Hi all,
I recently Rooted my S2, and so far everything's been working fine. However, I went to record a video today and noticed that the video screen was blank. As I exit the application the video displays for a split second before closing. Video playback also doesn't work.
I currently have Siyah V:3.2b8 installed on my I9100XXLQ6, 4.0.4 device. I'm having a tough time trying to locate the correct Kernel to install. I previously used Odin but have since read that I can update using CWM?
I'd greatly appreciate your help and advice on how to fix the camera issue,
Thanks and all the best,
John.

Thanks for the replies.
I can do it either via CWM or Odin... I've just downloaded the .Tar file, so whatever will work best.
Appreciate it, thanks again.

Hello,
I have Omega v19.1 ROM right now and it feels like my phone is slow and tired. Will removing the ROM or go back to normal like it was when I bought it make it faster/clean it?
If so, is there a guide here on how I can do that?
Thanks in advance!

What do u mean by 'removing the ROM' and 'going back to normal'?
Do you want to return to stock? Or to ur previous ROM? Or do u want to remove bloatware??

Its really easy.
Just search for 'Stock Firmwares' and u will find many threads on XDA. Or u can visit sammobile.com.and choose an appropriate firmware. Then download it.
Flashing is a bit more advanced. I suggest you read about Odin and flashing stock roms.

Going back to stock should make your phone a lot worse/slower.
Thats how you root and stick on a custom kernel at the very least.....to remove crap that you couldnt do normally.
Like theunderling said, stock firmwares do contain bloatwares. Since ur on Omega v19, why not update to Omega v21 (preferably after a full wipe)? Maybe that would speed up ur phone...

Ohh.. ok..
Flashing via Odin can fail due to a number of reasons, which is why I always suggest Mobile Odin for flashing and stock recovery for rooting.

Hi everyone,
I am trying to root my I9100P, but I can't find the insecure kernel for XXLPP firmware. Can someone point in the right direction to find this insecure kernel. I have found the insecure kernel for the XXLPQ model, but I am not sure if this is the same kernel. I have put below all the details from my phone.
PDA:I9100PXXLPP
Baseband Version: I9100PBULP3
Kernel Version: 3.0.15-I9100PXXLPP-CL674609 [email protected]
Build Number: IML74K.XXLPP
Android: 4.0.3
Thanks in advance for any help
Check this thread:

If you're only interested in rooting and not flashing custom roms, there is a Universal Root method.

Try flashing siyah first..
If that doesnt work, you will have to flash a stock rom.

To unroot it, u would have to flash the stock firmware again. You sure you want to do that?

Flash Philz XXLPP kernel for I9100P in CWM recovery (not via Odin). This is a stock kernel and hence your buttons should function again.
Please wipe cache, dalvik cache and Fix Permissions after u flash this. And remember, the first will takes a long time!

My I9100 is not recognised by odin when i connect my phone in Download mode.
I was using official spanish jelly bean rom on my phone but wanted to return to stock rom, first i did a factory reset and cache wipe then tried to connect to odin in download mode but it won't turn yellow.
I did a search and tried
-Closing all kies apps
-restart-remove battery of the phone and laptop
-re-install drivers for windows
-Try on a different pc
-Try on different usb ports
What can be the problem ?
