I sincerely hope this is not in the wrong place, but i do not know where else to put it. I tried to update my x10 running wbcm6 to tw007.2, but apparently in my sleep-deprived haze, downloaded the wrong bb version. when i tried to restart after install, i lost xrecovery, and had no signal and had an unknown bb version. after many attempts to recover, finally resorted to rolling back all the way to stock 2.1 and starting over. was able to succesfully flash at&t 2.1 rom according to flashtool, but now i am stuck in a reboot loop after the boot animation. cannot get seus pc companion to recognize, and neither will flashtool. i am at the end of my wits, this my only phone, and it is currently unuseable...
anyone who has any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. let me know if i can provide any further information...

Sounds like what happend to me when flashing custom kernels to MIUI ROMs.
Something wrong with the chargemon with the problem I was having.
But for you. Dunno.
You've tried re-flashing firmware but cannot get flashtool to recognize your phone?
Try taking the battery out, then get flashtool set up, plug everything in and hold the back button, and then put the battery back in and continue to hold the back button.
Sometimes, it takes a bit for the 'puter to recognize the phone with flashtool because it's had the USB ID re-assigned. Mine (on windows 7) will re-install the USB driver when I'm having severe issues.

See what I mean?
It is funny to me when people just say "wrong section" but offer no useful advice. Seems just as easy to say nothing and just let us work it out. And who knows? Maybe someone who is dealing with an issue caused by android development (see current section) will think to look in the same place for a solution. It's a big circle!

MODS>>>>>PLEASE MOVE TO Q&A!!!!!!AHHHHHHHHH!
wow. solved before it got moved ? :L
also, i was gonna suggest reboot your darn x64 bit comp, and the take out your ****fy battery, and then plug your usb cable in the hole and hold the back button and reflash with flashtool, but when it says flashing, then insert battery while still holding the back button. its a common issue after one flash for x64. happened to me several times, when the x64 bit comp won't detect, so i had to reboot.
now, MOD PLEASE MOVE
Moved to proper forum.
that is interesting information to know. i will definitely keep that in mind when flashing in the future. appreciate that
A few days ago I accidentally deleted my messaging app(mms.apk), I looked everywhere for a solution to get it back, I couldn't find anything other than downloading a messaging app for the Android Marketplace, I just decided to restore my phone from the backup I made about ten days ago, I did. Then I decided I just wanted to reset & unroot my phone, I downloaded an unroot file, opened it up using Odin, then started to unroot my phone, a few minutes into the process it said, "Fail!", so I clicked reset and unplugged my phone & tried to boot it, it was stuck at the boot screen for about ten minutes, so then I rerooted it using a root file & Odin, it did it successfully. But now when I turn my phone on it says. "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again."
I can acess Odin mode as well, but that's all I can do, Kies can't connect to the phone.
Also, I have to plug unplug the USB a few times before the computer recognizes it.
I need help really bad, I've only had the phone for about two months. D:

I really need help, I'm currently using a Samsung Solstice or something, and it's just horrible.
Thanks.
EDIT: & I have to unplug and plug the USB back into the computer a bunch before it will recognize it(I have the drivers installed).

May be able to help you but need to know what exactly you flashed that caused Odin to fail. Also need to know what you used to root your phone. And Specifically what the contents of the tar files are for those two packages.

That will be a start at least.

Alright, but before I tell you that, I don't have USB Debugging on, and I have no way of turning it on through my phone, unless there's a way to turn it on without being able to get on my phone, could this be why the new firmwares, etc. won't install using Odin?

No.
USB Debugging is irrelevant when you are in download mode.

I'm not sure what I used to root it the very first time, I used ATTGalaxyS2Unroot_SGH-i777 http://gyazo.com/41cd5a9600ea4c21b223e1fff7513595 to unroot it(I THINK), I downloaded a few, then it messed up, froze at the startup screen, so I downloaded a root file, once again, I think it was this one, but could have been the other one I downloaded, http://gyazo.com/7412924c18a7bdf386ee2fee57c025d3, here's all the files I have, I didn't use them all, but I have them, http://gyazo.com/a9e126d653d4e29c5da04e505a8e37de.
Hopefully that can help you.
And also, I think I already mentioned it, but I have to unplug and plug back in my phone a bunch before it finally recognizes it, and when it does recognize it every time it installs the driver again as if it were a new device.
EDIT: Here's what it says 90% of the time when I plug it in.. http://gyazo.com/288b9e6a613e5348e91b15482ccbcebf
Tried out both these sets of instructions:
http://androidadvices.com/root-motorola-atrix-4g-45141-gingerbread-236-firmware/2/
http://www.androidauthority.com/atrix-4g-android-2-3-6-firmware-4-5-141-root-63533/
None of them since I can't even get past step one with the command lines. The command prompt won't recognize either saying "[name] is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program, or batch file.
When I rooted while I was using 2.3.4, I had no issues doing it manually this way. I'm at my wits end. Don't know if it's a problem on my end or just the result of Motorola intentionally trying to make it hard to root and unlock this phone(apparently rooting also voids the warranty with them).
http://www.android-advice.com/2012/root-the-motorola-atrix-4g-running-4-5-141/
Thanks. Those are the same instructions in the first link though. Anyways. I managed to get past the first step by simply going to the folder and holding down shift and right clicking to get the command prompt to open the file from that location. Don't know why it wouldn't work the other way. After that I entered
moto-fastboot.exe flash preinstall preinstall.img

Now it's just stuck saying < waiting for device > which could mean it's a problem with the drivers. I did install the usb drivers from here:
http://www.motorola.com/Support/US-...tware_and_Drivers/USB-and-PC-Charging-Drivers
Don't know if there's a step I'm missing from that or if I have to do something manually form there since I went into the device manager and my computer couldn't detect anything for them so I assume they're up to date. Let me know if you if you need me to be more specific about something.

Did you try just fastboot instead of moto-fastboot? I had to use fastboot the other day and that held me up. But if its waiting for devices then it possibly is a driver issue. Im on the xda app so going to the link you provided wont work for me. Trying uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers.
Yeah I just did fastboot. Didn't even know if there was a moto-fastboot. How do I uninstall the drivers? I went through my applications but couldn't find them on my computer.

Go to device management of the computer and under usb should be your phone (when plugged in). If you aren't seeing it, then the drivers didn't install correctly. I can't remember where I got my drivers from to point you in the direction for that.
Alright thanks so far. It says the drivers aren't installed when I look them up in the manager. Don't know what I'm doing wrong, but if you could post the link when you get the chance then that would be helpful.
Just to clarify the one I'm referring to is "Motorola ADB Interface". "MB860" has everything current on it.

I went back to an old bookmark I had when I rooted with 2.3.4 and found drivers. For some reason the motohelper link in my second post in this topic was not helpful. Here's a link for future reference in case anyone needs it:

I got my phone rooted again and now that I know that works I'll probably go ahead and try unlocking my bootloader to install cm7
If there is someone out there willing to give me a few minutes of help please pm me..... I honest to god have been trying to unlock this phone for, this is the third day. I have uninstalled drivers, reinstalled drivers, used the zadig program to push usb drivers....
I just ODIN'ed with the .pit file and the VRLJB with out the bootloader file..... I'm stock.... I let windows install the drivers/I've also tried letting the phone install, and applying downloaded usb drivers........ but currently uninstalled all and did the windows ones i believe... I am trying casual nightlies, but had been doing the casual 515 off of the VRLJB link in adams guide.... the nightlies just say "loading, please wait" at the top.... the old ones would either get stuck on the "protocol" part.. or stuck where it reboots and says not to touch anything until the computer recognizes adb again.....
Someone help please.. I will donate you a beer... At this point... I'll petition Megan Fox to be your wife..... I'm past the point of logical thinking here!!!! I would appreciate some help though..

Ridin' a Note 2 blast
heres wha i have done and my problem, sure hope theres some help an i havent broken it. Since FuHu has removed the updates i decided to give it a whir myself. I read and read on the nabi and differant ways to update, but none worked. Somehow i deleted the OS, but i figured no problem and found the xda site for the nabi stuff. I was able to install twrp 2.2.2, it wouldnt read the micros sd card, i up graded the twro to 2.8 version, everythig semed to work except the deggone "slide button" id recon youd call it. Back to the drawing board. I down loaded twrp 2.6 for the nabi and installed. Have no idea what went wrong, but now, i fire up the nabi, go into recovery kernal ( without being plugged into the pc ) it just sits there, when i plug the usb cable into nabi then the laptop, it automaticall connects to the driver, and goes to a screen that has,,
bootloader
continue
reboot-bootloader
reboot
power off
now if i press the vol - again it goes to a screen....
boot normally
fastboot protocol
recovery kernal
forced recovery
it just keep fliping back and forth betwen thos 2 screens,it shows connected on my laptop, but try to load anything and it says no device connected..
Truley baffeled,, any help is appreciated
Thank you
