Help me in this please! Urgent - HTC EVO 3D

Just downloaded new ROM named CarbonRom for my htc evo 3D GSM version.
here is the link - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2271325
I dont know how to flash it. Nothing mentioned there about how to flash it.
On other ROMs it is mentioned which which baseband(radio) to flash before flasing the ROM but in this nothing is mentioned.
I downloaded the ROM and gapps,
Should i start away flash the ROM i need to flash any baseband first.
Right now i am on Mwakious ROM - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1648407
can anybody help me.

Assuming you're s-off and with a custom recovery
Reboot in recovery, do a backup, do a factory reset, flash the rom then flash gapps
Reboot and enjoy

[Q] flash image question

hey everyone. so my question is about the flash image gui. if I flash a kernel through it and reboot recovery, am I able to wipe the rom using superwipe right then and there? or do I have to reboot recovery again to make the kernel stick so superwipe doesn't touch it before flashing the rom. pretty sure that's clear. but if not let me know. thanks for everyone who looks and helps!
When using flash image GUI to flash a kernel. You don't need to go into recovery at all afterwards. Should be good. When installing a ROM with a custom kernel flash superwipe script then flash ROM in recovery boot phone then flash kernel VIA image GUI. Then test your wifi, 4g, data, calling etc.
sent from America...F__k Yeah!
Actually you had it right the first time. You flash the kernel first, reboot into recovery, wipe then flash the rom. Wiping won't touch the kernel you just flashed.

You should change this post as you could cause problems for people. If someone is changing from sense rom to an AOSP rom, or vise versa, you definitely want to flash kernel first with flash image gui.

Because of s-on I don't think that the superwipe script can affect the boot partition of the phone so your good with what you say OP.

Oh! Thats weird because thats how I have been doing it. Everything works for me. I been on just about all ROMS out there...from ICS to sense 3.5 and now the lastest firmware running imbredded ROM. Only once I had a problem with a kernel when I updated to latest OTA using my method above. I then used flash image gui to flash the stock kernel (boot.img) and everything worked fine after.
thanks everyone for answering! I was pretty sure the superwipe wasnt able to erase the kernel being 1.5, just wanted to have some clarification

[Q] Help for AOSP Roms to flash

I have a Problem to flash any AOSP ROM on my EVO 3D (GSM). The Leedroid ROM works good, but when i flash AOSP based ROMs like E3DLight or CM9, the phone doesn't boot. It hangs on the splash screen.
Try clearing data before flashing.
I did a factory reset, data wipe and dalvik cache wipe.... but still it hangs on splash screen. I have flashed Virtuous Quattro Sense, but it doesn't work too.

If you are s-on first flash boot.img via fastboot or "flash image gui" and then flash new rom.
try flashing a super wipe script. i think you can find it in the virus thread linked to the first post. After flashing the zip your recovery should reboot then flash the room as per usual.
Another problem may be the kernel, are you s-off? Because aosp ROM require an aosp kernel and if you dont have s-off you need to flash the kernel in a different way.

Hey, I'm getting similar results with s-on unlocked.
Using 4ext recovery control, flash the v11 rom (superwipe), goes into bootloader, installs, warns about boot change, reboots.
From then on it loops the HTC splash, black screen with the buttons backlight, reboot.
Flashing the boot.img using fastboot doesn't make a difference.
Any ideas?

You may need to go S-OFF as well.
Otherwise, try a different ROM.
If you want to stay S-ON, I can recommend the KingCobra V1.2 or V1.5 ICS ROM.
Both are stable. V1.2 still has beats support, V1.5 is a newer version.
However, V1.6 won't work since you're S-ON.
Good Luck!

Read carefully my previous post,
Flash the v11 base ROM with SMARTFLASH ON!
let it reboot
Boot back to recovery
Flash v11.1 update with SMARTFLASH OFF!
wipe cache and dalvik
Reboot
Reboot into recovery
Flash v11.2 update with SMARTFLASH OFF!
reboot
Done
REMEMBER THAT SMARTFLASH MUST BE OFF FOR THE UPDATES
I ran into the same problem and this method fixed it

However, download version 1.2 or 1.5.
1.6 will NOT work if you are S-ON.
If you want Beats audio, download version 1.2.
If you want the latest S-ON version, download 1.5.
This ROM is very stable and I've been using it for a long time!

Another possible fix
Download mwakious rom v7 base
Once downloaded get the boot. Img from the folder
After using previous steps to get up to v11.2
Use the fastboot flash boot boot.img command (cant remember if this is the exact command just check to make sure) to flash the boot from v7.
This is the last method i can think of hopefully u can get this rom running or you could just stick with whichever other one you chose

You're definitely using a TWRP recovery made for JB hboot? @GtrCraft, did you put the right boot.img inside the zip?
Also, you can try flashing a custom JB kernel of your choice.
@dansou901 I believe so, flashing this (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2344254) work like a charm (except for the rom that hasn't got any wifi, ...)
How can i check to be sure?

For booting that ROM a CM kernel is needed. As you have installed one (if it works like you said), you need to install a JB Sense kernel (just pick one from Original Android Development section). Then reinstall SuperSense and you should be fine.
I'll give that a go and let you know
@dansou901 , i've used this boot.img (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2337389) because i've already been able to flash that rom as well.
but now i can't seem to get rid of my previous custom rom. i've done a factory reset, i wiped everything there is to wipe, i've flashed the above boot.img and supersense but it's still another custom rom on my device :s

That's a CM kernel as well. I told you to use a Sense kernel. Use this one for example: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2483489
and your recovery should work again as expected. Btw, which recovery did you install? Please give the link.
this is the twrp recovery.img http: // teamw . in / project / twrp2 / 140 (yeah, can't post outside links yet)

That one's made for ICS, if I recall correctly... Don't use it. Use this one instead: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2099513 But be sure to use a JB version.
After changing my recovery, finally i was able to flash the custom rom. I used the boot.img you gave me, but is that going to affect some of the features in the rom?
And i would like to thank you allready

No, it's not. You can however choose the kernel yourself as I said... But keep in mind that it has to be a JB Sense kernel (just read the OP of the kernel thread carefully, then you'll know). For recoveries, keep this in mind.

The boot.img in the SuperSENSE-dx5 zip is stock, every JB Sense kernel should work though

Evo LTE Flashing stock rom/kernel

I have a soft bricked Evo LTE I was trying to s-off the phone but usb debugging is a prerequisite and the phone doesn't boot to system, only hboot In the meanwhile I'd like to restore stock rom and then have the choice whether or not i wanna s-off the phone Really I just need to restore it to stock rom The kernel, a zip file, can't be flashed through recovery and there's no way to flash it through fastboot either I think What I need is a nandroid back since twrp is installed and working so if someone could give me a back I could restore through twrp rather than having to flash Please help! Thanks
You can flash the kernel via fastboot. No need to worry about USB debugging. Hit the top link in my sig and scroll down to the section on S-on kernel flashing. Otherwise, I suggest installing a ROM like MeanBean if you're on the old partition layout, as it has a kernel installer to aid with flashing while S-on.
