using Aroma file Manager, wont help, still cant find the sdcard only sdcard0, i think i will just have to format my sdcard, it does show that it has taken space from my previous files, but still cant find these files

what should we do? same problem here! i can't hear songs or see pictures who are not in folder 0! how the **** whe change sdcard0 to sdcard? its driving me crazy!!

Android 4.2.x uses a different partitioning of some sort because of the Multiuser feature. All of your previous internal sd card data is in /data/media
Use a File Explorer with Root permissions to access this directory.

You need to get rid of cwm. It doesnt handle this well. Try Philz based on cwm as you can toggle between locations

It looks like we're on different roms. You're on juice 1.x correct? In any case, I wasn't able to access the / directory.

That's BS man, I've been on AOSP roms for a while and I haven't had a single problem with it on either my Nexus 7 or Rezound across multiple roms. You're doing something wrong.
You may need to format the sdcard/partition that you're having problems with. I had a problem with TWRP not seeing my external sdcard and it turns out that it was actually a problem with it not being formatted correctly.

It would not let me back up to the / directory. It says /sdcard, I hit the back button and it says "press again to exit. " Any advice? BTW my sdcard is formated fine; it is recognized by both TWRP and root browser. Es file explorer just wouldn't let me access the / directory. What am I doing wrong?
you can't backup to / as that is the root (top level) directory that contains all the system stuff. You can only backup to /emmc (your internal memory) or /sdcard (your external sdcard). Apparently the newest build of TWRP is flaky with how the partitions are formatted. Also to access / in ES File Explorer you have to go into settings and then root settings and then enable the first three options.

P. S. I take back what I said!

Edit deleted everything! Still Can't delete sdcard0

So I was able to delete this before but I can't now and it's taking up hella space... I've tried searching to no avail so can anybody tell me how to delete the sdcard0 on my storage file???
So I guess it deleted everything all my pics and music and what not storage>sdcard0 still there... how/what do I do to set it back to normal before I start putting my pictures and music back???

sdcard0 is your mount point in the os for your internal storage it can not be removed, you can how ever format it in settings>storage. what rom are you using, are you talking about the 0 folder that sits in the sdcard area?
Yes I found that out the hard way HAHA I thought it was the one created when using an aosp or aokp ROM I'm running Viper DNA so just reformat it then? Just don't like that there are 2 files showing up with the same content in it one "SD card" and one in storage>SD card 0
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using Tapatalk 4 Beta
instead of going through storage at root just go to sdcard and it wont show it as odd if you going to tell a program to save a file though it needs to have the 0. its just how 4.1.1 mounts it, if you had 4.2 you would have a 0 folder inside sdcard once you went back like i now do but am to lazy to delete cause theirs probably something ill need later in it. how many apps do you have since they are saved in same partition as the sdcard on our phones since we don't have removable storage. that's probably why your running out of room.
Thanks I don't have many under 100 I use to have crazy amount haha huh well I guess I never noticed it said sdcard0 cool thanks for responding

Internal SD contents to data/media after Rom flash

I'm still getting used to only having an internal sd. I always learned to wipe system, cache and dalvik. So after doing this and test driving a new rom I notice that internal sd was reset to default android folders and all my files were gone but on my PC my storage was still showing 7GB full. I poked around in the top level folder area and found all my stuff to be in data/media. Now I'm spending all this time moving 7GB of data back to /sdcard. Anyone know why this is happening? Is it TWRP or is it because I have an internal storage or something else?
Are you switching between Android 4.1 and 4.2 roms? They have different file structures
If you flash a 4.2 Rom everything will be in the /0/ folder
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using xda app-developers app
I went from viper to slimbean. So that would be 4.1.1 to 4.2.2. So to answer your question yes I jumped versions but any idea why sd contents went to /data/media? I may try another test flash to see if it doesn't on a different recovery or different version of TWRP

Your sdcard contents have always been viewable in data/media.
Nothing has changed except some stuff is within a /0/ directory.

Maybe so, however as I stated before my /sdcard contents aka my internal storage everything viewable through any basic file explorer was not present which in turn means TWRP saw nothing in my /sdcard. There was only the stock android folders that were all empty after the flash (notifications, alarms, pictures, etc.) A normal wipe and flash has never produced these results. I know about the /0 folder issue but this was different since that issue creates a /0 within /sdcard. There wasn't a /0 folder in /sdcard so that issue doesn't apply to my scenario.

Getting rid of the "0" file

I'm trying to figure out where all my memory is going..... and i noticed and I have seen this before of the infamous "0" file that is inside of the sd memory. Two different things; is it accumulating memory, and how do I get rid of it?
It is an exact duplicate of the sd card.... and lots of times my recovery twrp 2.5.5 can't find downloads Bc it can't find "0"....and i have to move the files after downloading just so the recovery can find it.
I'm not near a pc so could I move the whole" 0" file to sd card somehow? Perhaps create a temp folder move it there and the delete sd files... Recreate sd card and then move all files from "0" back into sd card files and get rid of "0" all together.... Something like that..... Not having a pc on vacation
Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF300T using Tapatalk 2
The "0" folder is the primary internal sd card location on AOSP 4.2 roms, when you flash back to Touchwiz is becomes "0". The zip here will remove all of the files in that folder and put them back in the right spot for touchwiz roms http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1683644&d=1359382056
When I am on touchwiz I use the recovery zip above and then delete the 0 folder.

This is the two files or sd and sd0
Sent from my SCH-I605 using Tapatalk 2
Leave it. The 0 file is normal and is the way it's is supposed to be. Legacy, '0', sdcard, and sdcard0 are all pointing at the same file. Delete a file in one place and it will be gone in all those places.
As long as you only have one '0' location you don't have a problem. Mostly just use sdcard (as you would on any device) and everything will work as it should. In some cases when setting a path in an app the app will follow the /storage/emulated/0 path. Just treat '0' as if it was sdcard.
These multiple paths to the same file location are called symlinks. Here is an explanation about symlinks and what they are used for.

All this is because Google turned JB from a single user device to a multiple user device, each with their own acct/login.

If you have a backup made, your fine. If not, its lost.
Don't delete system folders unless you know what you're doing.

On a scale to one to ten? About a 8.
If you have rooted your phone, you can get an undelete app (like Fahrbot's Undelete for Root Users on the Market) and recover the folder... hopefully. There's a chance it won't catch the files or whatever. If you're not rooted, I don't think it would be possible to get them back, but I may be wrong (check Google, they may know).
In case you were wondering why this happened, I'll tell you. Android is based on Linux. Linux has these links to files/folders called symlinks. Now, for whatever reason it is, Android has multiply links to the sdcard (probably to help with compatibility). So while they may look like two different folders, they lead to the same place. Think of it as two doors to the same house.
Good luck!
If you are on a 4.2 ROM (One found in Original Development):
The SDcard0 and SDcard are all links to /Data/Media/0. Use a root browser to navigate here and see of your SD cards contents are here. I'm not sure if deleting a symlink will also delete its source, so you may still have the SDcard just not a way to access it without root permissions. If you can see your SD card in /data/media/0, PM me and I'll try to help you restore it. If you don't see anything here, or don't see your SD cards contents (before wipe), I'm sorry to say this but your pretty screwed.
