Yesterday, i used my nook (rooted, stock rom 1.4.3) normally. When updated an app on market, i couldn't open it because of force close error. After that, i tried to open play store but it said "no connection" although wifi was ok. Then i tried to reset to stock rom and rooted again, but the icon "market" didn't appear on desktop (i tried 2 times with the same result. I added google account but it appeared this notification "Can't establish a reliable data connection to the server. This could be a temporary problem or your SIM card may not be provisioned for data services. If it continues, call Customer Care." And now my nook can't install non-market apps although it was rooted
So what should i do now to solve this issue

I picked up two G-Tabs on Woot, and I have the stock ROM loaded on both of them. One is working fine ("Good One"), the other has some kind of connection problem ("Bad One").
On the Bad One, it connects to my wifi and the internet browser works fine. However, whenever I run an app that requires an internet connection, I get an error. For example, I installed Yahoo messenger on both tablets. On the Good One, I can log in just fine. But on the Bad One, when I try to log in, it tells me, "Sign in failed. - Failed to retrieve data from the server." When I try to log in to the stock Kindle app, I get the error, "Please check your Wi-Fi or Mobile Network connection and try again."
Again, my wifi is working just fine generally -- it shows me connected, and I can browse the web. I just can't run these apps without getting some variety of a connection error.
I am running the stock ROM. I have rebooted, and I also ran the recovery procedure (turn off, then turn on while pressing the + volume button), and it didn't help. Any suggestions?
Viewsonic G Tablet Connection Issues
Had the same issue. I also ran the recovery procedure, but I went ahead and restored the device to factory setting (yes, I had to wipe it clean). Once it rebooted, I loaded the problem apps (Pandora, Kindle, etc.) and they worked with no issues. Good luck.
I have a rooted galaxy s3 i747. Originally with AT&T but unlocked and switched to T-mobile.
Two months ago google play store/any google app stopped working. I couldn't sign into anything. Factory reset it, Still didn't sign in. I recently tried to fix it buy going into etc/hosts and adding the "#" in front of the I.P address. That worked, :good: I could sign into my google accounts.
But now Google play store wont connect. I know for sure my wi-fi is working. Browsing internet works perfectly without errors. It just keeps saying connection timed out, Retry.
I already checked my time/region. Its on automatic, everything correct.
I deleted the hosts file.. nothing. cleared cache, forced stopped, rebooted again and again. disable/enable.
I didn't save a copy of the hosts file though... Not sure if that's a problem or not. I don't know how to go about making another one.
I'm not the brightest when it comes to things like this.
please help.
So, I have an unrooted i9100 with 4.1.2 Android version.
Before last night, everything was working fine on my mobile. The thing was I wanted to download youtube videos on phone directly and I installed an app for it. When I tried downloading via it, it stopped around 50%. I tried resuming the download and even restarting it but somehow (and I think each one of us, has seen it some time or the other), a download was stuck in notification bar with no progress. When it kept happening for a long time, I went to its App Info (download manager) and i think I forced stop and disabled it as well (don't remember what I did first. But I had to do the other since, the download thing didn't disappear from notification bar after the first move). After that, I noticed that my play store kept giving that "no connection - retry" thing and dolphin browser "web page unavailable, is your connection dry". But my wifi was working properly since I could easily connect to my laptop and work on it. The more ridiculous fact was that WhatsApp worked.
So, I kept looking for the solution online and there didn't appear to be anything similar to my problem. I did stumble upon a Cyanogenmod website and just found some words like never disable download manager because if you do, you might have to root again or something similar to that. When I saw that, I thought I would have to factory rest. So, I did backup of my data and reset it. The thing is the problem still exists. Frustrating thing is that for one, I can't surf internet on browser, nor download my apps I had previously (especially the paid license ones which don't exist in apk) and update them.
So, I don't really know what can be done in this situation. Do I have to root my phone? I don't really want to, because my past experience with them had not been good while installing new custom roms. But is it unavoidable at this stage?
Edit: I also remembered that I tried using mobile data to open play store. My connection was too slow to open the page, but the "no connection" was not being displayed in the home page so it might have been trying to load.
My friend came to me today with his completely stock oneplus x acting weird. when he would press the applications icon on his home screen it would bring up applications and then display all open apps...
So i decided to reset his phone, not knowing that I needed to do it from within android and not from recovery.
Now his phone is stuck at the google verification screen, and he did not even know he had a google account, so has no chance of figuring out his password (we tried his most common ones). We don't even know his old google email address, but we know his phone number so we tried to recover access, to no avail.
I have tried to bypass this with things I found on google such as:
-inserting a usb via otg cable (file manager does not pop up)
-getting to settings via keyboard settings
-getting to settings via privacy policy after disconnecting wifi during connection verification
Does anybody have any ideas? I really don't want to owe my friend a phone just because I was trying to help him

It seems that shutting it off for 40 seconds mattered too.
Hello.
The smarphone screen often hangs when I open an incoming message from WhatsApp. The problem repeats over 1.5 years on the different smartphones. I changed the sim and SD cards, reflashed the smartphone, changed the Google Account and many other things I tried. This problem did not appear (as I understand) only when Google services installed into the phone where services were not originally installed (e.g. Meizu, Xiaomi) or if WhatsApp is not installed from thePlay market and is not upgreding.
