My I9100 is not recognised by odin when i connect my phone in Download mode.
I was using official spanish jelly bean rom on my phone but wanted to return to stock rom, first i did a factory reset and cache wipe then tried to connect to odin in download mode but it won't turn yellow.
I did a search and tried
-Closing all kies apps
-restart-remove battery of the phone and laptop
-re-install drivers for windows
-Try on a different pc
-Try on different usb ports
What can be the problem ?
Which version of Odin are u using?
Have u tried other odin versions?

I have odin 3, i think 1.85 is the version number.
I will try other versions yet this version was working just fine a couple of weeks ago.
Also try disabling any antivirus or firewall too.

Come to think of it, u can also use Mobile Odin instead of Odin. Less fussy and more safer!

Heimdall is an alternative to Odin.
You can root ur phone using ur stock recovery also (provided u have an external SD card). That way u can flash via Mobile Odin.

U don't necessarily need an insecure kernel to root now. Try this method:

If you prefer getting an insecure kernel, here is Chainfire's thread:

Read it in detail and choose your kernel.

Thank you..
It could be because of all the flashing u did previously.
I dont know if it will solve your problem, but maybe u can try flashing a wipe script that will remove all unwanted files and prepare your phone for a new ROM...

On second thought, don't try that. That would require you to root and install CWM.
Have you tried doing a factory reset before and after flashing via Odin?

Hey guys a friend of mine wanted to upgrade his phone via kies but he forgot his phone was rooted is there anyway he can fix it
On his phone he can access download mods
Some members have reported having issues upgrading via Kies while rooted.
So u have 2 options:
1. Re-flash current ROM via Odin to unroot, then update via Kies.
2. Directly flash the update via Odin (you save one step).

See here:

Also, if ur interested, there is a mobile version of Odin that is easier and much safer (but requires root). Search for 'Mobile Odin' on XDA.

Try using a different cable and different port. Disable antivirus. And kill any running kies processes..

Hi all,
I recently Rooted my S2, and so far everything's been working fine. However, I went to record a video today and noticed that the video screen was blank. As I exit the application the video displays for a split second before closing. Video playback also doesn't work.
I currently have Siyah V:3.2b8 installed on my I9100XXLQ6, 4.0.4 device. I'm having a tough time trying to locate the correct Kernel to install. I previously used Odin but have since read that I can update using CWM?
I'd greatly appreciate your help and advice on how to fix the camera issue,
Thanks and all the best,
John.

Hello,
Firstly, sorry for my poor English.
I've broken my s2 entire screen (shows nothing) and i am planning to repair it. I still have a warranty on this phone, but i am afraid, that that guy, who will be repairing my phone will see, that i have custom binary count:2. My question is: can i reset that counter without USB jig?
Best Regards,
Eduard.
Depends on what firmware u have.
There is an app called Triangle Away that can reset the counter on ICS & JB. But it requires root, and you would need a working screen to use it.
