Hello all,
I got a Galaxy SIII and since I constantly get errors that say "Download failed. Wi-Fi Disconnected. When Wi-Fi Reconnects, Download will restart"
I must say, Auto update is dispabled and I have updated the last firmware via Samsung Kies.
Anything? anyone have any idea?

Is there any way to see which application does that? Clicking on the error message does nothing, and even after stopping all running apps and just about any service the error doesn't go away.
Try download manager in system apps or anything related to downloads

I have disabled the download manager. But the message is still there.
This is so very annoying.
Post lacks details .
Is this something you are downloading or a failed OTA update that has started to download ???

To my knowledge it happened after I tried OTA update. I had a message stating that there are no updates. Afterwards, the error starter.
I have already made an update with Samsung Kies to the latest update. Yet, this still happen.

What I'm interested in with this update is whether or not removing or renaming the bloatware apps (especially Bing) will cause trouble with applying this and future updates.
i tried the OTA (Over The Air) method and its not picking up any update i wonder if people who have rooted there phone can get this update.
I tried checking, but the updater app is telling me the server is unavailable.

yes now im getting the same message
Will clockwork block this?
Remember, one of the known issues on the Fascinate is that you can't check for OTA updates using WiFi, so make sure your WiFi is off when you force check for updates. =)
I have both a rooted and a stock fascinate so when it's available I will know for sure if being rooted affects getting otas.

Yeah same here.
I want to get rid of that damned lost signal tone.
Yep updated failed with CW installed. The update app tells me there is an update but fails to install. I may flash back later and try it again.
failed with stock kernel, re-installed stock recovery to test that and now my update went away..
guess I'll have to wait until it comes back to test.
Where the heck does it download it to? I can't find it in cache, where the updates usually download to.
I had 4 updates in android market so I decided to hit the update all button. So all 4 apps started downloading, but for some reason they stayed saying download and now they will not update. They are still in my notifications bar saying ongoing... they will not clear. I cleared the data in the android market, I uninstalled the latest market update, I rebooted the phone and I took out the battery and the downloads remain in my notifications and the apps are not updated.
Any help would be appreciated.
Did you try updating to the latest android market?

This happened yesterday to me as well. The thing is market kind of crashed and after I click the update again crashed again and the queue added again (duplicating the files to be updated), and again... every time I did this the queue add the files.

This cannot be done in the usual way because the download goes to the queue.
I turned off, take out the battery, uninstall all the market updates, clear the cache, but no result at all.
EDIT>>> Also this happens automatically after the wifi starts (I don't have data plan and I manually turn on the wifi)

Can you give more instructions? I don't follow. Sorry. BTW. my phone is not rooted.
I did some more reseach on this and is not solved but I hope I got more info to share.
Today I went to pc companion (Is this SEUS?) and restarted my phone from there. At the end I got firmware 2.0.A.0.504
I just went to wifi to install mybackup and try to restore my phone but again, was useless.
I chat with SE in USA and the agent was puzzled as we are and his recommendation was to take the phone to SE service.
Then I wen to manage applications and started to review all of them and found that "download manager" (Version 7) is the one is keeping the download forever. I guess this is the culprit of all. When I "clear data" the notification disappear.
That's all for now.
BTW: more research show this is happening to all brnads, so this a google issue. Wen there and I found they know about it. Please add your report here:

I'm up to 46 applications (trying to download) and it stays in the notifications bar and it's killing my battery life.
What is suggested on the google support page does nothing. I don't know what else to do. It's very annoying, I can't wait for the GB update for Rogers so I can get rid of this.

my mom had the same thing going on, it seems that there's a problem with the market, apps won't download on older versions, i had to flash a custom cyanogenmod on her phone and problems disappeared

Just connect your phone with Kies and the update will automatically appear on Kies.
But before updating your phone keep backup of all your data just in case.

You can upgrade using any firmware as long as its for your variant. ie. Don't flash a i9100G variant firmware on your i9100 international/ M/P/T and vice versa.
If kies isn't running, that's a good thing as it interferes with Odin. you'd need your phone drivers first though.
Try here for GB drivers for i9100

I have a Razr XT910 (Rogers, Canada) running stock ICS 4.0.4 which I rooted using this method:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1710871
After rooting, I deleted some system apps (Rogers bloatware etc). Today, I got a notification of Jelly Bean update. After downloading, when I chose to install it, my phone restarted and at about one third of the process, restarted again and came back to ICS. And then a popup came up saying "Update failed!".
I read that this is because I touched the system folder. So I unrooted it using SuperSU app present. And then did a factory reset erasing everything from the phone. All those crap apps are back now. But when I check for system updates, it says "Your device is up to date". How do I update my phone to stock JB ?
Thanks for your help!
Wait for some time. You might get a notification again.
If in hurry..Go for manual update.

I'm not in a hurry. But it got me worried when the update failed. Full unroot and factory reset is sufficient for resolving the update fail problem ?

When the update installation stopped, the phone rebooted back in ICS. At that time it gave an error "Update failed". That's all.

This is a repost from the 4.4 discussion thread, I decided it would be more appropriate to ask here.
I still can't update. I've tried 4 times now (each time I have to re-download the update, it's super annoying). Each time I've tried, it fails at 27% and it just says error. After the reboot, it will say can't install update, please update using a computer (kies) or go to the nearest samsung center.
I really don't want to have to factory reset. I've tried clearing cache and making it as factory settings as possible, but still nothing. I'm completely stock, not rooted with official device status... What the hell samsung? Also, I downloaded the latest kies and it says my firmware is up to date, so that's not gonna work.
Any advice? Thanks!

Assuming you are attempting to d/l the update via WiFi, correct?
Something else to try is clearing data for (I believe) Google Framework and re-attempting the update. This worked on my son's S3.

Actually, I did at one point I was rooted, but I unrooted and factory reset. My device says official, but it's probably not good enough for an ota update to pass. I plan on flashing mj4 later using Odin and factory resetting to get completely stock.
Sent from my SM-N900P using xda app-developers app
That would be wise. Simply unrooting by itself doesn't take you to bone stock IF the reason you rooted in the first place was to, say, debloat or otherwise hack some functionality onto this bad boy.
