I believe something is wrong with my Internal SD. Whenever I take a picture with my phone camera, regardless of the camera app, the image doesn't save. When I take a screenshot, I get a notification that says "Couldn't save screenshot. Storage may be in use." My external Micro-SD card is currently not connected, so the issue is with the Internal-SD. I recently did a factory reset of my phone, but did not wipe the Internal-SD. I then restored all my apps that I had backed up with Titanium Backup Pro. A few hours later, I tried to take some picture with the camera but they didn't save.
In some attempts to fix the issue I rebooted into TWRP and wiped some things. First I cleared the Cache and Dalvik-Cache. Then I wiped and formatted the Internal-SD. Upon rebooting I discovered the image saving still didn't work. I was thinking about using Titanium Backup Pro to freeze all the running apps on the phone, defrost the camera app, and then try to take a picture to see if an app was constantly using the Internal-SD. I did not do this for a fear of possibly bricking the phone.
I could use quite a bit of help on this one.

Ive been running a AOSP Rom for about a month. Yesterday I took it off the charger, and when it booted up It went to a black screen. Even a battery pull didn't help, so I restored a backup from last week. It worked great, but it would not recognize my external SD. I couldnt fix it so I went into recovery, did a full wipe, and restore a sense rom. That worked, my ext SD came back, but my internal storage was gone, all the data was wiped. Ive tried several data recovery apps/programs, and they dont detect anything?
Mainly, I am trying to recover voice recordings, and voice mail that I saved. So am i SOL???
Try mounting internal through recovery and run a recovery program that can recognize corrupt, deleted, and formatted partitions. Assuming you have windows, Recuva is a pretty good at recognizing the differences. Actually recovering files is hit and miss, but it's very reliable for a free program
Hi,
I have a Huawei Ascend G6 (U10) and rooted my device with TowelRoot 3.0
When you get a new phone it's custom to first fully charge your device and then let it fully deplete before fully charging it again to make sure you use the full capability of your device's battery. (during this time I rooted my device) Now, while it was at only 3% of battery I was playing a silly game, called Can KnockDown 3. While playing this game, my device turned off due to no battery. After it fully charged again, I tried to run the game again but it got stuck on the initialisation screen.
No big deal, I thought. So, I went on and just un-installed it and tried to re-install it. Problem is, I got Google Play error 492 when I tried to download/install the game once more. So I restarted my device, tried to un-install the Play Store and tried a hard reboot. None of those worked.
After some reading I got to know that I had to install an app called "ROM manager", boot into Recovery Mode and delete the Dalvik Cache (Which was said to be located in "Settings". Now, I don't know much about phones, nor Android. So that proved quite difficult. I went into Recovery Mode but was unable to find the "Settings" tab. So, I wiped Cache and the other setting. Can't quite remember. When I rebooted it, the problem was STILL not solved.
Now, I never noticed the REAL problem because I had my external SD card mounted.
This morning, I wanted to change my profile picture on an app called What's App Messenger. It gave me the following error: "Failed to load image data, please try again later." That really bothered me and after a reboot the problem was still not solved. I quickly realised that all my pictures were on my external SD so I turned off my phone to take it out. Booted it without external SD. Tried to make a picture with my camera, but it said "Internal Sotrage full. Please insert an SD card." but when I went to my filemanager there was NOTING on my internal SD. No maps, nothing. However, in my settings it says that only 1.98 GB of the 4 GGB internal storage is used...
Could someone please help me with this?
try using DiskUsage app, it shows every folder in your phone and how much space they take, also if you have rooted your phone, it shows wich system folders take most of the space (logs and tmp folders, safe to erase)

I appreciate your reply, but I don't think that's the problem. I think my internal SD card is f***ed up now. I've tried wiping it all I want but to no avail. Probably something went wrong with rooting it, or installing ClockWorkMod or something. I don't know.
What I do know is that I need help!
Have you found a solution
So I've got a strange problem with my phone. Sometimes after I snap a picture the phone freezes and reboots and the pic I took is corrupt (saving to phone storage). More interesting is that my microSD somehow decided it was going to corrupt and be unusable as well. I noticed this after trying to take pix and they would all be corrupted when saving to SD.
Anyone ever seen this before? Going to try a factory reset today and see if that solves any problems.
Running stock rooted ROM.
More info about your device like is it
Unlocked?
Custom recovery?
Rooted?
S-OFF?
ROM if at all?
Was the sdcard you inserted new or did you use your device to format it.did you select the option to save to the external sdcard .
I think after doing a factory reset you should format the sdcard with the device and than use "SD fixer" from the play store if rooted and give it a go again.this is all with no info about your device specifics
Stock rooted ROM. Clockwork Mod. Not unlocked.
The SD card came out of my Note 3 which I had been using fine for about a year and it never had a problem. In fact it seemed to work fine in the M8 for a couple of weeks. Card can be read from but not written too either by the phone nor a computer. It will no longer format either. I've tried formatting in computer and in phone as well, no dice.
After that all started happening I switched my camera back to saving yo internal memory. That's when my phone would start locking up and rebooting randomly when I would take a pic. Doesn't happen all of the time just randomly. When it does happen and the phone comes back up the pic shows up in the gallery as corrupt.
Just did a factory reset last night and bought a new card. So far so good.
Nice to know all is good now
Will report back if problem reoccurs and especially if the new SD card somehow gets corrupted beyond repair again.
Hi,
I just noticed strange thing when prowling in ESFile Explorer. My LOST.dir folder "takes" whole 143GB of data. I noticed that when I was cleaning my phone with SD Maid - when scanning it shows "only" 15GB ready to delete, but it finally fail every time. In Disk Usage it also shows so gigantic LOST.dir folder. Nor CCleaner help too. I rebooted my phone twice, but it gave no result.
The last few days I was playing N4S:NL, today it failed a couple times during the loading screen, so I decided to reinstall it. Suprisingly during the uninstallation process it didn't ask me if I want to uninstall data folder of the app too.
I can connect the phone to a PC with no issues, I thought that deleting LOST.dir in Windows Explorer can help, but I was mistaken.
Does any one have some advice what should I do? I would rather not to reflash the ROM or wipe it in recovery.
up
Anyone?
Can't you delete lost.dir folder manually using some file manager? Have you tried formatting the internal storage (Yes you will need to backup your files before doing this)? If this doesn't work, I recommend using a pit file to reconfigure all partitions on your phone, just make sure to backup!
Regards, gsstudios
No, it is impossible to delete it in i.e. ESFile, it fails everytime. Now it became even worse, I got permanent notification, which says that i'm running low on memory and some system functions may don't work. In fact they don't, I can't take a screenshot, some apps fails to run.
Last time I updated CM with this built-in function, it replaced CWM with some CM Recovery. It is poor with its few options. There is no option to backup or flash rom. It's a shame because I have a backup taken just after flashing fresh LP.
I tried to format data/factory reset in there - no result.
After all I decided to switch back to CM11, this time with 4GB pit file. I remember it to be better optimized (it was running smoother on my phone) than CM12.1. The only thing I didn't like was that issue with music stopping to play randomly. Hope it will work flawlessly, but waiting for some stable 6.0 rom
After installing a custom kernel on my S4 MINI DUOS, it was not starting, so I came back with the kernel stock, but now I can not save, download, or delete files from the internal memory when I take a picture of the screen that appears
"Can not save the screen image. USB storage may be in use"
Also the camera also does not work, "camera error" among other problems as xposed accuses nd internal sd card
is there any solution to this problem? reinstalling the rom stock would cause the problem to be solved?
Well you shouldn’t be messing around with kernels. Now you will have to back EVERYTHING up to the cloud, and perform a factory reset. Restore all your data after resetting.
