Is there a way to remove all AT&T bloatware and convert the phone to the international version of Optimus G?
Root and unlock. But why do you want to transform to international?

I'm in India and I have no use for all the AT&T stuff in the phone
I don't recommend the above link.. It might **** up few things as all LGOG are not same. just root it and using Titanium backup or other apps like that either freeze the apps or uninstall. My preference would be to freeze as when a new update comes you can unfreeze. As our system partition is large.. You don't have to worry about freezing bloat.
Debloated Custom AT&T - [AT&T] - NEW RELEASE V2 - feb.13.2013.....copied and pasted from the link I posted, ran it myself for quite awhile with no issues. This is exactly what was requested, international ROM for E970.

So I have been looking all over the forums for the answer to this question but have not been able to find it. My Optimus G is rooted and has the boot loader unlocked via Free Gee. Still running the stock ROM with LG Skin. Question is if and when the 4.1 update releases will I be able to update or will I have to lock the boot loader again? Appreciate any help a lot of helpful info out here.

Don't accept any otas once you are rooted and unlocked. There will be a pretty good chance that the ota will have a fix that will break the root and/or unlock.
Actually, you can freeze "com.lge.lgfota.permission" and "com.lge.omadm.client" in ti bu. That will prevent the ota notification.
Sent from my LG-E970 using xda app-developers app
Okay I thought that would be the case, just wanted to double check before that came out. So do you think that it would be all good to install if I just locked the boot loader back or would I need to completely unroot my device as well?

Pretty sure the ota would just unroot and lock your phone unless you are on a custom ROM.
Sent from my LG-E970 using Tapatalk 2
That's what I was thinking too because my last Android phone before this one was the Galaxy S2 Epic 4G Touch and every time I installed an ota it would remove root.

You can't accept an ota because of custom recovery and the unlocked bootloader; otas will fail to apply and you'll be suck rebooting into recovery until we fix your misc.

[Q] How will we know when it is released?
Other than keeping an eye on the media, how will we know when it is being released for our phone?
Is there a preferred site that we should be monitoring?
Will LG release it before AT&T tries to send it OTA? If so would it not have all the bloat that AT&T likes to add?
That's enough questions for now.
Thanks for answering...

That is what I have been doing, just checking the Internets and going that I see that article that says "Hey U.S. Optimus G users its finally here"!
I just wish LG would get the ball rolling on this soon, but hopefully releasing it in Korea is a sign that it is coming...

Yes you can move apps to the SD card.
You will, but the app data will remain in the internal memory.
If it's anything like other phones I've had on t mobile, they will delay this update 2-3 months.

At least it is coming. I don't care that much of the official JB 4.1.2 ROM it self, but the unlocked bootloader means everything.

Seems it is removed from server. Not too much difference to us, since we can't download it anyway. The important thing is that it exists, and chances are we will get it someday.

I think the delay for the t769 jb is due to Tmobile adding more bloatware to it.

We always know how to remove those bloatware. It's the casual users that suffer from bloatware (they don't care that much, but on the other hand, they are the majority of people, that's why Tmobile benefits from doing that).
Without rooting my phone, is it possible to remove or freeze Carrier IQ on the AT&T version of the G2 using ADB shell (or some other method)?
Other than this one, buggy as all crap, service, I love stock and have no reason to root.
Thanks

I ve read this article in this link http://www.phonearena.com/news/LG-t...te-many-of-its-devices-to-Android-4.4_id51571
It seems many LG devices get direct kitkat update, but not l9, if l9 is not compatible for android 4.4, why can't atleast get 4.3? Do anyone have clear ideas about this?
Sent from my LG-P765 using xda app-developers app
Android does not officially support TI OMAP CPUs as of 4.4 and if I'm not mistaken the L9 uses one so were out of luck. You could always try your hand at unlocking your bootloader and flashing a custom 4.4 or even 4.3 build
Sent from my LG-P769 using xda app-developers app
Honestly there is nothing that LG or T-Mobile could put out that can touch any of the custom roms available for this phone anyways. There are a couple Unofficial CM 11 roms availible and I have not had a problem with it.
I thought atleast we would get a 4.3 update, anyway we I will try custom ROMs
Sent from my LG-P765 using xda app-developers app
But the list mentions L9 II will get 4.4 update, how is our L9 similar to it's successor? Is it possible to port the update from the L9 II to L9?

I's not that the device isn't KitKat compatible, I also have an ARMv6 Optimus One, old and slow, but it fully supports running KitKat. LG Simply doesn't want to support the L9 anymore.
As I've previously stated, not here, and others have also stated, this is my LAST LG device. My money. My blood and sweat made the money, so I should be able to do with it what I want. Plain and simple.
Agreed!!! I dont think I'll ever buy another lg device again... It's my phone and I bought it out right, I should be able to do what I want to do.
Currently I'm thinking of getting a T-Mobile google nexus 5 hopefully in a couple weeks. Which I found out was made in collaboration with lg. Lol. At least the bootloader is unlockable. I guess I might look at some other devices then too.
well think of the cpu not getting anymore updates by its company which isnt lg i mean if you guys want kitkat and are on a budget get the lg optimus l90 its a really good phone that i recently got that i upgraded to

Yeah, I was also thinking about getting the Nexus 5 but since LG makes it, I'll probably give the Xperia or HTC One a shot. They are expensive so I guess it's wishful thinking....lol.

I'm new to Verizon the G3 is my first phone with this carrier. Why does Verizon remove the stock browsers?
I'm having trouble with Chrome's latest update causing rendering problems on Web pages with animated GIFS on them. I went to go look for the LG browser and to my surprise there was none. Did a search and found this thread...
Just weird.
