I would recommend booting into recovery mode by pressing the volume up + home + power buttons at the same time. Then once in recovery select the wipe cache option, then the reboot system option. Your device should now start normally if wiping the cache doesn't fix the problem you can select the factory reset option and then reboot your device.

Thank you for your reply.
I have another issue. I cannot get into recovery mode. This is because I submitted my phone to samsung service center. They just formatted the phone and said the motherboard has to be replaced. I don't trust these people because they are thugs.
Now I guess my phone doesn't have any OS. Please help me with it.

Do you have the actual physical device with you currently (Has it been returned to you from the service center)? If you do have the device does it power on at all? If it does power on can you access download mode?

Hey..
Yes I got my phone back from service center and I have it with me. But it doesn't power on at all. I was able to turn it on before giving it to service center, but I believe those people have formatted it. What can be done next?

If the device doesn't turn on at all (No download mode, no recovery mode, no vibration when powering on) then unfortunately you will need to return the phone under warranty and get a new working phone. I would recommend explaining your situation with your device when making the insurance claim.

So when you get into download mode, you cant use the volume buttons to select reebot or continue?
If I go into download mode it freezes on 'downloading' screen. If I go into recovery, it freezes on 'ARM9' screen. After going into recovery mode and taking out the battery the phone now works except I still can't go inot recovery/download mode. Should I flash it or something?

Hmm... thats kinda weird. download mode is usually a last resort fix, so i think that being stuck on "downloading" might be normal. As for recovery, i really am not sure sorry. You could always try to do a factory reset though and see if that clears it up

Factory reset will not work..... U have to install stock from odin... Otherwiae samsung service centre.... They will not know that u have a rooted cell. Or have a custom rom inside it!

Should I and how to flash it back to normal? I havn't tried factory reset. I don't want this sent back AGAIN, last time I was rather retarded and installed wrong CRM on it.
UPDATE: Holding menu and power brings me to recovery mode, not power+menu+vol up..I'm confused.

Um...power+menu stopped working, now vol up+menu+power starts recovery mode... what?! Anyway, I installed root for 2.3.5. I think everything is working again to some degree Thanks for the help everyone. Crisis averted.

I downloaded and installed LiquidSmooth 2.6.5 on 06/15/13 wiped everything necessary, went to reboot and it said i wasnt rooted would i like to install SuperSU, i installed it and it rebooted to a black screen and wont go any further. all it does is vibrate every couple of seconds. Is there ANYTHING i can do to get back into TWRP recovery? stock recovery? flash the stock image with Odin? it wont boot into TWRP, or download mode.
Please help, might have bricked my hard earned Verizon S4
Hi,
I've recently just installed the TeamWin Recovery Project.
my Verizon Samsung Galaxy S4 has been rooted, and I even checked with some application on the Google Play market, and it has indicated that it indeed was rooted.
But I still kept on getting the annoying "some application need attention blah blah blah..." in the notification bar, and when I click it it gave me options reboot now or reboot later.
Of course I clicked "reboot now" and after a while, I messed up on my cyananogen mod I guess and I recovered using TWRP through a back up that I have already made prior to flashing the CM 10.1. And it was working normally.
Then I some how went to the TWRP again and it said that my phone wasn't rooted any longer! So I swiped the "root the device now" knob thing and ever since then it has been stuck in the "samsung" screen with the unlocked labeled as "custom" underneath.
Even if I try to do Volume Up + Power + Home button it doesn't send me back to the TWRP screen, rather I see the indication that TWRP has been initiated, but it just crashes and turns my phone off.
When I do Volume down + Power + Home button I can get to the Download mode, but it doesn't seem like my computer can recognize the device.
After the Download page and I push the Volume Up button for the actual download mode on the top left it says
Odin Mode
Product name: SCH-I545
Current Binary: Samsung Official
System Status: Custom
CSB-OEM_Config-LSB: 0x30
Write Protection: Enable"

And when I do get to this point my computer does recognize the phone and I know this by hearing the usb connection sound that a computer makes.
How do I get my phone back to factory state so that I can maybe once again trying rooting it again?
Thanks in advance.
and I apologize for so much information even if the rules say that I should be brief as possible, but it felt like the details were needed. (correct me if I'm wrong).

I can't get into the download/odin screen. When I press power + home + volume down it just vibrates.
I don't understand how I could have hard-bricked the phone just by formatting.
Just before rebooting, CWM prompted me "saying root access might be lost" and I hit ignore.

I have the same issue after flashing Liquid-JB-v2.5-OFFICIAL-d2vzw yesterday 6/19/13. Wiped everything, factory reset, hit reboot, it said my device appeared not to be rooted and asked if i would like to install SuperSU. I said yes to install it. When my device rebooted, I got a black screen and my phone won't go any further. It just vibrates, every 2 or 3 seconds. I can get it into download mode. I tried to flash the stock firmware back onto it but when it reboots after, it goes back to black screen and vibrate. Thanks.

Hello, i need some help with the problems i'm experiencing with my phone.
I'll go through all the steps I've done:
-suddenly the connectivity in my phone stopped working (no phone signal, wifi, bluetooth etc etc), this came up together with other issues: the power button of my phone rebooted the rom when held instead of giving me the choice to reboot or turn it off.
-i tried at first to get in the recovery with the 3 button "combo" with no luck since my power button apparently is still not working properly, if i keep holding the 3 buttons nothing happens until i release the power one; at which point the phone turns on.
-i got into recovery with the adb commands, flashed a new rom, no fix what so ever to the problems i was experiencing.
- i got inside the recovery again with adb installed a new rom this time performing a full wipe (system, sd card)
-once the flashing finished and i tried to reboot i got an error message e: cache could not be found, something like that, can't recall the exact text.
So at the moment i'm stuck in recovery mode, i pushed with adb a new rom, but after flashing it and trying to reboot i keep going straight into the recovery mode.
I tried flashing the original rom with Odin but i can't get into download mode, the power button is still not working properly and when i give through abd the command "adb reboot download" the phone reboots into the recovery instead of the download.
I'm completely stuck, tried everything i could think of yesterday, i would really appreciate your help.
Thanks in advance.
try using usb jig to get into download mod, search google how make usb jig.also u have root permission use ktool this is easy manually download & install
Ktool is an app, how i'm i supposed to make it work?
Thanks for your reply.
Until you fix the hardware issues you won't be able to flash, was the phone dropped or water damaged?

It dropped a few days ago, but i had no issues after it.
It all happened suddenly yesterday, no water damage or drop whatsoever.
The hardware issue is what worries me the most, i don't understand how holding the power button now equals to a reboot even when i'm trying to turn it on for the first time, starting from a phone that's turn off.

Ktool can get into ur phone download mod directly .there 3 option buttons.install&try.
If u have some knowledge about mobile phone repair u can fix ur power botton fault yourself or goto repair center.u can't never fix hardware failures, using software or flashing roms

Hello all,
I was using my phone, checking emails and making phone calls just fine. Then I got home and went to the computer to do some work. I noticed that my phone was showing the Galaxy S3 logo. I though weird. So I removed the battery, put it back in but still the same thing. I though maybe it was broken so I though a factory reset would be a good idea. BUT, I can't go to Recovery. When I try to go to Download mode, it opens up the interface where it says "Volume up" to go to Download mode or "Volume Down" to reboot your phone. Even when I press the Volume Up button, the phone restarts. So basically, my phone has gone full retarded and I can't do anything, no Recovery or no Download mode.
Anyone knows anything?

Yes, It doesn't work. I even tried holding Vol Up + Home + Power buttons for 10 minutes hoping the phone would go to Recovery. It doesn't even want to go to Download. It shows the Download menu but when I click the Volume Up button, it simply reboots the phone. And it was working fine before it happened.

I thought it might not work but was worth a try...It sounds like either corrupt partitions or emmc chip corrupt/damage but all the solutions I know of need you to at least get into download mode and if adb is not working as well then the only thing I can suggest is service repair.
This is the situation I would hope not to find myself in maybe somebody else as some suggestions but sorry it's not looking good.

This honestly sucks. I have been using my Galaxy S3 for two years without any problems. It was my main device for everything. Maybe because I have used it for 2 years without rest for work has caused a chip failure.
also i found many TWRP recovery for the same SoC (https://unofficialtwrp.com/download-twrp-3-3-1-mediatek-mt6765/ (Mediatek Helio P35 (MT6765))), will it work if I flash it with it?

what do you mean that your phone is stuck at recovery mode? if not you can enable the developers option this is the steps
1.) Go to setting
2.) Go to About phone
3.) tap the build number 7 times
4.) now quit the setting then open it again
5.) scroll down then choose the developers option
thats how you open developers option
basically when I reboot turn off> it will "never" boot into normal mode. My phone is so broken that pressing power button only still boot into recovery mode, wipe data and reboot still into recovery mode.

your phone seems to be new which means that your volume keys are still new and good so thats not our problem here your phone didin't boot right? did you do something to your system phone like flashing or something? because if you do there is a big chance that you screw up something in your phone resulting it to be like that. now your phone can still be charge right there might be still a hope we just need to reflash your whole firmware ( if the problem is really a firmware) you said before you cant boot right then there must be a problem in the booting process, i tested this on my phone before i clean wipe my whole phone and that include system partition so when i tried to boot my phone it wont and when i charge it no logo would appear just like yours so im guessing that you phone partition is gone and like you said to its bricked now. if thats the case we need to flash the whole firmware

Thanks for reply>to avoid confusion no I did not do anything/flashing/even enable usb debugging to my OPPO A15S. I am total newbie that I flash Samsung J7 once only. The Oppo A15S yes it is 1-2 years only, volume key clicking works fine but after system update via setting>Official Oppo coloros things. My phone kinda messed up volume key not working<google results say because a lot of phone cannot boot up because of volume key. So should I pry open my phone to see the volume key? Or just wait until 1 day scheduled power up happens?
Logs:
Wednesday 5am my phone auto boot up in recovery mode.I press restart and the screen black nothing happens.
Thursday 5am no boot up
Friday no boot up too.
So I assume it is my phone power is low and somehow my auto scheduled power on force my phone to boot up? and that time system auto update causes my phone die in midway?

hmm i see you didnt do anything in your phone but you did say that you updated it right? while updating you phone did something happen? like rebooting? if so there might be a chance that it became corrupted because of ,that while in the case of your power button what kind of problem does it have? does it work correctly? or you cant click it like its stuck or something? or maybe the button is working correctly and your phone just doesnt boot up? if the button is really problem like google stated ----->
Why is my OPPO always in Recovery mode?
One of the most common causes is that one of the buttons used to access android system recovery is defective or malfunctioning. Now, you should first check if the physical buttons are responding properly, especially the volume buttons, before trying to get rid of the Android Recovery Mode.
you should probably check you physical button because that might be a problem and i just remembered i have the same problem in my sisters phone vivo y53 its always stuck in recovery mode and we are confused why did it happen so we bring it to our technician friend and let him fix it and he really fix it he he told me that if something happen like this again check all the buttons correctly. Now there is really problem in you button and you cant just pry in you phone you might break something you should let the professional do it like technician after you fix your button try to boot up again and if its still black screen or recovery then the problem is in the phone system and you can comeback here so we can help you fix it.
