[Q] Bluetooth settings keep resetting to media & phone - AT&T HTC One (M7)

Hi there,
I like to stream music through my headphone jack to my car when I'm driving, but still use my bluetooth headset. So I've setup the bluetooth settings to disable media through bluetooth but to allow phone. Problem is, every time my bluetooth reconnects to my phone, it resets those settings and it starts streaming music through my headset...
Is anyone else having these issues? Is there a solution?
Thanks

I've noticed the exact same behavior; would it be considered a bug? If so, does HTC have an avenue to receive bug reports?
On other Android phones I have/had, when you disable a particular Bluetooth profile for a device, it seems to remember that upon reconnection.

Get "Bluetooth auto connect " on play store. By Jacob Klos. GREAT APP!!! Used 2+years. Sets profiles and more. Also has tasker plugin and frequent updates. Free app
Hope this helps. Hit thanks if you wish. Cheers

[Q] Bluetooth Media Audio defaults to On

I want to use the bluetooth phone connection in my VW Golf, but not the media audio connection. I untick the Media Audio option under Bluetooth settings -> long press VWPHONE, but it always defaults back to being ticked the next time it connects. This is annoying because the phone routes the sat nav directions (CoPilot and Google Nav) over the Bluetooth audio connection, and sometimes auto starts the last media file on the phone.
Is there a way to force the phone not to default back to being ticked? Or turn off Bluetooth Audio for all connections (I never use this feature)?

I have a VW golf too with bluetooth on my phone and I am using it for playing song and answers my phone. But not for navigation...
I'am not sure of what your question is... Can you clarify?

My issue is that the sat nav verbal instructions are routed over the bluetooth media audio connection. As I'm not using that function on the car stereo it means I don't hear them. If I turn off media audio in bluetooth settings the nav instructions are routed to the phone speaker and so I hear them, and calls are routed to the car stereo. Problem is next time I get into the car the bluetooth media audio defaults to on, so I have to turn it off everytime I get in the car. I'd prefer it to remember the setting, or just turn off bluetooth media audio completely as I don't use it.
Sounds like you have the same issue that I have with a 2010 Seat Ibiza FR. I've noticed that the kit effectively pairs twice with my Atrix, first as a headset then as a media capable device. This approach means that the phone bluetooth setting will never be retained.
I've raised the issue with Seat UK who frankly aren't interested, and have yet to find any way of blocking the 2nd connection from the phone side.
I'd be very interested in any resolution / workaround you can find; this drives me nuts too...

[Q] stop music from automatically starting on bluetooth connection

Does anyone know how to stop my music from automatically starting when i connect my phone via bluetooth to my car stereo? it's incredibly annoying. i just want my phone to connect to my car and i will start playing music if and when i feel like it. it's so annoying that it starts up every single time i get in my car and turn the bluetooth on....... thanks!
Remove the "media" link or "bluetooth headset" link in your bluetooth settings on your phone or your car:

Install an app specifically for this:
One was mentioned in comment 49 of the first bug report link above.
There's also one called Headset Blocker.
I'm sure there are many others as well.
Use a profile/event app like Tasker: http://androidforums.com/motorola-droid/146722-using-tasker-fix-headset-music-autostart-issue.html.
Disable event using the Autostarts app.
Some media apps have the ability to disable autoplay on bluetooth built in.

[Q] Bluetooth Autoconnect Issues

I see there are a lot of posts about this for the Galaxy S III but not the DNA.
Coming from the Bionic I have been very happy with the DNA in all areas except the Bluetooth! For whatever reason after pairing my car (2012 Impreza) or headset all subsequent Bluetooth connections must be done manually. I tried the Bluetooth auto connect app and its hit or miss. For the time being I am using Widetoid and created a shortcut to Bluetooth settings in the notification bar.
I tried about everything I could find that was attempted for the S3 with no luck.
Has anyone else encountered this or have any ideas on how to fix.
Thanks
No one here?

I just got a Bluetooth audio adapter for my car to play music and it pairs automatically once the Bluetooth receiver gets power, at least it has so far, ive only used it a few times now, but it looks like its automatic for me.
I can report a similar problem. My 2011 Mitsubishi has a built in multimedia/nav system which always paired perfectly with my Thunderbolt for calls and music. The DNA connects automatically for phone calls, but not for music. When I'm in my car, I can go into bluetooth settings see that it is connected and "phone audio" and "media audio" are both checked, but media audio does not work (my car reports 'no connection'). In order to get media audio to work I have to un-check and then re-check "media audio" while it is connected to the car. I assumed this was a bug in my car's system, but maybe not...

Bluetooth Settings

Well, since search is "temporarily unavailable" (again) on XDA, I am posting a new thread.
The little quirk I am running into is in the BT settings. When connecting to a BT headset, it allows you profiles to choose. I don't want to have media audio through my Plantronics headset so I uncheck that option in profiles. However, it doesn't stick and resets itself after a while to include the media audio. Sometimes it does it after a reboot, but other times it just does it.
Has anyone else ran into this?

Bluetooth call & media audio seem to conflict, call always work, media not so much

Bluetooth call & media audio seem to conflict, call always work, media not so much
Hello,
I'm on the Z5 Compact (6.0.1) and using the Jabra Stealth as my headset. Automatically both Call and Media Audio are always turned on, but sometimes, only the Call Audio works. And for it to work, I need to disable the Call Audio. But this means that next time I'll connect the device, only Media Audio will be turned on, rendering my BT device useless next time I get a call.
Now, I think I found a work around with Bluetooth Auto Connect, which appears to reset the profile to Call + Media at each connection. But I still need to disable Call Audio everytime Media doesn't work.
So, questions:
What the **** is this all about? No thread seem to be able to answer that question.
Would Tasker be able to do the following: If device connects outside of incoming call, activate Media Audio Only, if else activate Call + Media?
Would there be any other app that could solve my problem?
I personally despise Tasker, I found much simpler solutions with MacroDroid. But Tasker does have potential.
I looked around and found that this problem was recurrent amongst users, despite of brand or version.
