I have compiled 82 system apps that I have frozen via titanium backup pro, I have risked a lot with my 600$ device and guinea pigged myself as a test subject ,for the greater cause .Of course I do have plenty nandroid backups if anything were to have gone wrong .As of now there are no know issues, force closes, etc....force closes are common when u freeze the wrong app, just for future reference !Also some force closes render the phone helpless unless you do a battery pull..in which the HTC one dorsnt have a battery to pull.
So as far as my compiled list is concerned it Is safe for everyone to use.
Everything works as should. You can choose to safely freeze whichever of the 82 apps/apks you prefer to. Feel free to add any apps you have also tested to be safe to freeze .
This greatly helps reduce lag , free up ram and and may even provide better battery life ,due to android os that sometimes has many system apps... that we don't know what they do exactly but many greatly affect our battery life because they unnecessarily run in the background and drain batter and the majority of them we never use .
This is the list freeze as many or as little as you desire to.
Every one check marked indicates it's safe to freeze .
NOTE: DO NOT DELETE/REMOVE ANY OF THESE APPS IN TITANIUM BACKUP UNLESS YOU POSITIVELY HAVE A NANDROID BACKUP IN cwm or twrp RECOVERY.I AM ONLY PROVIDING INFO ON "FREEZING APPS" "NOT DELETING".
I WILL NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY OR FEEL OBLIGATED TOO...FOR THE LACK OF FOLLOWING THE INSTRUCTIONS POSTED .
Please leave feedback with your observations towards any improvements or issues if any that you may experience.

Well, this list is very subjective. Alot of what you froze alot of people actually use. Like street view...document viewer...the remote app...among others. From looking at what you diabled it seems all you want to do is make calls and text lol.
THIS IS ABOUT WHAT CAN BE FROZEN WITHOUT ANY SYSTEM ISSUES OR FORCE CLOSES .
If you want to unappreciated that's fine too.
Obviously I have takin the freezing to an extreme,it's called freezing as many apps as possible that DONT AFFECT SYSTEM FUNCTION IN A NEGATIVE MANOR.There are many I'm sure who don't use these apps and would find It fine to do so ....and only care about speeding up there device ...I have done no wrong ..infact if anything I've answered possible questions in the future on if them apps can be frozen ....maybe there are people who would want the most possible options .So it is up to whomever to pick and choose what they want to freeze from the list. All I have done was made It clear that if they want to take it to the extreme ,all these system apps and apks are safe to freeze with no issues .

lag issues? i'm not familiar with blade buddy or that touch screen app for galaxy.
i haven't done anything *too* intensive on the phone but i have rarely experience any type of lag on this device. the lack of lagging has been very impressive to me.
if you are on the stock ROM and kernel and still experiecing lag, based on my personal experience, you might want to look into taking it back for an exchange as it could be a hardware issue.
if you don't experience the lag on a stock ROM and kernel, it might be whatever custom ROM or kernel you're using has an issue or bug. if you're on a custom ROM/kernel, also good to check in those specific threads to see if anybody else has reported a similar issue so the dev knows to look into it and resolve.
hope that helps!
Yea when I first got the phone the xda east major laggy and that's before I rooted so I guess I need to take it back then cuz this sucks...since I rooted its been flawless but couple days later the lag would come back and now my screen is becoming unresponsive at time for like 2-3 secs!!!

yea. as a last resort test, i'd flash everything back to stock and run it for a day. see if its still laggy. if it is still laggy, find good examples of when it lags so when you take it back, you can show the person how laggy it is through the examples.
hopefully you can swap out for a device w/no issues!

lol yea, given the unknown area rooting a device currently sits from a legal standpoint, i'd avoid anything related to rooting the device as a prime example.
ideally, if you're experiencing lag on the device, it will occur frequently in common tasks like making/ending a phone call or moving between text messages or moving between menus in the settings screen, etc. it makes the best case for having an issue when you're able to demonstrate it lags during normal routine operations.
hope that helps!

hah yea. working on mainly two small apps on the market, root check and flashimagegui. pondering publishing the completely stock ROM with root, busybox and some developer tools i use on my personal device (as I did publish this on the evo and it was decently popular - might be where you saw my name). also, trying to help out (give back) in the q&a boards when i can!
if you find some good common tasks which cause the device to lag, post them back here as people with the same or similar issues might find this thread through searching and it'll give them some rough benchmark to compare against.
i've yet to see this device lag through any common tasks i run. previous android phones ive had would experience lag so this device has definitely impressed me!

So, just thought I'd spread the word to my X2 family, Bloat Freezer is back in the market! Aaaaaand, it's free (with ads). I know, I know, a lot of you guys are die hard Titanium Backup fans, but a lot of us really enjoy the simplicity and efficiency of BF. I'm sure I'm not the only person happy to have the option back, plus I feel that the addition of a free version will (hopefully) lead to more people buying the paid version. So, um, yeah...check it out...

Just make sure u get the one from trey holland. And not the one where dev name is "bloat freezer" trey thinks it might be a dangerous scam.(it has BF as its icon)
The real one is free right now.
I am so happy this is back. I was follow bloat freezer on twitter and was so happy to see its return.
U can also download it free from bloatfreezer.com if u want to be certain u r getting the REAL bloat freeze

I have heard titanium doesn't completely freeze some apps. Bloat Freezer is like sticking the app in liquid nitrogen imho.
Have used it forever and it works freaking awesome.
Plus trey said that batch freezing is coming in a future update. Right now u can only defrost all or one at once or freeze one at time. Can't wait for batch freezing. Make it a lot quicker.

strange issue! looks to me like a deliberate action.
how by the accident may be replaced the file /etc/hosts??
Could be that maybe he didn't know that is what would happen exactly.
Do u have the original apks that u can go thru its contents and see if it was deliberately done or not? I would check but I just deleted the original by accident that I had downloaded from bloatfreezer.com
edit. Bloatfreezer.com download is 2.05 which I believe still had that problem. Im looking through it now and so far don't see anything that looks like deliberately editing hosts files.
just stuff about pushads and such.

I'd still use Titanium Backup... I don't know if it's changed, but when they originally introduced it, it was used to install the encrypted (mostly the paid ones) apps from the Market
If you want your apps to work properly, back it up and restore it no matter how small or large it is.

yes when you do a nandroid backup, and then restore it. as they said above it holds some data for the apps, especially if you did one of those "move2sd" things. If i dont back it up and restore it, the app will either not be installed, or not open properly

Hey all,
There's been quite a few reports of people getting duplicate SMSes in the ViperDNA ROM thread. I think I have, unfortunately, found the cause. The other day, I got a SMS from someone not on my contact list/nor anyone I recognized at all. It was like spam email, but from SMS with a link to some site to boot. I brushed it off and just deleted the message. I was reading Android Police's new article on Android anti-virus apps. I was surprised to see my $15 Kaspersky app doing so poorly, so I uninstalled it and installed the #1 rated TrustGo. I did a scan and it found a "High Risk" threat in HTCMode. I followed the link provided by the app and, sure enough, Google has acknowledged the vulnerablility.
This vulnerability is being kept very close to Google's chest, so you don't find much about it doing a search for it. It certainly isn't getting a whole lot of press, but it's gotten some.
I tried to delete the app via TrustGo, but it failed. So went into Titanium Backup and froze the app and then was able to uninstall it. I've rebooted a couple times since uninstall and there doesn't seem to be any repercussions from getting rid of it. I highly recommend you do the same.
Just a heads-up. Protect your shiny DNA and your personal info/data,

Perhaps HTC has nothing to do with this software and (as if they care) the developers are trademark infringing when they use it in the app. They merely use the HTC name to legitimize their software and make you think it should be on your phone (some Sense software.) I'm sure on the S3 it's called SamsungMode or TouchMode and tries to make it look like it's part of TouchWiz.
If HTC did create this software, then the SMiShers have just found a way to exploit a vulnerability in the software as they did with other brands. As the video and write-up details, this is not HTC-specific; but Android-wide.

Neither was I until yesterday and I was quite pissed a free app outperformed one I paid $15 for. When it found the vulnerability my anger turned to humility and concern.
All it does is allows apps to send u fake spam texts. I get that type of junk anyways without this apps help.

So reading this seems really shady that they would do this. So I'm not rooted on this phone and I don't want to root because I enjoy this phone how it is. So obviously I can't freeze this so if I disable it, won't this be the same thing as freezing it?

Let me first say :glad to be back (3-4 years back had a nokia with symbian that with the help of this forum i did minor modifications to)on the forum and out of the clutches of apple(3-4 days ago traded iphone 4 32gb for LGOG)
Now first question: I've rooted my phone attempting to remove any and all bloatware, however I can't seem to remove it?
Second question: in regards to cases what's the differences between att and sprint LGOG's?
Third question: how do I sent picture messages? Seems like a dumb question but every time I try to do so the message says something like "picture too big ,compressing" now normally that's fine it compresses the picture I send and its good however when I get said message the text I had started to send to whomever is gone and I'm back at the message as if I never started it?
Fourth question: how do I send a multiple contact message?
Finally : since this was a multiple question post, I did search , did read, tried everything I could think of to avoid asking a repeated-a-million-times-question , sorry if I did and sorry if I put in wrong part of forum
Thank you sincerely
LGOG rookie

Read carrett's at the top of the section. He explains flashing of new ROM's, etc. The ROM's can be found in one of the 2 development sections.

install titanium backup ROOT , delete any apps you do not want, really I just deleted most of the at&t stuff or stuff that requires you to purchase other things. one app that is worth its money is root explorer, sounds like you are new to android, one helpful tip to you is when you do buy these things in the play store you will always have it as long as you remember your google account, get a new device bam, still have the apps you purchased.
Yes I'm extremely new to droid as a whole
Let alone rooting and other info
Been trying to avoid posting a millions questions that could be avoided with a couple searches, I'm coming from iphone .
Iphones are insanely simple compared to droid ,however with the right tweaks droid can prevail for sure.

I phones seem simple because they don't have any of the customizations that android does. So, I guess iPhone is simple and not in a good way.
Also, "droid" is more commonly used to refer to the phone model by Motorola. We generally use the term android when speaking of the OS in broader terms. But more commonly we use the specific term for the version of Android or ROM that we're speaking of at the moment, Jelly Bean, AOSP, stock, for example. You'll get the hang of it.

Download the free Freegee App from the play store.
Run the app. Backup EFS. Click unlock Bootloader.
Boot into Fast Boot, then CWM or TWRP (depending what recovery you chose when using Freegee)
Make a backup.
Reboot phone and get an app called Titanium Backup (paid version has more options)
Using Titanium Backup you can uninstall bloatware or freeze them if you have the paid version (this is easiest and safest I believe)
OR you can use Root Explorer or a similar root file manager to manually delete each apk
Be careful what you delete. There is a post here listing what apps can safely be removed without messing up your phone.
Read twice, click once. Good luck

I would also have to say to the new guys...dont get all wound up on installing a new rom, trust me I have upgraded lots of roms from backflip, atrix, htc inspire but all those needed it. I have to say the original rom that comes on these LG's is pretty good, unless it doesnt do what you need it to I wouldnt worry about a new rom. root it so you can delete some of the bloat.
100% agreed. Amazing Rom for stock. I did the same thing and I'm loving it
