Currently am bootloader unlocked .....
I just picked up a second HTC one and wanted to ask before I attempt again to flash twrp from goo manager app which is supoosed #1 preferred method on twrp website ,stating to open goomanager /menu and install open recovery script .
After I donwlaoded it I tried it once and manually rebooted although recovery booted into a dim blueish screen .
Had to go into hboot and factory reset
I thought that if goo manager has an available open recovery it should flash it from the device itself .
If this is known to be not working can anyone confirm and I will just use the fastboot adb method

Check the TWRP thread in the 'original android development' forum. Seems the method is different with this phone/s-on.

I unlocked the bootloader and flashed a cwm recovery. Downloaded goo.im and downloaded twrp through the app. I'm used to some sort of confirmation that a change has been made, but when I rebooted into recovery sure enough, I had twrp installed.

Flashing from goo manager only works if you flash a non-protected kernel first.
This one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2255900
worked perfectly for me.
Otherwise, you have to use this method:

I am currently running TWRP 2.3.1.0 and would like to update it to the most current version. Is there a specific process that I have to go through in order to update it correctly, or can I just download if from Goomanager and install it without any additional steps?
Thanks
Goomanager should work fine assuming you're rooted

This is what I did.
I do mine via fastboot, it's pretty easy just run fastboot flash recovery recovery.img and just make sure the TWRP is in your fastboot folder and you replace recovery.img with the latest file name you downloaded. GooManger should be much easier if you don't wanna use fastboot.

Is there a way to install the recovery with goo manger app. When I try to install the recovery scrip it says that there is not a recovery found for the device. I do not have access to a computer at the moment and was going to try to install the recovery on the app.

I do not believe so. The only thing I use Goo for is updating TWRP,,but as for installing it brand new..I am going with no. I had to manually install it after I unlocked my phone

You can take the recovery image that goo download and flash it through terminal emulator on your phone. Of course you have to know the commands.

I put TWRP recovery on my new HTC One. I cannot get TWRP to back or install or do anything. My phone will boot into TWRP, but it wont do anything. Could I replace TWRP on my phone with Clock Work Mod. I used it on my old HTC One and I like it.
Will I brick my phone if I try to over write TWRP with Clock Work Mod? Do I have to relock my phone and then unlock it and then install another custom recovery? Or can I put Clock Work Mod on it now?
Thank you for your help

I have openrecovery-twrp-2.5.0.0-m7wls. I never got a chance to install a custom rom or Super User. TWRP recovery will not back up, or install anything. It just says error.
So you are on stock AT&T 4.1 ? Try redownloading twrp again and check the md5 hash to make sure it is not corrupt. I've been using twrp from day 1. Download it here http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/m7

I installed clockwork mod on my old HTC One. Could I install Clockwork Mod over the existing TWRP without bricking my phone? Or do I need to download a new version of TWRP and install it on my phone again (and will that brick my phone?)?
How do I make sure the md5 is not corrupt?
I am on AT&T Stock 4.1
After you download a file use a program like this. http://m.download.cnet.com/MD5-Checker/3000-2092_4-10410639.html and compare the md5 value against what is posted when you download a file. If they match file should be good. Then re-flash twrp by booting the phone into fastboot mode. Then plug in usb and first run fastboot erase cache then fastboot flash recovery twrpxxxxx.img
Then fastboot erase cache.

Also did you originally flash with an all in one tool or manually? If all in one tool my directions will not work unless you download the android sdk and run fastboot from there from a cmd prompt if using Windows.

I want to root my device but now I don have my pc here so any process of rooting galaxy s3 without pc (adb/odin)
I want flashable zip file for rooting is there any way....?
I want root access only for some apps like chainfire .firewall.....
If you already have a custom recovery, then yes. You can. Usually, when you get out from the recovery, and you are not rooted, it will ask you to root. You select yes and it will root for you
It you are running custom recovery, I think it will be a bit harder.
Anyway, this thread had to be moved to Q&A.

The best answer to my questions was provided by BCSC, THANKS! Worked great!
Follow these steps exactly and you will have the latest Recovery running. You do not need a PC for this method.
1) Download correct Clockworkmod ot TWRP (touch or regular as you wish) for your device
2) Rename it to recovery.IMG and place it at the root of your internal sdcard
3) Download and install terminal emulator from the Play Store
4) Run the terminal and
type: su (press enter)
Then type: dd if=/sdcard/recovery.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p18 (press enter)
Be sure that you have typed the above code correctly. You will not see a confirmation. It is done almost instantly.
5) Reboot into recovery and enjoy

This won't work since su command won't run successfully coz there is no supersu app.
