Will jelly beans come to RAZR?

Just saw on Engadget that Asus, htc and samsung announced jelly beans update schedule.
Where is Moto update schedule?
Another report says jelly beans is almost ready for s3.. And is being developed for s2.. Moto.. Where is jelly beans? Ours it being planned?
This RAZR is definitely going to be my last Moto phone. Even s2 is getting jelly beans..

Do not speak before Moto says something, maybe we will get it in time, it seems to be a minor update from ics
Is this the start of another is update thread where the little whiners get voice their opinions?

I'm not sure that is true. The jb update for the s2 is still a rumour and the aosp rom building is quite a pain in the ass for what I've heard.
I juat traded my S2 for a Razr Maxx today because I think it is more likely for the moto to get a fully working jb rom due to the Omap processor against the exynos in the s2.

The first rule of Moto updates is to not speak of moto updates...
lol people haven't received the ICS update yet...:silly:
I think they should finish the rollout and debug ICS first.

Motorola will do anything not to update their phones. They have the worst programmers and developers ever

Don't worry ... if Moto doens't move in that direction it'll be very easy to port cm10 ... as far as I've seen. I'm already "Jellybeing" in my Acer Iconia a500 with an alpha port from cm10, and EVERYTHING works... I think they'll have it working full in less than a month. Only some bugs and stuff but camera, wifi, bt, gps, all is working and it's very very smooth..
I don't think it'll be so difficult to port cm10 to the Razr... it seems that the drivers and stuff haven't changed from ICS.
Or maybe I'm wrong. I'm not a developer... but everything points as it's not a big deal from ICS to JB... just some minor changes and "project butter" stuff, that doesn't seem to be that difficult to integrate (maybe it's only changes in the core of Android to make things different internally but doesn't affect compatibility)
Cheers
Just read somewhere: 2063.
Not sure what month though..
heheheh...im with u bro...no official word yet, maybe never...who knows...

I agree !!!!
Kick A$$ phone is right!!!!
Now let all hope and pray that the delay in ICS is that the phone will actual upgrade directly to JB.
OK OK I did say hope and pray...
I have been keeping stock, but at this rate I might just need to load a CM10..
we should all sit outside verizon and moto offices with bags of jellybeans throwing them at the suits as the go in and out for work.
Id rather stay on 4.0.4 where i am than basically be a beta tester for JB.

Are you talking GSM? Stuff for cdma has been out.
Currently, devs are compiling CM10/AOKP(JB) jelly beans by using libs we got with the ics updates. Since JB is mostly system/framework changes, we don't need a new radio/kernel to get it working. There are dev/experimental jb builds being posted and updated by devs in the Dev Section. You can find out what features are working and more info on how to flash there.

Pure hate train speculation. Even if true, moto said we would get $100 towards new upgrade if not updated to jb, which seems fair.

my upgrade in in june 2014 do you really think that $100 rebate will still be available then? I think not. I am on my second razr and i had orginally got a tbolt, then a warrenty tbolt, then a warrenty replacement to rezound, then vzw switched me to a razr, and that razr has screen blotches so they are sending another razr.... Do you think they will send me a razr hd or s3 at some point?
They have to first try and get you something similar first, so RAZR HD is probably what you would wind up getting possibly.

i dont think moto will release JB for razr:silly:
Looking how moto handled ICS release, especially for GSM, i don't think we will see JB release. Well, at least now we have kexec and CM thanks to dhacker and team. I'm using their CM10 (non-kexec) and pretty happy with it.
I second that

This.
I'm using the CM10 from September 22nd and it's working nearly perfectly.
Only problems I see are the signal indicator, which appears almost empty (even though the signal works fine) and the animation when you change from portrait to landscape, a glitch that only lasts for a second.
It's my daily rom now, blazing fast.
no webtop for cmf10 roms, right?
In the first quarter of 2013 it will come out as insurance against Obama recession if he gets elected and the market tanks Google will need spin. Stock price wise I think it was up to it all time record today . they don't really have to make anybody happy

[Q] Why. Just Why.

How is it that a phone with lesser specs than the droid x2 has more android development than the droid x2? Sure its an older phone, But the ONE V has Jellybean Roms and thats a lesser phone. Can someone explain this to me? Because I find it redundant that we don't update this phone at all. I mean come on Gingerbread is so 2 years ago. Wheres ICS or JB roms for us devoted DX2/MX2 users?
1) The One V ships with ICS. Jellybean isn't too far of a stretch from there
2) it has an unlockable bootloader. We do not.
4) we DO have ICS and JB roms. I'm running jellybean on my DX2 right now.

Think about those for a minute. I emphasized we for a reason.
Don't come in here begging for something that people have already HANDED TO YOU FOR FREE.

We have ICS and Jelly Bean ROMs. The problem is our bootloader is locked. So we cant fully take advantage of the phone or the ROMs unless its a Gingerbread ROM. You cant come in here and start a rant that this phone hasnt been updated (because it has, unofficially). If you are going to rant, rant to Motorola. They are the ones keeping us from having a fully working ICS or Jelly Bean ROM. Not the devs here.
Flash the rom(s) and play! That's the fun of the game!

[Q] Should I buy Razr Maxx with GB?

I have a Razr XT910,it´s rooted,with custom rom etc...
I plan to sell it and buy Razr Maxx, found one new for 350€
Now,that Maxx will probably come with GB 2.3.6 and I want another one's opinion:
Should I stay with GB or upgrade to ICS and after that to try custom roms?
I bought my current XT910 also with GB and use it like that around 15 days, then I went to Germany to work and there I upgrade it over the OTA to ICS.
As far as I remember,GB was ok,without lags, good battery time...
If I upgrade it,what do I get and what I lose
Here I saw a lot of people who are quite knowledgeable about these things,I hope that somebody will help me to decide
Thank´s in advance :good:
By the way,I´m from Serbia and I don´t know when the official JB will come here, maybe half of the year, maybe never
If u buy
Better stick with GB
Better battery, less lags

Gingerbread is horrible on Razr Maxx. So is ICS for that matter.
Just update it to ICS and await the European release of JB.
I get six days usage from my Maxx with ICS.

Been away from the Razr Sceene for 6 months

Hello
I have been away from the Android Motorola Razr Sceene for 6 months. I sold my Razr and bought myself a Windows Phone. But now im back, end of story.
What is happening?
Im located in Norway and have the GSM version of the Razr, is Jelly Bean out for me yet? Is it worth the upgrade?
Before i left
I used the EPRJ_EasyRootICS_MultiOS_v1.5 to Root my ICS Razr.
I used Safestrap-ICS-3.05
And I switched between Simplex OS and Eclipse OS, super debloated with my own recipe
I used BW_CM9_GSM-PATCH-dtrail to use these CDMA roms.
And now im sitting here with a brand new Motorola Razr Maxx and do not know what to do?
Is it worth the upgrade if I where happy about these rom's and all the themes and customizing I could do?
Should I upgrade to Jelly Bean or stay with my old recipe?
I was very very happy about battery and quickness of these rom's I used, but I need some input if someone could be so helpfull
edit: also wondering if I can root my phone with the Jelly Bean rom installed.
Thank You
I've been using AOKP R7 with the updated kernel pack V1.2 and have found that kexeced rom to be extremely smooth. GPS, bluetooth, camera, camera flash, video and wifi work. Wifi tethering worked with R6 but for some reason doesn't work for me on R7. I'm trying to track the problem down.

If i were you I'd stay on ics for now, the only reason being is a number if people who have upgraded to jb lost root. At this point in time there is NO root method for xt910 jb en.eu
Only a matter of time until a exploit is found but until then it may not be worth the risk?
Sent from my XT910 using xda app-developers app
I'm using SS3.11 to run the AOKP rom. My stock rom is the official Optus Motorola ICS one. That has been rooted. The new AOKP 4.2.2 based rom is also rooted.
Sent from my GSM XT910 running AOKP V7 using Xda Premium
Thnx!
Thanks for fast answer guys, after Googleing and reading trough forums both here and others I have decided to stay with my old recipe. It was working flawless with not big bugs and fast as no other!
Im not into the whole experiment on everything again, so I will just wait for Jelly Bean to be more mature
Thank you again.
