I like this way too much! :victory:
Excellent stuff here, man! :good:
~Edit~
So I went ahead and put this on my phone (how could I not?) and hit restart. When it gets to the nVidia part, it flickered....bad.
So, I decompressed the archive, checked the pics (look fine from what I can tell), then re-compressed as "store" (almost doubled the archive file size), put the new file on the phone and hit restart again. Still flickering.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

I ended up converting the wav file into mp3, renaming it to "android_audio", and dropping it into my system/customize/resources directory.
I've also played around with re-compressing the image files to around 60% with irfanview, but it made no noticeable difference in file size, so I didn't bother transferring that to my phone to check for flickering.

Hmm... Well, I have a different device to you so I can't exactly test, but the only reason I can think of is that the fps rate may be too high. OEMs set it to 20 for a reason, and I doubt it's because they're too lazy to make an extra 10 files a second
Sent from my HTC One S using xda premium

So... Could you change it to 20fps so that we can test it? Or is this discontinued?

I can report the same issue with the flickering.

Is it just me or the download link down?

I see it in 3D on there. When you view the image, try pressing menu and see if there is a button for "View in 3D".
I'm trying to figure out the .bin problem... I can only find two pictures so far that it happens with. If I download them on my PC it works fine after being transferred to my phone, but it won't allow me to download as .mpo format.
I'm going to try to remove and re-upload the problem files, so please give me some time, again I'm sorry for the problems it's having. 4shared is not being nice to me today.
Edit: Heading out now for most of the day, have to go get myself a spine injection. I'll try to get the problem files sorted later tonight.
rad as hell. downloading them all.
Holy derp batman! I figured out the .bin problem!
Apparently, if there's a space in the name, it downloads as a .bin. No space = no .bin
So from now on, no spaces in the names.
You were all downloading the "Down Shirt.mpo" picture it seems (Down Shirt has been renamed to Down_shirt, go get it lol)
Edit: Also, didn't get my spine injection today, that's why I'm still active on the forum. I'll be getting it next Monday morning.

4shared does that with stock browser along with dolphin..just rename it to correct file name and you are set..not a problem with firefox..the download engine is different so does not mess up as does stock. Also have problems with rapidshare and some of the other sites....even on file names that are correct.

.bin problem is solved. As long as the files don't have a space in them, they download as .mpo properly. Took me a while to figure out the problem, then I noticed that the only two pictures so far that wouldn't download right had spaces... Renamed the files, and the problem was solved. Not sure if it will happen again, but it seems that it's resolved at least.
I have problems downloading on 4shared with file names..happens on 3vo and also happened with evo 4g...download a mp3 from 4shared and see what I mean. With or without spaces..no big...just a pain in the rear end..
This is a known problem

[Q] Need help making a boot animation for thunderbolt

I have tried a multitude of the other guides for other devices, but so far no luck. I have the pt1 and pt2 folders set up just need to know the config for thunderbolt.
Thanks
Garrett
Drop pt.1 pt.2 into "bootanimation.zip" Use Root Explorer to copy it to the system/media folder. Make sure its the right folder, check "system/customize/resources" if not media if you didn't know. Text file in zip. Works for my thunderbolt running Bamf Sense3.0 RC4.9 Running stargate bootanimation.
http://db.tt/boP69kE
Take wife, take car, don't touch my Thunderbolt...
I dropped a link to my bootanimation.zip file. Just add your pt.1 pt.2 to the zip and drop it in your "system/media" or "system/customize/resources" file, which ever one it is. Use Root Explorer, if you didn't know that is. Use at own risk. I don't know what you files are. Make nand backup always....
Take wife, take car, don't touch my Thunderbolt...
You need a .txt file to let the phone know what part to run when and at what fps but I can't remember the code, my suggestion is to find your stock ani and look inside it for this

OK so I looked at your ani and this is what I suggest
First the only folders that should be in the zip is part 1, part 2, and the desc.txt
When I opened your zip these files were inside two other folders
Second change the PNG numbers to start at 1 (they currently start at 3
Third change the numbering to 3 digits instead of what you have now. Ie 001....etc
I can't guarantee this will fix it but its all I got. Lol

HTC Amaze 4G Bootanimation UPDATED 01/26/12(flashable)

Welcome back everyone from the SOPA blackout. I hope it raised awareness.
So I rooted my girls Amaze last night. I grabbed her bootanimation since I thought it was pretty cool lil bootanimation. It works very good on the mt4g so I decided I should share it since I've not seen anyone post it. Nothing fancy, just thought it was cool. Hope you guys like it.
DISCLAMER: Always do a back up of your current rom before making any changes. I'm not responsible for anything that happens to your device. ITS YOUR DEVICE. You know the risks.
INSTRUCTIONS:
1: download folder file from link below(link is to my box) which contains bootanimation zip
2a: rename zip to htc_bootanimation.zip for sense roms
2b: rename to bootanimation.zip for asop roms
3: change permissions
4a: move to correctsponding place system/costumize/resource for sense
4b: system/media for asop
5: reboot and enjoy
Ive also attached the sound if some one want to tackle on making it work. Im only able to have the start up sound work but not the actual bootanimation sound.
To install sound just extract the wav and mp3 from zip attached and move to same place bootanimation is located. remember to set permissions.

NOTE: For sense users, the flashable zip won't work when flashing. But will still work if extracted and files are place in system/costumize/resource manually. I've tested this method myself and confirmed working, audio and everything. Follow same steps as on top of OP to install manually.

Video of the bootanimation is up in OP. Ive also attached the bootanimation sound if some one wants to make it work.
I dont have alot of time to be able to make the sound work or correct the resolution and fps or even costumize this since i dont own a pc. Im borrowing my sisters. if anyone wants to help and make this bootanimation better be my guest. Credit will be paid where is do.
None the less, the bootanimation plays and looks good. So once again enjoy.

Dl'ing, and flashing... hang tight.
Flash was successful... but it's still laggy on my device. After looking at the boot animation closer, I realized what might be the issue. There's only 25 images in there and when it goes from 1 through 25 all seems fluid. It's when it goes from 25 back to 1 that the lag happens. At least that's what I think. Food for thought.
Keep up the good work!

Stock International Boot/Shutdown animation & Sound - Remove T-Mobile Boot Logo

So I personally hate the look of the T-Mobile boot/shutdown animations, so I extracted to stock animations from the international version of the phone. Just thought that I would share it here for anyone else who wanted to get rid to the T-Mobile boot/shutdown animation.
Adding Boot Animations
1. First, download a file explorer on your phone. I personally use Root Explorer, it costs a little but it worth every penny. A free one you can use is ES Explorer.
2. Navigate to system > media on your device. If you see files titled bootsamsung.qmg, bootsamsamsungloop.qmg, bootsamsungmini.qmg, and bootsansungminiloop.qmg then you are in the right area. If not, try again to find the right area.
3. Take only the bootsamsung.qmg, bootsamsamsungloop.qmg, bootsamsungmini.qmg, and bootsansungminiloop.qmg files from the zip attached to this post and paste them over the existing one.
If prompted by your file explorer, the permission of the files should be rw-rw-rw-
(Please note, if you want to save the stock files to restore them for any reason, replace the qmg on the stock files with XML)
Animation steps are completed!
Adding Boot Sound
For sound we are going to do pretty much the same thing
1. Navigate to System > Media > Audio > UI, if you see a bunch of files ending in .ogg, you're in the right area!
2. Replace the stock PowerOn.ogg with the one in the zip attached to this post.
(Please note, if you want to save the stock files to restore them for any reason, replace the ogg on the stock files with XML)
3. (optional) If you don't like the shut down sound on your device, delete the file title PowerOff.ogg
Reboot and enjoy!
Hopefully that helps out anyone who was having issues. Let me know if you have any other questions or concern!
im with you, ty sir.

Awesome, I am guessing that you would need a file explorer to do anything. Most people on here have recommended ES File explorer. Its free and does a lot of things, but does take some getting used to if your not real familiar with the file structure.
Hope this gets you started in make your phone truly YOURS. Gotta love Android.

Yeah, you do need a file Explorer to do this, I can make this a flashable zip if people are interested though. As for file explorers, I prefer Root Explorer, it's the best out there Imo. It costs a buck or two, but worth it to support great deal.

Same thing here... I can't get my screen to lock now and it turns off my auto brightness and just sticks on the s5 splash screen tried putting the stock files back but still didn't fix it

Make sure that you aren't pasting the PowerOn.ogg where the boot .qmg's go, and make sure you aren't pasting the qmg's in where the PowerOn.ogg goes. I know that's a pretty confusing explanation but that seems to be what would cause the issue for you guys. I'll update the OP with more exact instructions.
As for a flash-able zip, I will try to get the done sometime this week. I have an interview today at work I'm preping for so I probably wont get it done today.

Yeah, maybe its something with that ROM. I haven't used it before so I'm not sure. I'm sorry.
Anyone want to post the stock tmobile boot animation And sounds?

So, the startup animation/sound is working great (thank you!), but it's still T-Mobile sound for the shutdown. Do you happen to have the PowerOff.ogg from international version?
Also, I created a flashable .zip file for the stuff you provided, and a return-to-stock .zip also. If you can provide the file above, I can include it before sending them to you for posting here.
EDIT: I went ahead and posted it without any shutdown sound. The T-Mobile one will restore the original animations and the boot/shutdown sounds also.

Same exact problem, and I'm no noob to this either. Not sure what is breaking it.
I think one of those boot animations (at least one of the four) are corrupt. OP, you may want to have a look at those files and maybe replace them, they might have uploading improperly.
For those who got stuck with a stuck screen, I believe it is the boot animation that is the problem (not the sounds). Replacing the originals does work, just don't use the flash. Here are the original 4 qmg files for the media folder (delete the others out).

I'm confused - are the .zip files that I provided broken? I just now re-downloaded both straight to my phone from here, and they appear to be working...
