Anyone who has used an iPhone knows what the music player app is like; it always, ALWAYS keeps track of where you left off while listening to a track or a podcast, and always continues from where you left off even after a reboot.
Is there any 3rd party music player app for Android that can do that?? I have podcasts that are hours and hours long, and it's a pain when I listen to a part of it, leave the music player to do something else, come back and find out that I can't continue from where I left off.

My music will not play continuously. After each song It stops and goes back to the start of the song and waits there. Any else have this problem?

Do you have the gallery set to auto close?
im not having this problem, but i am having a simaler one. I started noticing to today, i was listening to a song and around 30 seconds it started playing another song. then i restarted it and it just stopped at the middle. happened to other songs as well. it gets really annoying. it has done it on 3 music players, including the default.
You need to make sure that the music player, gallery and purchased music are NOT on the auto-end list in the Task Manager.

Ok, so ever since i upgraded to GB a few weeks back ive been having some issues with my music player.
Before i could listen to music on long road trips for hours with no problems, even after screen lock. Now it seems that only after a few mins, the music player just shuts off!! Its also not even a set time, just whenever it likes, could be 2 mins, or 10 mins, but its very short.
Also it has no affect on if i just switched songs or not, even if the screen is on and not locked, it shuts off.
What is causing this?
i have had this. not consistently though. sometimes i have no problems.

It never happened to me using 'cubed music player'
do not have things like "gallery," "wallpaper picker," or any system items in the "auto-end" list, or for whatever reason (interconnectedness of things), your music will stop. I had this problem, and when I removed items from the auto-end, it worked fine.
I agree the music player is bad, but for reasons including that there is no "all songs" option for each artist (ie you have to name every album on Itunes or it goes in a common folder with tons of other artists, and have to do it in properties of the file, make genre, etc. all the exact same).
Dump stock music player and get DoubleTwist and TCM Music Tag Editor, AMAZING you'll never want to go back

Hey I'm having a problem. When I first got the phone, I could play music stop and leave it for a while and then continue from where I left it.
Now if I'm listening to an album, and stop it. When I hit play from the widget it starts from the begining which is driving me crazy, because I listen to audio books and I have to skip to the last track I was on.
Anyone know how to fix this?

I just signed up with Google All-Access music and I'm having a couple of problems listening to music on my Atrix: At the end of each song, the player doesnt move to the next song in the queue. Instead the player continues to count elapsed time on song #1 and then starts to play snippets of the first song: play a half second of music, skip to another part of the song, play a half second of music, skip, etc. (For example, I'm now at the 8 minute mark of a 4:21 song! )
I can click on the "next song" button and it moves on, but that's hardly satisfactory. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app with no change. Completely stock Atrix, with the stock music and Mixzing apps also installed. They work fine for music that is stored on my device.
Any suggestions?

I use pocketcasts to listen to podcasts and all was fine until about 2 weeks ago. If I listen to a podcast straight through without stopping, skipping ahead or skipping back it works fine. If i pause or skip I hear a twenty minute section of the the podcast over and over again and that will last the entire length of the podcast.
I tried a factory reset, different podcast apps, and I even downloaded podcast from desktop and transferred them to my phone and it still does the same thing even when I play it with the default music player or play music.
Any ideas how I can fix this?
