Mods close these because of a couple of factors:-
1) Not everyone will have the same experience with a particular rom or kernel, so it's best if you try some for yourself to see what works well for you & how you like to set your phone up/use it.
2) There are enough of these threads around with answers from people before mods closed them that you can read.
3) Given how easy it is to flash roms/backup/restore with CWM, it takes no time to flash a rom & try it for a bit, and if you don't like it, restore a backup of your previous setup, and then try another rom & so on. So there's zero excuse for you not to try a bunch of roms for yourself other than laziness.

[Q] Whats the BEST ROM out so far!?

I haven't seen this question so if its floating around somewhere, my bad...but What is the BEST ROM out there right now for the Galaxy Note i717 in your opinion? I would prefer somebody answer this that has tested multiple ROMs on this device. I am currently on OnlyOne HYFR B4 but am thinking about switching it up. Even if I do NOT end up switching, I am still interested in your opinions on your ROM and why you feel it is the best! (best for you) Thank You All!

I like to know how everyone out there feels. So..with that being said...care to share what ROM you are on and why since you posted in my thread?

9-20120605-NIGHTLY-tenderloin and Battery Life

I've been running the June 5 nightly since Tuesday and I have to say that the battery life on this ROM has been fantastic. With mixed use since then, including live streaming of 2 hours of MLB at Bat video and wifi left on the whole period, I am charging up today for the first time since flashing it.

That is great! I've been having good battery life with it on the last few builds.

EDIT: (This post only made sense because of a mean spirited post above this one which has suddenly been deleted by the original poster [troll])
But you can get the sense of it and, perhaps, the other deleted post by the follow-up that was quoted in the next post below . . .
I apologize for any confusion. . . .
And the point you are making would be what?

I am sorry you are upset about this thread and I should not have responded the way I did but this is the General Section, a place where a multitude of topics are discussed, including some that are trivial or repetitive.
While this may not be the most original post, the number of views to date would make it seem that it is of interest to some of you out there.
Thanks everyone!
I thought this thread was interesting enough so it was the first one i opened.
Boo hiss to the complainers, i say.

Oh yes, and thanks to the OP
BTW, battery life is still holding up well. Considering moving onto the most current nightly, though . . . can't help myself.
i'm begging to worry battery life is not as good as it shoyld be and wonder if i should update to a more recent nightly... as it's been running fairly well apart from that hadn't wanted to change anything. i wonder if anyone has noticed whether any of the nightlies in particular has best battery life or whether to go for the most recent (i would have asked that in a new thread but cant be doing with all the anger starting a new thread seems to generate!
I am happy with the 6/9 nightly
I find that the CM9 Nightly sleeps at around 0.6%/hr where as the ClassicNerd Butta drains at a rate of about 3%/hr.

Performance vs GSIII

I think i posted before in the wrong section:
HI all, i recently purchased a ATT Note and love it. I have come back to droid after being on the iphone for a while. I fell in love with the screen. I almost sided with the Galaxy SIII due to the performance being so much better but the display model Note was not running ICS. So i got the note, brought it home and got it updated. Its a great phone, i love it. Especially for me being able to remote into my work computer and assist end users in troubleshooting. I am getting close to returning it though and getting the GSIII due to it being just so much faster. Is there a current ROM available that improves performance? There just seems to be so much lag when opening things up and when typing. The GSIII also has a nice screen but is noticeably smaller to me and that was a drawback but the performance is really better to me and things open instantly. Thanks for any input! I apologize for any repost i did a search and did not really see anything, Thanks for any help!

Was it just me, or is there really that much of a performance improvement? It seemed much much faster than the note...
What are all the roms in the development section for the Note? Maybe i am using the wrong terminology...
I am looking for something with great performance and the largest screen i can get right now, so i guess that would be the GSIII, huh?
try the ipad
Lol
The note performs fine but spec-wise the GS3 beats it one way or the other (whether you have the international version or a variant).
To me it sounds as though you updated your note OTA and that's just going to cause you problems.
There are plenty of fantastic ROMs for the note here - whether you want to dabble with GB, ICS or JB.
Start reading.
I suggest you begin with the everything note sticky.

Thanks for some actual help. My last droid was a capitvate. I had to go iPhone for corporate email and such. They are finally supporting touchdown so i am back on droids. I did the update via Kies. I have some basic info now from few people (and you now, so thanks) to get started but my basic question is answered and that is the performance ca be improved so i dont have to switch to the GSIII. Thanks so much!
Performance can be greatly improved. Try flapjaxx uclf6 or hotwires for ics as both provide overclocking. HAve had great success with DaGr8 gingerbread with oc.
I haven't personally tried any of the other dev's roms but have read about them and it doesn't seem like you could lose with any of them. it is just all a matter of what you prefer to have feature wise.

What type of performance increase are you looking for because from personal experience (my brothers GS3) my note was running flappjaxxx's uclf6 rom and my phone was much snappier and responsive ..and the apps we ran side by side..pretty much a toss up on any graphical difference...now if he roots and roms his phone it might be different ...but I gotta work on convincing him(he's terrified of bricking)...good luck hope that helps...

If you must leave the Note, I suggest the One X. The screen on the SIII is pitiful. And, to top it off, I just left the One X for the Note. I can't tell any reall speed difference. The One X is, however, the sleekest and best built of the new "regular phones". I've heard multitasking complaints with the One X, but I never had any issues. By the way, I haven't sold the One X. I'll still be playing with it, too.
I've read a few of these threads and I've owned both the SG3 and the Note and my brother has a OneX. The performance difference is negligible with the right oc kernel, of which there are several to choose from. And the rom support for the note is off the charts. In my opinion your note is just as good as any phone on the market right now.

**Battery life**, which ROM do you prefer?

Hey folks,
As everyone know most of the smart phones we have aren't really smart in terms of there battery life. From stock Roms to all of the customized roms passed by chiefs have there pros and cons, and this thread has no intention to bring on any comparison among them..
Share your experience about your battery life with the ROM you have installed on GS3, along with the kernel information and any other tweaks you guns have. Hope it would be very useful for those who always want there batteries to give a extra juice

Well done sir, good start.
Best ROM/kernel threads are pointless because best is completely subjective. Same goes for battery life, your usage and mine could be completely different, ergo, what's good for the goose is not necessarily good for the gander.

The post does not ask which ROM or Kernel is "better" because that is meaningless, but it is asking about user experiences with different ROMS and battery life.
I don't have time to try all the different ROMS out there, and this is why this is a forum no? Sharing experiences maybe?
Crdroid is my choice, totally worth trying
This is a developers forum. Not random talk and discussion, try to argue with people that follow the rules because they don't suit you, get mad when called out on not following the rules forum. If you read it objectively, you will see its a best kernel/ROM thread. He is asking for your combo of ROM and kernel with the battery life. That is a hidden way of asking what gives the best battery life. It will not work for every person the same. Its subjective to the user. There's nothing with a census of best. Some things work better for some and others it will be terrible. Get over it.

Asking what ROM is the best might be pointless but asking which ROM people PREFER is different.
Statistic work with the amount of answers. If one person say it prefer ROM "X", it might worth nothing. But if 10000 people say they prefer ROM "X", then it doesn't matter if people use their phone differently. ROM "X" is the most prefered ROM all around.
True that the battery life will differ from individuals because not everybody use the phone the same way but one person use his phone always the same way. I flash at least 3 ROMs a week so I can objectively compare the battery life of each ROM.
You might get different battery life depending on your use, but still you can tell which one give better battery life
Noobs are getting smarter. Disguising best rom threads as something like this.
But its the wrong type of smart XD

Although battery life depends on various factors. You can improve battery life by lowering sync and disable location services as much as possible.

I really don't see the problem. The last thread about "which is the best ROM" ended with someone proposing to make a comparison chart of the ROMs, and it was agreed(by the moderator) that it was a good idea. This thread is a comparison of the battery life between ROMs.

Yes it is a great guide:good:
Since few users gave their experience,I'll talk about mine: I've tried XPower on JellyBean 4.1 and with the Galaxyh(I think that would be the name) kernel
It gave me 48h and still had 7% battery left on the phone,so it would go till maybe 60h..
It was the one that gave me more battery life in all the Rom's I've tried so far
Right now I'm on Omega Aokp v4.2 and with the Syiah kernel 1.7rc3+
Since the installation of this Rom and kernel was yesterday,I can't give some good answer about the battery life on this, because once I'm a noob I've just figured out how to turn only dual core to save some battery late night..

A simple "not interested" would've sufficed. And its only looking like that because of a theme, which can be done with pretty much any other touchwhiz ROM as well. And in my opinion that looks pretty nasty. I like the look of "goodness" ROM and not over the top.
And the thing about all these different roms is to make them look different otherwise they're all built off of stock.

10-12 Note 2 ROMs are not enough? There are web sites that list them all.
Ridin' a Note 2 blast
I would try the rom. Looks interesting. Only thing in the change log that I didn't see mentioned, is if you can change the carrier text to whatever you wanted. Also if group messaging will work for Verizon without being individual messages. PITA when you cant respond in the same group conversation. I don't think there are enough quality roms for our Verizon N2. There is numerous roms for sprint and att.
Agree with you and your very thought out post. Plus hmmmm 72 internets?
