Hi all
I bought a new Galaxy SII and unfortunately discovered lately that it is GT-I9100G. I rooted the device successfully with no issues. My cousin told me about a good ROM (without knowing about compatibility issue) he sent it through his I9100 device's Wifi. when I booted my device from the discovery mode and followed all the steps to install the ROM I failed to have my device up. It keeps showing the dead screen (the yellow triangle) with no luck
I read a lot of posts related to this issue I found that it is possible to fix by removing the battery and putting it back, connecting the device to the USB cable and then booting it in Download mode but again it failed !!
Now my device is dead since more than a month ago and my PC is not discovering it even. Please help to get my device alive

You'd better read BEFORE flashing something... now you have to read A LOT for the finding a solution.
Are you sure your battery is charged enough?? Cause you said 'since a month'
Maybe it's bricked for ever...
My battery is full.

Ok, have you got KIES and ODIN on your PC? So your device can be recognized by odin. Then flash a stock rom from the forum ... Read How To flash with ODIN. (not the mobile version)
I have KIES and ODIN but when I connect my device to PC .. ODIN cannot recognize it.

Make sure KIES is not running at the back and that the Samsung USB driver is installed. Maybe delete KIES, install again but not updating KIES. Restart PC, fire up odin and put your phone to usb ... wait if you see the ID:COM turns yellow. If so, you can flash again.
Can you be more specific..your phone can enter in download mode?
Did you try on other computer to check ondin/kies connectivity?
Odia (all credits goes to him) wrote on another semi bricked phone this:
Uninstall the Samsung USB Driver from Control Panel
START/Control Panel/Programs and Features
Select "SAMSUNG USB Driver for Mobile Phones" and then uninstall
reboot your PC and then re-install the Samsung USB Driver from:-
C:\Program Files\Samsung\Kies\USB Driver
and run "SAMSUNG_USB_Driver_for_Mobile_Phones.exe"
Doing that will make sure there is no USB driver corruption.
(PS. is on a pc with widowsn7)
hope that it will help you to recover ur device.
Best regards
Ur options r:-
if phone can enter download mode then use odin to flash correct rom
If it doesnt work then pull out the battery connect phone to charger ...hold buttons for entering download mode and while holding the buttons put the battery in
If this doesnt work buy a usb jig and then while u have the battery pulled out put in the jig and then put in the battery and see if it enters download mode
If none of these things work then my friend ur phone is completely hard bricked
Ur only options r to go to samsung guys n get it repaired there...if they give u crap about losing ur warranty coz u flashed a custom rom then its better to go for jtag repair as that will be cheaper than the amount samsung guys r gonna ask for repair
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
Thank you very much fatjivi. You solved my problem. My device is alive now
I followed your second "if" .. I pulled out the battery . held the buttons for entering the download mode and while holding the buttons I put the battery back
Thanx also to ITRC & hhhans1 who tried their best in resolving my issue.
I really appreciate it guys
glad to have it back alive...SGS2 is such a great device,...almost cannot be bricked....from this samsung did a great job..

oke thanks, just ordered one on Ebay. Probably have to wait a couple of weeks...
Hello,
I am new to the S2 forum. I have purchased the phone on Dec 04. It came with firmware version 4.0.4.
The PDA was I9100XWLPW and CSC was I9100ODDLPC.
After a week, I flashed the leaked JB firmware XXLSJ and used PhilZ cwm6 kernel to obtain root.
I was not having any problems until today.
I was using the phone normally, it had about 60% battery. Suddenly it was not waking up ( The phone was not used for about 15min ). I tried removing the battery, all button combinations but was not booting normally or into recovery. I could get into the download mode by plugging the phone to the PC. Odin failed to flash the official FW and the JB leak. I followed the thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1457458 and found out it was a corrupted NAND r/w function.
I tried doing all the steps given in the thread. Now my phone does'nt go into the download mode and does'nt show charging when plugged to a power source.
Can I recover my phone?
Please someone help me or guide me to a previous post that solves this problem!!
Edit: Samsung service has replaced the mother board!!
Doing the pit partition has resulted in my phone getting bricked!!
So people new to the forum, never do it
Hi,
You said you couldn't access download mode, but can you access CWM recovery?
If you can then, you should wipe data/factory set, wipe cache and wipe Dalvik-cahe. after that you should re-flash your ROM.
If that doesn't work, maybe you should restore your CWM/Nandroid backup of your ROM before you flashed the JB leak XXLSJ, which in this case seems to be Stock ROM. (providing that you have backed it up in the first place)

HI,
today I wake up with the same problem.(Bug from the junary 1st???). I'm on Leak 4.1.2 too
Mi Galaxy sII don't charge the batery (loop from charge batery symbol) All the combination button don't wake up the phone.
The only thing seem working is the download mode. Don't try to connect to ODIN for the moment.
Any idea?

We already have plenty of topics about this why do you feel the need to create another? Your symptoms are no different to others and the answers are no different.
If you cant access download or recovery and cant power on then try a USB jig. If that doesnt work then you will need to take/send it for repair which will either be JTAG or complete mobo replacement.
Just because you create your own topic it doesnt mean answer is going to be any different.

3 100k resistors + 1k resistor in series connected between 4 and 5 pins of a male usb end when plugged will get you into download mode in case of soft bricks .

In some of the posts, I've read that a JIG may not work on ICS based roms!!
Is this true?? Should I try a JIG first before I take the phone to Samsung Service??
I was on XXLSJ before the phone went dead!!

I had the same problem.. I could get into the download mode by:
1. Phone completely OFF state
2. Connect the USB cable to the phone and PC ( The battery charging indication has to come, atleast once )
3. Fire up ODIN
4. Get the phone into download mode ( Vol-down+home+Power ) while the phone is connected
5. The phone is now recognized by ODIN.
I could flash a kernel (tried siyah and Philz) but the phone was not booting.
While trying to flash Stock and XXLSJ, ODIN was getting failed at factoryfs.fs
After a few trys, the phone just went dead!!
Hope you can flash a firmware successfully :good:

You are misinterpreting what you read. What you're referring to is resetting the binary counter, and no it doesn't work on ICS bootloader however it still works for putting device into download mode (unless its bricked).

"Soft-brick" has absolutely no meaning, Your device is either "bricked" or it isnt. Its a made up term by n00bs when they cant get system to boot normally. Your devcie is only bricked when it wont power on or go into useable recovery+download modes. If you can simply use a jig or go directly into flashing a rom then your device is not bricked.
The "bricked" term is used far too loosely nowadays.

Your phone died? you kiding ?
I'm using the leak version of Sammobile since 3 weeks... Why do you think the phone make a bad reaction now? why now?
Ok, you try to flash OFW and don't result. and then you flash again the XXLSJ ? and the phone colaspe?
What kind of roms do i flash? OFM or CFW ? ICS or JB ?
Well if a can connect with ODIN of course
A quick question!!
Is it possible that the phone can be revived (put into download mode) using a JIG if it is not starting at all for any key combinations and it is not showing charging animation when plugged into a computer or a power source??

Yes its possible which is the reason we already mentioned to try it
It all depends on the actual base issue though as to whether it will work. Its worth a try either way though, They only cost £1-2 or you can make them yourself if you have the spare parts. (Don't ask how, Use search).
I have tried the JIG, but no luck!!
I have given the phone to Samsung Service.
Hope they fix it!!
Will they use JTAG or it has to be done somewhere else in case Samsung people refuse to do it??

Wait... Did you pull out the battery and tried going into the recovery/download mode if not i think you'll need a usb jig to get in download mofr
Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S² with P.A.C Rom
i still dont undersend what jig do..
but i try to change for other full battery and the phone still dont turn on , i cant even to get to download mod/recovery :crying:
Little hope jig would help. Most probably will need to replace motherboard,or buy a new phone.
how i did the jig ?
Buy/borrow/make yourself.Search for guides of how to use it.
what ???
Read this forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2345831
give this a shot . works most of the time : remove the battery and keep it out overnight . the next morning , ( the battery is still out ) press volume down + home + power button and then ask someone to plug in the battery . This works most of the time and you would hopefully boot into download mode . Then flash stock from odin .. report if this is not working. All the best !
Bet you a grand that doesn't work.
tenx flasherruts i wiil try this..
but not have other whys to fix the phone ?
Replace motherboard (that's if you want it fixed guaranteed first time).

you can try "Samsung 300K Tool.exe" (search the web - it's easy to find) the software does quite the same thing of the usb jig (that is hardware -- with a resistance ...etc).
If it works the phone will go in download mode.
I'm not suggesting that it's what you need but... just try.

Here in India, A local shop owner told me that he could replace the motherboard for 3000RS (50$ approx) or Revive my hardbricked phone by repairing it for 1500RS (25$ Approx). It will be double cost if I go to official Samsung Care.

Did you try changing your battery? Try to find a similar Samsung Battery and boot into download mode then. The boot.img is the kernel, and if it didn't flash, the ROM/Stock ROM should still boot up, or at the maximum should give you a bootloop. I still feel it is some battery fallacy, since the processes which you followed don't have any such errors.
Regards.

hi, as i have seen your posts you have written that you do have tried jig, and no results. try to take out battery and connect the jig and put the battery, i believe this the last chance you might have through jig. Or just jtag it for 25$ it is not that expensive, let me know what happens with jig.
