Hi!
I've updated my XPERIA P up to JB. The NFC module doesn't work properly. I can't transfer to another XPERIA P (ICS) photos, but can tranfer only contact from adress book or Youtube link. Also my phone have no reaction for XPERIA Smart tags which comes in package with phone.
I've founded more 3 guys with same problem after update to JB.
Does anybody know solution?
P.S. NFC worked properly only in Android 4.0.4 (6.1.1.B.1.54), in Android 4.0.4 (6.1.B.0.544) and in stock firmware (Android 2.3) NFC didn't work too.

Probably a kernel issue. Wait a few days and you'll see someone coming up with a better kernel which supports all these

This issue is observed both on stock kernel in JB and in Sliding XP Kernel v8.1.1. About other kernel I don't have information.
I dunno, I find it interesting but after flashing Nemsis Kernel on my Xperia P (on stock JB), the NFC works well now (at sending any files). perhaps you can try that ?

I heard about this kernel... Can you share with link? Maybe I'll try it
P.S. 2 guys have wrote that NFC works if SIM card is removed .... I've cheked it out. Yes... NFC works with Smart tags when the phone is without SIM, but I still can't transfer photos.
It seems there are many users who have issue in NFC modul:

I'm losing hope to find solution...
I just bought an xperia P LT22i yesterday and it could detect smart tags just fine. Then I updated to Android 4.1.2 (6.2.A.0.400) (don't know exactly what changed) and it completely ignored my tags. Would never detect them.
I tried to update that smart connect app andit didn't change anything.
Than I reseted my phone to factory settings. It didn't downgrade the system, but the smarttags app was gone and the smart connect app (wich has been downgraded) started to detect the tags 100% and treat them as "events". When I touch a tag it starts an event and if I touch the same tag again the event ends. And smarttag app is useless.
I know nothing about file transfers, never tried them.
I've got some news
I've did it, I've transferred files via NFC.
1. Reset setting to factory defaults.
2. The Smart Connect app updated from market.
3. Took the second Xperia P and tried to transferred files, but got fail. Then I noticed that bluetooth didn't start on the second Xperia P to provide recieving/transfering files. I switched on bluetooth and then NFC on the second Xperia P.
4. The phones must be placed relative to each other in spacial way. It seems that NFC in Jelly Beam has very low power of radiation.
5. File transfer has started
6. BUT the phone still can't find NFC Smart tags...
There is some advice to make NFC tag works with Xperia P JB (in Russian) http://vk.com/topic-35919535_28235141?offset=0
1. Run Smart Connect app
2. Enter into search new device menu
3. Start search and put the tag close to NFC module
4. Smart Connect app must detect the tag
5. Now your phone will recognize this tag and you can add some action into Smart Connect app.
For some users this instruction works fine, but not for me unfortunatly.... Maybe you'll be lucky!

I found a way NFC modules perfectly working on JB ROM.
Only flashing the Baseband of 6.1.1.B.1.75firmwares via Flashtool
6.2.А.1.100 firmware have resolved my issue with NFC. :good:

Hello,
here is a small patch to apply via CWM to enable ANT+ in ROMS that doesn't include the Radio Service.
As in Stock ROM, you have to enable ANT+ via Performance Assistant, that is also installed with this patch.
It works perfectly for me and now I can use my sensor with Runtastic and Xperia Ultimate HD ROM
Please always backup before any flashing, because I am not responsible for any damage your device
Just Press Thanks if you like it
Thanks works nicely

ANT+ in Android 4.2?
First of all, thanks for the patch, I've been using it on my Xperia Neo.
My problem is that I've upgraded to "[DEV][WIP][ROM][UNOFFICIAL] Android 4.2.2 CM10.1", ANT+ is not available in this ROM and the patch don't seem to work on Android 4.2.
Unfortunately I don't have the knowledge to fix it myself (I hope to learn some day...) so my question is: is there a way to get ANT+ working in Android 4.2?

Bump!
I made this ROM for my Xperia P device in this thread below
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1889581
Some users reported that it can also be installed on Sola and working fine. Not so surprising though as build.prop is modified not overwritten and most stuff I added are stuff from T/V so it's quite possible. I don't have devices on hand to test myself besides Xperia P so let me know what works and broken there so I can try fixing it to make it more generalized.
Very promising ROM
Appearantly it works on Xperia U and should also work on Sola/Go too for any 6.1.1.B.1.x stock ROM. Make sure you prepare root/busybox/init.d before flashing this ROM.

Hello Windows X,
Thanks for your job, I have tested Fidelity VX 7 and8 and it's great !
I just have one weird problem with the 8.0 version, I'm not able to connect to internet through 3G/3G+ unless I ask to the phone to search and download MMS and Internet configuration ( in setup ) each time I boot the phone.
Sorry for my poor english if you have trouble to understand.
It probably has something to do with partial working JB files. I hope next release will solve those problems.
Version 9.0 was released btw and v10 with Xperia Z files is in development.
Hello
I'm trying to use wifi tether on my SE Xperia Neo V with Suave kernel and Ultimate HD 3.0.2.
Once setup is done and hotspot activated, I can connect my laptop and tablet to the wifi but there's no internet connection.
I've tried various combination of kernel and custom ROM (all based on sony's ROM) but ended up with the same result.
However, it did work with Cyanogenmod back when I was using it.
So, I'm guessing it might be because of sony's ROM, could anyone confirm that ?
Is there a fix ?
Does anyone managed to make it work ? with what kernel and what ROM ?
Any help would be appreciated.
thx
Also, it works on Cyanogenmod Nightly 10...

Yes, as far as I remember. But I then changed for cyanogenmod, then to another provider that didn't support tethering.
I just noticed that now that I changed for another provider...
anyone ?!

Yes, you'll get your 10 posts...
OK, I've tested many ROMs and none of the Sony .587 based ROM worked (the roms are working but not the tethering). Not with wifi nor bluetooth.
I've tried many things and only cyanogenmod works on that departement.
It has to be system related because all the apps I've tried (barnacle and such) didn't work either and some even caused the phone to reboot.
Also barnacle says WIFI: could not set ad-hoc mode of wlan0: Device ore resource busy
anyone ?
OK, I've found a solution.
After many tests and research, it seems to be specific to SFR french carrier and android 4.X (no wonder it was working for nearly everybody but me...).
The thread with the answer is http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1544063
Now, it needs to be done once the hotspot is activated and it will keep working as long as you don't reboot your device.
Would there be a way to "integrate" that in the ROM to make it automatique somehow ?
Anyone ?
Ok, anyone knows how to make the iptables parameters permanent in android ?
Hi all
I'm trying to pairing a OBDII bluetooth device to my Sony Xperia Active.
The phone see the OBDII and ask the password but after inserted I receive the message "Unable to pair with [device name]. Incorrect PIN or password.
The password 1234 is correct and with a Samsung Galaxy Y everything is OK (I use Torque).
Bought phones are rooted and with JB custom Kernel and Rom.
I searched and I saw other people having the same issue.
Help and advises please.
Problem solved :victory:
I installed Legacy Xperia JB 4.3.1 (CM10.2) ad now the Bluetooth pairing is working and also Torque is perfect :good:
Also with the original rom/kernel there was the same problem. I tried 3-4 kernels and roms before solve with this fantastic Legacy Xperia Rom.
My Xperia Active (and me ) was never so happy!
Hello Forum,
So I've seen various different ports and apps for the newer Xperia range but cannot seem to find a solution for a Z2 running CM12.1 not CM12.
I've been reading through these but still cannot seem to find what's needed.

I used to have a Custom Stock ROM running on the Z2 before upgrading to CM12.1 how ever I set up the stock with the apps well over a year ago so cannot seem to remember how I had put the apps accross.
Now I'm running CM12.1 I'm not sure if I need to use the Apps from the Z3/Z5 etc as they're based on the newest OS.
I wanted to try get the sony album, network connect tools ,and sound/media apps.
I've tried restoring the Album app as a test with TitaniumB but no luck.
Anyone got any ideas ?

In Google you can find album apk that works on every device.
There's also walkman zip for cm devices.
The zip is called: Xperia_Z5_Premium_Walkman™_Port_v1.1_by_androidexpert35.zip
But I had no luck with camera apk.
Sent from Xperia Z2
Luckily not from an iPhone = Yesterdays technology at tomorrows prices
i use this way and everything's work fine, i'm only using the music, album, sound Z5, and video
