since kies doenst support firmware updates to this phone
im currently using version 2.3.6 and i just want an update to 4.1.2 and change it to international version
PDA: XWKK5 PHONE: XWKI3 CSC: XEUKH2
Baseband I9100XXKI3
Kernel: 2.6.35.7-I9100XWKK5-CL754841
this phone was given to me without any box or any manual, just the unit itself and a charger
so i dont have any idea what its model..

[Q] Un root and return to factory spec

Hi all
Sorry for the noob question I have searched but nothing gives me quite the correct answer.
I have a Galaxy s2 GT-I9100 that i have messed about with over the last year, a mate of mine is going to buy it but would like it Stock, fully back to factory spec so he can use Kies to check for software updates and the like. I have flashed the polish 4.0.3 ics rom and all is good but when I connect to kies it says .
Your devices current firmware version is not supported to update firmware via kies
PDA:LPQ / PHONE:LPQ / CSC:LPQ(XEU)
I followed the guide on galaxys2root when I original did it using this kernel CF-Root-SGS2_XX_XEO_LPQ-v5.3-CWM5
The info from the phone is
Model
GT-I9100
Android version
4.0.3
Baseband version
I9100xxlpq
Kernel version
3.0.15-I9100xxlpq-cl223505 [email protected]#3
Build Number
IML74k.xxlpq.
I am downloading the UK/ireland XEU 4.0.4 rom at the moment if I flash this will it work or is there a stock kernel I have to load for this to work.
Many thanks for any help you can offer.

You have to flash to the stock rom, then it'll be unrooted like you just got it out of the box.

[Q] UK, Unbranded, Unlocked Galaxy S2 - what Standard Rom should I use?

Hi there, hope this is not a duplicate, but I cannot seem to find an answer to my question:
I have a 2 year old Galaxy S2 from new, purchased from Expansys.com from the United Kingdom:
Being slightly impatient I rooted and installed the following via Odin:
Android Version:
4.1.2
Baseband Version:
I9100XXLS8
Kernel Version:
3.0.31-889555
[email protected] #3
SMP PREEMPT Thu Jan 31 14:48:54
KST 2013
Build Number:
JZO54K.19100XWLSD
The battery life is appalling, and most times I restart the battery % drops down anywhere between 5 and 35 as if by magic.
This happens even after factory resetting, wiping SD card, clearing cache - so basically nothing on the phone and it is wiped.
No email accounts, apps, nothing.
I am beginning to believe that the ROM I used (although official looking) may not be bug-free, perhaps a pre-release?
Can anyone tell me what ROM codes/numbers I should be looking for on a Stock Galaxy S2, Unbranded, Unlocked, in the U.K. and with Jelly Bean?
Thanks!
Adrian.
Search for firmwares for you region on sammobile.com

Hi fella....I would be looking elsewhere than the ROM......
You say your phone is two years old?....original battery?...
2 years of use for a rechargeable battery is pretty good going....I'd suggest it *might* be a sign that the battery is beginning to fail......
If you can definitively rule that out, I'd recommend going to play store to download an app that monitors which apps (if any) might be using up your battery.....also look for an app that can tell you whether you have any "wakelocks" on your phone.....if all of that changes nothing, then consider changing ROMs/firmwares..... (easy options first)

Yep, I have tried to search for the official, unbranded, unlocked UK Jelly Bean ROM on Sammobile and nothing comes up - they are all branded/locked.
I have also installed better battery stats/GSAM monitor and CPU spy and the culprits are Kernel (Android OS) and Android Core apps.
This leads me to believe the ROM I posted above is at fault.
On ICS the same battery gave me 5 hours more usage.
So I ask again:
Is there an official unbranded, unlcoked UK Glaxy S2 ROM which is not a development or leaked ROM?
Adrian.

This has been covered many times my friend.
Steps:
1. Go to sammobile.com and find the latest firmware meant for your device and region.
2. Download the firmware and extract it.
3. Download Odin (any version would do) and make sure your USB drivers are installed.
4. Put your phone into Download mode and flash the firmware via Odin.

...or chack out my Guide in my signature if you are a newbie to flashing :highfive:
flash rom via odin
You're the 3rd person to suggest that in this thread. Congratulations. You win a prize.

Thank you but as I have said that my phone's PDA is:- I9100ZSKI3
and on sammobile when I search firmware for Pakistan (where I live) the latest firmware is Android 4.1.2 which has PDA: I9100XWLSD so How can I change the firmware as the PDA is different of the phone and latest firmware?
I'm sorry I don't know about these things, tell me what should I do? a help would greatly be appreciated
Just flash that latest firmware you found on Samfirmware. What you currently have on the phone is irrelevant. Might want to read the guides/tutorials stickied near the top of the General section before you do; I feel a busted phone coming on.
:good:
You have flash 4.1.2 Stock Rom via Odin. Then you can flash CWM 6.x.x and up any custom rom as you want.
