S4 gesture port request - Galaxy Note II Themes and Apps

Is it possible to bring the gestures from the s4 to our note 2... i especially like the wave to answer phone calls...
Sent from my GT-N7105 using xda app-developers app

Doubt it, but I think someone could maybe port the camera?

Any wave gestures is easily possible as the S3 and Note 2 have these sensors, just wait, I believe there are devs on this, it probably will also be introduced on the next Note 2 firmware update.

Obviously an un educated guess!

I believe S4 has an additional infrared sensor with more range than the available proximity sensor. Hence, max we can do on
note 2 or s3 is to use proximity sensor. The Wave Control app already has most of this feature

Wait for 4.2.2 official update from Samsung.

The official update won't bring the air gestures to neither s3 nor note2 as both devices are missing infrared sensor
I hope some developers can mod it using proximity sensor

Air gesture on the S4 is almost useless, with the exception of it previewing messages etc. The Note 2's air view makes sense and is a lot better, works like a mouse, which with the S4 does not. 9.5/10 you would rather view a message than air view it.

Just wait til official 4.2 update from Samsung for Note 2. I couldn't care less about gesture functions, I only want the ability to use widgets on lockscreen that 4.2 has.

Sorry, I was referring to air view, if you look at my last quote, air gestures will make it to the next update, if not, it's easily portable for a dev.

Yes, that just uses the standard sensor (proximity) you find in the S3 and Note 2, whereas the air view uses a heat sensor, which only the S4 has.

im waiting for the port of its super camera functions !!

But a similar function can be implemented using S-Pen.

you all can try Hovering Controls, it emulates Air gesture for all phones (Android 2.2 and up) and works mostly with all music/video players, even with screen off.
you can find it here:

and here:

[Request][Q]Keyboard to rival iOS?

Hi guys,
I've been loyal to android for about a year now, but I only have one complaint: The keyboard
Typing on iOS is easy and great, even on a small screen. Why don't we have a keyboard with that fluid usability? I've tried Swype (prefer typing), Swiftkey X, the TW4 Keyboard, stock GB keyboard, and Thumb keyboard and they all seem to disappoint a little in the shadow of iOS's keyboard.
So my question is: Is anyone working on or thinking about working on a keyboard with iOS-like functionality? I'd honestly pay $5 to download a keyboard that works like the iPhone's.
If you have any keyboard suggestions, post them below.
While I am unable to post the keyboard - as I don't have it myself - apparently the keyboard on the Galaxy S2 in Korea is the best. No issues with the patents held here in the US by Apple, so the accuracy is the same as it is with iOS.
If anyone can find it, pull it, set up an apk that will work with other Android phones, it would be appreciated!

Depends on the responsiveness of your phone actually. I have an iPod touch 4g, and I like it so much better than any android phone I've owned.

HAHA! That is why we are trying to get the other keyboard. It is (apparently) very much like the iOS keyboard and should be responsive and very accurate. I saw someone state that their accuracy went from 80% with the Android default to about 95% with the Samsung Philippians keyboard.

Not sure. I have to get the keyboard to see if it can be used on any other phone with stock ROM first. There may be a device check on the keyboard, though I do not know at the moment.
Need a daring person to try this app out. I found it from the Philippine Samsung Galaxy S2 Rom on this site. I cannot install it because I have the Samsung Keyboard already and it won't overwrite my current one - I need to root when it is good to go for the Epic Touch.
Let us know how it works.

Thumb Keyboard
I keep going back to Thumb Keyboard, it seems to have the best autocorrect and is the quickest. Also, try A.I. type, although I don't like it, I know many who do.
There's an emulator in the market. It's $4.50.

No NFC?!

I just got off the phone with Samsung and they confirmed my hunch that the Galaxy Note does NOT have NFC capabilities.
Why would they include it in the skyrocket and then drop it in the newer note?
Do you think it could be because of the way that AT&T is going to handle NFC by requiring a special SIM card? Will the SIM card take over the NFC of the phone?
Does anyone know anything about this?
We have the NFC chip in the back cover. Its just not enabled.

I am hoping this will be opened up at some point with later releases of software, custom or not. I would love to slim down my actual wallet.

I had seen that but had also seen people saying that it didn't have it which is why I called Samsung. Just conflicting answers so I went to the source. Now I'm not sure why Samsung would say it doesn't have it when it does and is just inactive. My initial questions are invalid at this point as the users above have pointed out that it does have it and I posted the picture showing what I assume is the NFC chip.
That being said... I really hope that one of the great Devs around here can cook something up that enables it. I used it on my skyrocket and am missing it.
IMO, the ROMs should be created from the Canadian versions...or at least have the stuff you need stolen from them.
NFC is active
Can turn LTE on and off
Have S Planner

My guess, NFC will be made available with the roll out of the iPhone 5. Of course, that will essentially give the iPhone exclusive use of the feature for at least 6 months while it's slowly rolled out to older phones that have it disabled. (not that Apple would ever make a deal to stymie the competition so it looks like they were an innovator of something)

one of the skyrocket guys has a tag set on his night stand that he set up to do a number of things when he sets his phone on it...ie turn volume down, turn on alarms etc etc ...all just buy setting the phone there
Open the back of the phone up, look at the inside of the back casing, the thing attached there with the 2 contacts on it is the nfc chip or radio. We have it, its just not active on the stock ROM but I assume will be on the ics upgrade or custom ROM as some have already pointed out.

nothing works with NFC unless you happen to live in a bigger city, and not even then usually. It's just a check box feature on phones. It may have a place in the future, but currently there is no use for a majority of people.

I was just about to request this but then I saw your post. The 4.3 notifications have less unnecessary padding and the darker color goes along better with the system scheme.

Thanks
Thanks needed this.
Hi. Installed the maxlock but can't find the option to lock it with the imprint ?
It's automatic. Once you setup the app settings, say with pattern lock, select apps to lock and then go try and open a locked app you should see a finger print icon at the bottom of the lock input screen.

Welcome guys...
Another improvement.. As you might have noticed.. This method can only lock the app but can't hide content in notification.. I used to use an app called finger security on note 4 for this purpose.. I just restored that app from my titanium back up and voila it's working!
So now I am using finger security to both lock apps and hide content of the app.
The funny thing is even the developer of the app is not aware it's working.. I wrote mail to him and probably he is looking into it now..

I downloaded the application using another phone, backed up the apk and send it to my Nexus 6P, the application itself can use the fingerprint sensor, but when protecting other applications, it just sit there with that splash screen and can't use the sensor, can you explain how you did it, your settings, your ROM???
Thanks in advance

Yes, full reboot, and tried almost every settings combinations and giving the applications all the permissions.
Running stock 6.0.1 rooted with EX kernel.

I am assuming you are using finger imprint as default phone lock.
Try using Nova launcher in "root" mode and then try this app again

Even developer of this app was surprised when I told him it's working on Nexus. Hope soon he will standardize it and release.. He said he is looking into it now..

Yes fingerprint as default phone lock, and already using Nova with root to expand the notification with swipe down gesture.
Thanks, it works perfectly

You're original post said you backed up the apk and sent it to your phone. Try removing it and downloading fresh from the xposed module search.
