...
I'm interested. Do you have expandable notifications? I mean can you expand other notifications? I've always thought this was just a JellyBean feature and not something that could be taken out and added, or something of the sort.
I discovered that I won't get notifications unless auto sync is turned on. However, even with that on, I can't preview the notification.
I turned it back off because it also lights off the LED, which uses battery, and there is no way to turn that off separately.
I'd really rather save the battery than have constant notification of gmail messages.
The reason its not working for most of you is the battery saver notification. It is listed as a high priority/ongoing notification and essentially kills the auto expand. Expandable notifications have been in Android since 4.1 not 4.2

I'm still bone stock, no root, no mods, and I can expand my notifications (if they're expandable.) I have the notification for Power Saver, and this works whether it's toggled on or off.
You have to press and drag with TWO FINGERS to expand them. Not just one.

Sorry, you didn't say anything about "top notification" for "auto expand," what you said (or how it read) was that having the power saver notification in the notifications area was what was stopping folks from being able to expand notifications (with a two-finger swipe wasn't said, but seemed to be implied.) And I didn't think we were talking about "auto expand," but about being able to make them expand if they could...
I just did it on my stock ROM using the two finger method on the notification. I still have my Power saver notification showing also. I wish it would allow me to delete instead of archive.
