[Q] ROMs with H0tcakez, kko, or ASDK kernels ? - HTC Rezound

I tried both the Infection and the CM10.1 ROMs (latest) but both had call echo problems ie the other person hears an echo of themselves. Googling around I read in several places that most AOSP ROMs have this issue. One place (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2112720) mentions the 3 kernels in the title as possible solutions. However, I cannot find any ROMs with these kernels anywhere.
1. Does such a ROM exist?
2. Can I simply switch to one of these kernels after installing say CM10.1 ROM?
apologies if these are noobie questions.

Kernels are made specific for a phone model, you'd need to get the developer of one of those kernels to port one to the Rezound...

[Q] Which ROM do you use?

Hey everybody!
Now as there are a lot of ROMs for our S2 it's quite hard to decide which one to take. To make it easier for someone who's still searching it would be nice to know which ones are the most used ones.
I won't put any versions here, just the main name cause the versions change very fast
So, which ROM do you prefer and are you using at the moment?
Why do you use it?
Double thread, why?

Because he didn't know how/if he could make a poll. It's quite clear if you read the redundant thread
Is there any quick summary of the key features of these kernels? I'm finding the ROM threads a little light in the first post on features and limitations. I know it's subjective, but it would be nice if someone could collect a 2 line summary of each rom. Along the lines of [perf/power] [de/odex] [stock apps/minimal apps]. Also if they are supported only with a specific kernel or not.
leomar for me is the best! if you read the topic of this rom, you will see that the developer is also creating the revolution app...i suggest to stay informed about this rom!
i like cognition S2. always up to date.
Self adapted Cognition 1.2 with added boot /sounds /ringtones/ home brew CSC Hardcores Kernel .

Best kernel / rom combination? whats your opinion?

Yes, i realize this has been asked over 9000 times before (though a search for "best" didnt return anything), and yes i know best is different for everyone, so i dont expect a definate answer, im just looking for some opinions.
Which rom/kernel packages have you used, what are you using now, and why? what makes the one your using now better (or worse) than previous packages?
Im no stranger to flashing kernels / roms, however to me they all seem to be very similar, just different theming (i use Go Launcher anyways, so thats a non-issue.)
Lets get some general feedback which Kernels / roms you like and which ones you tried and hated!
I use the is this thread for real ROM, coupled with the I can't believe you made a new thread about this even after knowing there's loads already, kernel.
I find it works really well, much better than the previous threads.
Like i said, i used the search, nothing popped up. If you know better keywords to search for i'll gladly read through previous threads instead of waiting for people to post yet again.
Theres no way i can sift through the thousands of posts that are here when the search wont help me.
Let's see, from the past few days, searching for "kernel rom" in the Q&A section.
Poll: Which custom ROM(s) (any ver.) you usually flash on I9100?
[Q] which rom is best?
[Q] SGS2 Fast ROM & Kernel Combo (5333 Quadrant).
Which rom its better or the best?
[Q] What is best ROM for SII ?
[Q] which is the best combination of kernal ver and Rom for good battery life??
Which ROM to pick up? Too spoilt for choice!.
Thread closed.
Best relies on so many variables flash as what's best for someone else isn't likely to be best for you! Make a backup and flash away...............

[Q] Kernel

I know this might get flamed but, what Kernel do YOU have the best results on, i know everyone uses their phones different, have different apps and all. but as an individual which Kernel do you achieve the most satisfaction out of?
ATM using RotBox 1.2
Latest Fluxi Kernel
About a week ago I switched to the rooted XWLPG stock Sammy kernel (using with an XWLPG based ROM) and the results have surprised me. Battery life and scrolling performance are as good as any other custom kernel I've used, and there are no bugs I've come across. I know that a couple of other people have complained about the smoothness of this kernel, but I have not experienced that problem, even when running underclocked at 1 GHz.
first of all, questions go in the q&a section.
and for us to recommend a kernel, one would have to know, what rom you use. you cannot use certain ics kernels with gingerbread and you cannot use stock kernels with aosp.
and how do you get a thanks for a question like that?

I thanked him accidentally. Gave you one too for your trouble.
Just try them yourself. A good place to start would be to sort the forum by "Stats".

ROM question

I've been researching the (many!) different ROMs out there and wondering why, the ROMs that appear to be the more popular ones (Resurrection Remix, Revolt, Thunderbolt) don't appear in the XDA forum category "Samsung Galaxy S II I9100 > Galaxy S II Android Development"
ie. in the article "Index of ROMs" I would have expected these to show up or some indication that they are the "preferred" ROMs... but instead I see a list of 10, 20, etc random ROMs that were just updated today/yesterday.
If someone can help with my newbie confusion...
1. Is it true that Resurrection Remix, Revolt, Thunderbolt are the more popular ROMs
2. If so, why are there so many other ones mentioned here?
I apologize in advance if this is a silly question, but trust me, I've been doing my fair share of research and can't figure this out
They don't appear in original android dev because they're not 'original' ie, built up from scratch. Some are AOSP based, others AOKP, CM, yada yada.
Why are there so many? Simply because, as the first thread in the Q&A states, theres no such thing as a best ROM or a preferred one, for that matter. There are many to choose from as you may have noticed, so pick one that fulfills your requirements, or merely catches your fancy and use it. Some ROMs have turned out to be more popular than others, but that doesn't imply they're the "best" and so other ROMs shouldn't exist.

Your questions have been answered already but I have to add that those ROMs you mentioned are popular, but they are not the most popular.
ParanoidAndroid, which is available in Original Android development of this forum, is the 4th Most popular Custom ROM for Android in the present day.
Anyway, don't choose ROM by popularity. It does not work like that everytime

Need help with dialer

sorry for starting a new thread but i have researched and tried everything i could before posting here.
i own a i777 and am located in india. recently i had a baby and my wife is at her mother's place with the baby. i use native 3g video calling daily to talk to them. the problem is, i have found only one rom (mystic glory- which is a great rom, thks to Mysticking)so far with "dialer with contacts" .i have been using this rom for last 6 months dd basis.
Now i would like to get myself some jellybeans on the phone. i had downloaded a lot of jb roms(i777, ported i777, tried hellraising i9100 roms) hoping to have native video calling....but no luck......couldnt successfully hellraise i9100 roms with the procedures mentioned in ported development forum.
i have also tried to install several respective "dialer with contacts" (respective meaning xxlsj, xwlpg, xwlpq etc) mods and .apk files using the method of puting them in system folder with solid explorer (followed exact steps descried in general forum to replace system apks) but no luck what so ever.
i cant even use dual booting, since mystic's rom is ics and there is no kernel (to the best of my knowledge) that can dual boot ics and jb together. so basically i m stuck with mystic glory (no disrespect to Mysticking or his rom which is superb for ics).
now my question is can somebody direct me in the right direction, and suggest a foolproof method to install "dialer with contatcs" on practically all roms so i can explore the treasure of roms developed by beautiful ppl of xda. i m not an expert yet, but i can follow proper directions very well. willing to learn and do basic programming if i have to.
Or even better if somebody can be so kind to develope a app like market app whick can be installed on any rom.
please help.
What is "dialer with contacts"?

I think most roms remove the video call feature because we can't use it in the US. You can try asking a rom developer to give you a cwm flashable file of the dialer with video call (if it originally had it).
