There is a basic function that I use on my iPhone or my Lumia is launching a phone call just by clicking on any phone number included in an email.
(all phone numbers appears as a link, you click on it, it launches the phone app, and the phone is ready to call with the pre-filled phone number)
I use this function many times a day.
With my Galaxy S3 (GT-9300i in Android 4.1.1 MIUI 3.4.19), the phone numbers in my emails are not recognized as a link, but as text. So i must select the phone number, do a copy, open the phone app and paste the phone number ... a little bit impractical.
have you got a solution ?
this function will be included in future MIUI releases ?

All works fine with MailDroid. All phone numbers are written as clickable links that launch the Phone App.

I have the current facebook app on my touch pro and works perfect....But when i go to my fb setting on my home computer and try to set it up to be able to get updates on my cell phone It asked for my carrier and send a text to a certain number........and wait for a code, i never get the reply text back
any help ?
Are you having trouble with the app on your phone? You may have to push the refresh button when you start up the app to update your wall.
The link that I found on FB appears to point your phone to download the app, which you already have.

the trouble im having is.....when your on FB, you can add your phone so when somebody reply's to your message or adds something to your wall, bla bla bla, You will get a text update on your phone....

but it doesn't matter what carrier you chose its still tells you to text message containing only the letter "f" (without quotes) to 32665 (FBOOK).
and i never get a reply from the text

I've got the samsung s3 4g version but I believe the normal S3 has the same issue. When I go into the call history it shows calls from everyone over the last 30 days or something which is good, but when you click on an individual number it only shows you the history for that specific day.
I used to have a S1 and on that if you clicked a number it would show you the history (calls/sms) for the entire history duration, so you could see you spoke to that person a 3 days and a week ago for e.g.
Is there anyway to get the S3 to do that... ? it seems silly if they took that feature out of the S3 ?
I was looking on google and someone said to get "mr number" I tried that, but that seemed to make it worse and not show me any history (just a list of all the ppl who i spoke to)
If anyone knows howto get the history/logging to do what I need that would be great.

I've got the same problem.
Before I9300 I had Touch HD where I used an Address Book app. There I could click on any number in call history and get the entire history of calls and sms from that contact or number.
But on SGS3 I can only get the history/logs of calls for the contacts that I've written to my contacts: logs(call hystory) - long tap on contact - open contact- menu soft button on the bottom left - journal.
But I've got a lot of calls that are not in my contacts and I don't want to save them and I need to see if that number allready called me.
How can I find it out?

After resetting and starting from scratch, I have loaded my contacts with my Gmail contacts.
Many of the contacts have multiple numbers : home, work, mobile
In the Phone app, using keypad I noticed, when your contact has more than one phone number, it does not show all its numbers, just the first one or the one marked as default.
I find this annoying.
I hope there is a person in this forum that uses the stock dialer....and can tell me if there is a way I can use keypad and be given a choice of all numbers that a contact has?

Now moving on to my question
I have two mob numbers viz 9969 n 9664.. I used to use 9664 but I stopped using that number sometime back... However that number is still used by me for WhatsApp(the simcard being used is 9969 though)
The telecom Co. Of the 9664 number is shutting down this month end.. So I am under dilemma whether to port that number out to a different service provider (and still not use it) so that It can be used to verify on WhatsApp (I got a re verification req last week, what if it happens after the number is shut down) or shall I change my number itself on WhatsApp.. Now here's what I want to know, if I change my number on whatsapp, will it clear all my conversations incl groups? If not then will the existing convos continue on the same chat heads or different one?
TLDR version : does changing number on WhatsApp erase chats?

A few yers ago I bought a new phone. Prior to that all my messages were on an old phone, that originally had a SIM card that I stopped using. But I continued using Viber on the phone, despite having a new phone number. I didn't change the phone number in Viber.
When I got the new phone, I launched Viber entered my new number. Then on old phone I switched phone number in Viber to new number.
Now, my order of operations here were catastrophic. I hadn't backed up my viber messages on old phone, so what happened was I lost all my old viber messages.
On the old phone in /data/data/com.viber.voip/databases I see the file viber_messages-journal. It is about 8MB. It has my old message data in some form, because when I viewed the file I saw old messages I was looking for. Some of the messages were in Russian, and oddly enough when I open the file now I can't view the Russian text. In any case, I believe this file holds the key to me being able to get my old messages into the message database.
Any ideas?
