you cant s-off yet........ and i think there wont be a way to do that to our phone ) but you never know

no easy way. not yet. Why do you want to change cid? if you wanna restore to stock , then use the Stock nandroid Backup shared by ckpv5

[Q] revolutionary s-off questions

I currently have a htc desire which i wanna s-off, i came across revolutionary which is said to s-off my phone, but i currently have custom rom installed with data2sd. can i just run it? will it brick my phone?
I did mine yesterday and had no issues whatsoever! Successfully S-OFFed!
I am on MIUI D2EXT ROM
Ensure that the HBOOT version is as mentioned in the website. Do NOT proceed if using 0.8
So, u can run it even if rooted? Nice, does it turn the s-on to s-off or does it just change the bootloader thingy?

It changes from S-on to S-OFF and the bootloader from 0.93.0001 to 6.93.1002
So, its just like alpharev right? With the purple hboot thingy at the top

Noob questions :P

Hi I'm rlly new to android... Just switched from iPhone to htc desire x 2 days ago. Anyway, I iv been doing my research and had a few questions-
If I flash a custom rom, how do I go back to factory settings and stock rom?
If I get a custom recovery like clockworkmod, how do I get my stock recovery back-is it just reflashing the ruu?
How do I unlock the bootloader without htc dev, I don't want to void my warranty
How do I take a backup of my stock rom? - if I mess up then how do I use the backup to restore to factory settings?

To install a custom recovery you need to unlock the bootloader on your phone. Once unlocked it can only be relocked with a sign 'RELOCKED' on top of bootloder. Plus HTC has records about users that requested unlock code for their devices. However unlocking of bootloder doesn't deny your warranty but HTC can always claim that malfunction came as a result of your usage.
It's easy to unlock bootloader kust follow the steps on htcdev.com.
To fully return back to stock you just need to flash RUU (Rom Update Utility) that can be obtained here on forum.
You can make a backup of stock rom from custom recovery you flash after unlocking.
Thx for the info, was quite useful, was wondering if there is a official version of cwm for desire x?

Locking bootloader

Is there any way i could get my phone Locked not Relocked?
I cant update device since unlocking and its really annoying...
Which CID? For updating, relocked works as well, but you need to have stock ROM installed for this to work. To add, you also need stock boot.img and stock recovery.img.

Your doing it all wrong,
1. Unlimited.io doesn't support windows any longer there fore you took the risk of using it and soft bricking your phone
2.it is the wrong software your using I think an older version as well latest was 0.8 (not sure bout the version) anyhow your supposed to use the GB version NOT the ICS one
3. Sadly only through S-OFF n supercid you can upgrade it to ICS
overall you need to read more before playing with your phone cuz I know you don't want to brick your phone cheers
