Is stock kernel, which doesn't let higher than 1.0 Ghz.
To OP: There aren't much ICS kernels yet, but I think I saw somewhere v2 kernel for some MiniCMSandwich ROM(I think) that allowed overclock.
I find it,thanks. This Kernel is here

XDA is the Best
I've installed CWM and a app to overclock, but the max clock that appears is 1024, what should i do to get biggers clocks?
Get a kernel which support higher frequencies.
p.s. you need unlocked bootloader to flash custom kernels..

Make sure which Android version you are using.
Gingerbread (2.3.4)? Ice Cream Sandwich (4.0.4)? Or even Jelly Bean (4.1)?
Then check this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1313445
This is a post about all the ROMs and Kernels available for your phone.
Read the first posts of the provided links carefully, there you will find OC specs.
I recommend Nightelf and Suave for ICS and Galaxian and Nightelf for Gingerbread. Just test them.
Good luck and have fun!
Hello, i'm not a developer, just wanna to ask something that maybe useful for xperia 2011 (maybe ). Sorry i posted here because xperia ray doesn't have a general section.
By the way, is it possible to port a kernel from other device that have same chip with xperia ray?
I saw at Galaxy W and S Plus forum that they currently build (or port?) kernel 3.x
Here is the development thread :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1855557
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1938811
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1742976
Galaxy W and S Plus have a same chip and spec like xperia 2011 series.
You can check it at here
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snapdragon_(system_on_chip)
it's MSM 8255 too. And i found that Huawei Honor also has a MSM8255 chip like xperia 2011 who have an official ICS with Kernel 3.x.
So, is it possible to port? If it's hard to build kernel 3.x from scratch, then why not we port it? As far as i know, galaxy s 1 also have build their own 3.x.
I'm sorry if this considered as a noob post, i'm just trying to help the devs about porting kernel 3.x from other device, maybe we can port it to our device.
ya seems like a nice idea, can any developers do this ??

It is possible, But porting the kernel is a very hard Job, Especially when you porting it from other vendor

Maybe it would be easier to port a Kernel from other Xperia Device - I heard a lot about NighElf kernel form Xperia NEO V.
Yes It is posible I'm working with Kamarush and adridu59 on a 3.0 and 3.4 kernel we have some problems but I needs time because we have to backport the clock and acpuclock and some other stuff what has changed from sony.

I've talked with multiple developers. Summarizing:
It is possible, but it would take several months, during which the number of users still using this phone maybe only half of that now. It's simply not worth to spend the time on. 2.x kernel with tweaks isn't much worse than 3.x kernel.
We working for the 2011 series but to get the Kernel to boot this is a long way...
Im trying to port 2.6.35 to know which code had to be changed sony said there are minimal changes when i lock at the drivers there are many changes
But i/we hope to get the kernel to boot soon

Hey , everybody.
Could somebody upload the Munjeni Kernel for Xperia U without OC. The version prior to the one present on the forums now.
Thank you.
And could someone tell me how to add hotplug governor to the kernel.
The problem with the present kernel is that set frequencies do not hold.

Actually the kernel can be modified, as Munjeni is compelled to release his kernel source code under GPL.
https://github.com/munjeni/android_kernel_xperiago/blob/ics/COPYING
Use this one

Misinterpretation
Folks, Dr Sanket, you got me wrong. He released another kernel for ICS B.10 without OC prior to this recent one with OC.
I had that but I deleted the file and flashed this new one. All I am asking is that somebody please upload that old version
so I can flash it.
And @brainkafka, sorry bro I cat use your wonderful kernel as I am on ICS B.10
Sorry I'll look for a ROM and find a way to flash FTF but it doesn't (different issue)
But please upload the previous version of Munjeni's ICS kernel, not a modded one.
I managed to find a lifeline to the problem of battery drain on CM9 FXP201 ..
-First I installed the custom kernel that the user "thebrainkafka" has posted LINK KERNEL--->http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1618508&d=1357379108
PS: I found the kernel in the section of "Xperia Sola" so I don't know if it is compatible with all 2012 Xperia
-Finally I installed the app "Smart Governors" that sets a governor and a scheduler. As Governor I selected PegasusQ v.003 and scheduler sio.
LINK APK---> http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1552439&d=1355162468
I noticed a significant improvement of battery life without sacrificing much performance without 3g arrival to cover thoroughly the day and a half
Leave some feedback if you try it!
I am not responsible for any damage
...do not forget to make a backup if something goes wrong!!
bye, IrRo94.
i used that kernel too... he posted a link on page 102 or 101 in the FXP thread for Xperia P... but now DeepUnknown has released a new kernel for CM9 and i personally find that to be better. and oh... he uses Sony's latest source too
