I have a fascinate and I am on aokp_fascinatemtd_milestone-5-glitched and my ringtone is so low I miss most calls unless it is literally next to me.
Is there a way to increase the volume of the speaker so i can hear it?
Thanks
The voodoo sound app is on this rom.
lol c'mon now. I'm gonna assume u have the volume turned all the way up already. Either boost the sound output using a volume control app like Volume+ from the play store... or edit ur ringtone with sound editor to increase the amplitude. Depending on ur version of AOKP, u can boost sound via "Device Settings" or "Galaxy S Settings" in System Settings. All else fails, flash the latest AOKP rom.

The problem really was that the phone would lose the ringtone and not ring at all.
I had to create a media folder then a audio folder then a notifications folder then a ringtones folder and put the ringtone in there......now I have a ringtone that works and I can hear it.

Just play around with the settings, I haven't been in a gingerbread rom for a while, batter life is precious to me. But, there should be something for earphones and speakers. You don't need to reboot.

I resolved my volume issues by purchasing the glitch rc updater app on the market. It downloads v13 rc kernel that has an included script for volume. My phone is back to being loud on all speakers, its worth $5.... (Galaxy S only)
I"m looking for a volume booster that will make ring tones and the like louder, not the music (that's plenty loud)...but I guess I have a hard time hearing and it seems like text/ring/notification/email tones are all very quiet, even with the volume turned all the way up.
Anyone? Also running ICS.
I think there's LITERALLY an app called, "volume booster" XD check it out man!

Dsp manager has a speaker setting. Download and install apk here and thank boost if it's what you're looking for.

I thought it was only me having that issue. I have a new Motorola elite and the Jawbone era and I can barely hear the ring notification on my headsets. When I answer everything is loud and clear. I'll try the DSP apk as well and I'll post something if I find a fix. It's the same whether I'm on ICS or any of the collective roms.

Just curious did you root your phone or alter the ROM? On the free version it gives a warning not to download if you are using a stock rom or Kernel. I am stock just wanted to make sure.

Does it increase the in-call volume when using the handset? If so, how did you do it? I can't get it to increase mine.
Can't get it to increase anything, and I did make it the main volume control app.

I've never tried to make the call volume any higher to be honest,..though I know it has options to set up a higher in call level setting....seems like it adds something to the build prop so I never tried...lol...
I found this through the CALLRECORDER app called AlsaMixer seems like its working nice on my current unofficial rom....I also have installed volume+....But this seems to make increases on every spectrum, .check it out
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.skvalex.alsamixer
Tell me what you guys think, I'm playing now with the settings its hard to set.. any feedback or setups would be a great help....
Thanked.
Checking it out now!
edit: This looks confusing lol which setting would make the speaker louder overall? Like on games and everything.
I know right...I think the overall volume one.. I set it to1-100 I put 30...man this crushes any app I've used for volume....my incall volume is even louder...I wish I had a guide to a setup or something....for now its just trial and error
How is this app working out now that its been a few days?
I downloaded it, but I have no clue what to use to make ringtones and text tones louder. Anyone?
Device_volume I put 30 in that field it seems to increase a lot so far....! Still haven't messed with any other values except for the self explanatory ones...and I know it works...also still have volume+ installed as well...but that's what I think are phone was missing those alsamixer files...kinda like how audio booster puts a modded soundbooster file in the system.. this adds all of them on every aspect
So you put plain old 30 in the Device Volume.
Did you have to check the set on reboot and reboot to hear the difference?
Any other tweaks that worked?
thank you .. dig the find
OK...set it to 40...I originally had it at 30 and didn't hear much of a difference.
for me text messages are truly to low. need to find the setting for that one when I get home to my phone
ok i set my device_volume to 40 apply to boot...also i have volume+ speaker settings>volume level at 7,,then go to in call settings. and say you have root to get the root access command then back out.....this phone cant get any louder without distortion, when i get a text i can hear it in the basement now...lol.

In volume+ just system speakers to 7......in alsamixer in device_volume set to 40 apply to boot....ot changes all the volumes on every aspect...sms. ringtones.. incall volume....I found it by downloading callrecorder and it said to try aslamixer for better incall volumes...so I recorded my wife and playback the files it was crystal clear and loud on both ends of the callrecoder app...so I k ow it works. I tried with and without the app
Alsomixer and volume+ last pic system volume speakers set to good quality and to 7...

Really? What setting are on? Some reason when I went to call setting it then promt for root settings then said allow.. I rebooted and noticed the changes, but with alsamixer tottaly different..I only wanted to increase my call volume and it changed everything ..I love these two apps My phone is extremely loud now..
@Wish777 ;
Are you running Gingerbread? I've would like to try "alsamixer" but It seems not compatible with iCS ..
Is there a way to make the ringer and notification volumes to be linked together so they both change to when I use my volume buttons? The buttons only change the ringer volume and I want it to change both ringer and notification volumes together.
I tried Quick Settings from the Play store which I have used on other phones to "link" the volumes. But it doesn't do that on my SGS3. I have tried a couple other apps that say they do that, but again they don't link the volumes together on my SGS3. Anybody know how to do this?
Having trouble with AudioGuru (paid). It doesn't seem to effect the volume either. Alert function not adjusting the alert.
More details.
With the Alert Notification sound set in GoSMS, the phone Alert Notification sound is different. AudioGuru only shows the Phone Alert Notification sound not the GoSMS Alert Notification sound. When muting the AudioGuru 'Alert' only the Phone Alert Notification sounds is muted. The GoSMS Alert Notification sound is not effected thus not muted etc..
I hope we find a fix to this. I'll be checking back but I too would like both these sounds to be at the same level. Thinking I had my phone on silent and then getting slammed with a notifcation ring is not what I intended.
Wait.. they aren't pre linked?

I will be watching this thread too. I have tried many apps on the market that said it could link ringer and notification sounds, but none of them worked. Hopefully there is a workaround for this. When I turn my volume all the way down, I assume it will make no noise. Then I had my email sound go off at 3AM when I was sleeping. Not what I wanted at all. Many phones have this option in the sound settings, so I don't see why Samsung couldn't have put that in here.

^^^ This.
I've spent the last day un-TouchWiz'ing the phone as much as possible (replacing apps with AOSP ones, launcher with Trebuchet, etc) but this volume thing is driving me batty.
I have been able to get the ringer and officiating sounds to "link" using the Go Switch widget. It works all the time when you open the widget and check the box to link the two and adjust the volume while the widget is open but Ive also got it working otherwise but this is spotty.
Yes! i would love to have the 2 linked. When I first got the phone I couldnt figure out why the ringer was so low and the Notifications were so loud.
Since the ICS update, I've been having some issues with the built in music player.
First, playing music, when a notification is received and you have a notification sound set, music pauses, notification sound plays, then music plays at the notification sound level until you adjust the volume. Not sure if this is an ICS bug or HTC music player bug.
Second, playing music, when google navigation speaks a direction, the audio volume is not lowered and/or paused like on GB. Basically means you can't listen to music and navigate, as music drowns out any navigation directions.
Google play music does lower the volume properly when navigating, but it can't use the HTC SRS WOW filter or Beats filter. Same applies to any other third party app, so they aren't acceptable solutions. Generally, I prefer the HTC music UI anyways.
Anyone experiencing the same problems/have workarounds/etc?
I haven't tried this so I will see if it happens to mine. You could always try flashing the beats mod that allows beats to work with all apps. It would be a band aid in effect

I get the increased volume after a notification too. Not sure if there is a setting to block out notification sound when music is playing like in CM. Haven't really hunted around yet. As for the other issues I don't play music during navigation so don't know about that.
Its not a reset issue I believe its a flaw built into Sense. Probably a line of code written wrong for the notification volume while music is playing on HTC's music player. I believe other players have options to mute notifications sounds but I haven't checked to be sure.

Yes. Sort of took the ota while unlocked and totaled my install. So wiped everything quite a few times.
Re: disabling notification sound. I actually prefer to hear it; disabling it isn't a good solution. I suspect it's a bug in sense and/or the music player.
Flashing the beats mod would be no good as I only use beats when using headphones. I disable it when using speakers as it sounds like crap over them - the HTC SRS filter sounds better. It's my understanding that the beats mod is not easily disabled on the fly, either.

As a temporary solution I've set the volumes for notifiactions and ringtones to the same as media to see if that at least alleviates the problem of having to lower my sound volume when the mysic player is running. Now I just need to find a way to test it out.
Edit: It didn't work, I sent an email to myself from my pc while I was listening to music thru the phones headphones and the volume increased as usual. I went into settings and the notfications volume had actually increased on it own, its like it resets itself to some default voulme after a notification. The media volume I had set hadn't increased at all but the volume was definetly louder. Its as if the media volume switches to using that of the notification and ringtones setting.
I included some pics as to whats happening. Volume 1 is what I set before the notification was sent and volume 2 is where the settings were after a notification came in. However the phone doesn't appear to even be using these settings as the music is much louder than the settings in either photo.

Yeah, any sort of volume adjustment fixes the level, after the notification.
