[Q] re-root after I9300XXEMC2-update failed? - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello folks!
After I updated my s3 via KIES on I9300XXEMC2 today and had then rooted with cf-autoroot, superuser is gone... According to Google Play it is installed but can not open it... icon in the app menu is also missing... what it could be?
I do not have one root, since inter alia Titanium has no access...
I want to install PARANOID for some testing...

When you update it is best to uninstall SU before you re root, if google play says it is installed then you should be able to uninstall it from there then reinstall it from the market

well yes, I had to laugh very hard as I read the description of the App: "This is only a license key"... omg
so I have to install the standard and the Pro-Key... thx
How to set this thread to status answered?

Market Enabler without root ?

Hey Guys
the only reason i want to root is market enabler
cuz my countries market sucks and i want the american one
root is no problem for me i have already rooted all my old phones and friends phones
but i dont see it necessary now and i like touchwiz so no roms interest me
So please please is there anyway you can tell to have market enabler without root or anyway to have the american market ( PS:i have aptoide and 1 mobile im only interested in google play american merket )
Easiset way would be to Root your phone and get Market Enabler you wont lose touchwiz when rooted
Hi,
Market Enabler without root: not possible.
So you need root, but root don't mean change rom, kernel, launcher or anything else it just gives you root acess after that it's just you who decides what to do, so in your case just use Market Enabler... And you keep everything else "stock" (but with root access ).
You do not have to change anything if you do not want it. The root is just the opportunity and permission to access the file system by yourself or by an app that needs it (in short).

NO.
For this, for an "American market" like you said I don't really know but there is a "general" market and official (I mean not a regional market in term of a besides app) it's just your country that is detected (build.prop), the only way to change this is... with root access...
No root=no way to modifie anything related to country detection by the Play Store.
If you don't want to root... Don't root! But don't complain about Market Enabler or a way to modifie the detection of the build.prop that the Play Store uses and block some apps for you, you need root!!!
EDIT: I ve you tried Appbrain (http://www.appbrain.com/) or AndroidPit (http://www.androidpit.com/) for example as an alternative? both have their own app... Maybe no restrictions
Thnx man i will root after jellybean

[Q] Unroot and unistall superuser after installing cyanogenemod

Hello,
I'm wondering if it's possible to still use (and update nightly versions) cyanogenemod 10 on my Samsung gallaxy s3 without superuser installed and after re-root ?
If yes, how can I do ? (Because superuser is installed with the rom not by google play...)
Why? Because I'm using an application, good for enterprise, that check if superuser is uninstalled ans if the phone is unroot (it's an application for get your profesionnals mails on tour personnal phone)
Thanks for your help
You probably can, seeing cyanogenmod once considered releasing without root some time ago. You'll have to get rid of superuser and the related binary yourself from every rom you update

[Q] I don't have SuperSU or Superuser etc.

I don't have any app like SuperSU and Superuser even though I am rooted. Is it the fact that my device came prerooted? Could anything odd/bad/weird happen without these apps, and how can I install them to /system/app?

It is possible for the ROM to have its own superuser control. You could either flash one or install one from the market and make it a system app (using Titanium Backup, etc.)

strange issue with rooting htc amaze

i am facing a different kind of rooting problem
i have just rooted my my htc amaze and i am using 4.2.2 jb rom with everything working
but i installed Titanium backup and it is not working for me
it is showing a message that your fone is not rooted
but i have unlocked bootloader, super cid , s-off my fone
then why it is not working for me
does any one help me regarding this issue
Do you see supersu or superuser in your app drawer?
Install Super user and then you will have root access
Use one of the toolkits such as hasoon's or the Windroid one to flash the root binaries.
Or just re-flash the ROM.

It's not uncommon to root and not get busybox installed, which TB needs to do it's magic. If you open TB and click on the, "Problems" button it will install it's own busybox so it can work.
If you've solved this please post back so others know not to continue posting possible solutions like I, and others did

What is SuperUser app?

Hi.
Bought an unlocked Samsung Galaxy S3 LTE (GT-i9305) but found out it has this SuperUSer app.
Does this mean the device is rooted? Will i have issues in installing it with the official Android 4.2.2 or 4.3 (if it comes) to the device?
Or can i install 4.2.2 or 4.3 with much ease? (As i am not famailiar with rooting a device)
Please advice. Thanks.
Yes it means your device is rooted and you have SUPERUSER control to your device...
And you can easily check out your root status with any of the app called Root checker..
Superuser is an app to control the permission for the apps that can change your system data..

In other words: you can do whatever you want to do with your device and there are no software limitations by (in your case) Samsung anymore.

The SuperUser program is also very helpful for managing the Root permissions of various applications. Some ROMs do not require a SuperUser program to accomplish this, while others do. Make sure to upgrade binaries (within the SuperUser app) before doing root-intensive activities (such as TitaniumBackup items).
