Maybe some of you recognised this problem too, but after I used the search button I didn't find anything.
So after I upgraded my ST27i from ICS to JB, I'm experiencing heavy lags when someone calls me. Usually when I try answer the call, I have to wait about 8-10 sec to actually answer that call and to start talking.
I've tried it on stock JB, and custom JB too but both of them have the same issue. On ICS everything is working fine without bugs.
Anyone got some solution for it?
Best Regards,
+1 same here. Sometimes when dialling, too.

You rooted? Try adding this at the end of your build.prop see if it makes a difference.

Hi. Any solutions for this problem? Have been facing the same thing for months...
Delete call history
I think the only way to fix this is to download apps from play store call "Ex dialer"nearly all Xperia u user rate it 5 star.
Correct me if I'm wrong
If you have CWM, wipe cache partition and use Seeder 2.0
This is a ram management problem causes phone to release all apps in memory and then reboots phone I have solved my problem by installing clean master from the play store and after its setup not 1 hang from phone.apk calling out and incoming fine

Finally I got some new results today, after struggling with this problem for months.
First I tried all the suggested methods (clearing the call log, installing all those apps), and none of them worked -- except CWM that I didn't try, because I wasn't root.
What solved my problem, was to do a clean flash (and wipe everything during flashing). The problem was totally gone. Note that "wiping every thing" during flashing is a key thing that I guess last time I hadn't done.
Everything was good until I restored all my backed up contacts -- around 1500 contacts. Then it was laggy again!
Then I again did a hard reset. Problem was gone again. But this time I was lucky enough to restore the contacts, and have my system in a healthy state -- no lags so far! I don't know what was different this time, but it's got to have something to do with the contacts!
I'll keep you updated if I find any changes -- worth reporting.

Just remove any VOIP software you have like viber, skype , etc. I know you might be using them but yeah sony's rom has issues with viber specially which causes this lag.. if u wanna use viber use a cm rom or stock ics, or gb. JB is buggy in terms of 3rd party VOIP support

Is there anything I could do for stopping this? Any parameter to tweak?
Is my only solution to change for another rom not based on cm7?
what rom do you suggest?
I don't know if someone else cares about this issue but I think I've a lead.
I have made a backup of my ROM before the first time this pb occurred. Restoring this backup solved the pb.
Today the pb came back. It occurred because I was short of free space and I decided to clean the cache of each application.
Then the flashing pb - looping in lighting up and returning to black - is now back.
To stop it, I open each application installed on my phone in order to initialize the cache with some data.
No more flashing pb at least for one hour. Finger crossed.

Could you give me some details about this kernel? I'll give it a try...
I think it is a problem with the kernel. You should update them! I suggest dragonnn's "firekernel" beacause it is the most developed one in the moment: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1675023 Just flash it with CWM. You will still keep oc and the custom governors. You can even save battery with this new kernel.
Just let me know if it worked, because it worked also for me! My keybackllights never ever ligthened up radomly again.

How did you trace the guilty application? May be I've something similar but I don't know how to find it out. The problem occurred out of the blue.

Because I had some troubles with Firekernel - free games with my bluetooth - I decided to flash my device with Ace kernel BETA 4 as you suggested.
Since then everything works as a charm!
So it is definitively a kernel problem. Thanks a lot for your help :good:
@kmarci: I installed Airpush detector but there was nothing about Airpush. It's not related to notification.
So I've read the homescreen / re-draw lag posts & Ive tried everything suggested with no luck.
Problem is my GS3 lags constantly, bringing up messages, contacts, app drawer, everything. On the lockscreen the ripple lag is like 2-3 seconds, its getting extremely frustrating. Ive tried checking in OS monitor for a CPU lockup but theres nothing I can see that would be causing it.
Im running Omega V3, Apex launcher, on Vodafone Australia.
The other issue im having is my browser is f/c ALL the time, pretty much everytime I use it, it locks up for about 10 secs then returns to homescreen with the message saying Interent has stopped working.
Have reinstalled ROM twice, its runs super quick until I reinstall apps from Titanium Backup, then it just drags. Would there be a conflict with an app / data from my GS2 backup? Is there a way I can run a log to check? I have Android Assistant, and have checked the log, but im too much of a noob to know what to look for, although it seems to be running a lot of debug lines but I dont know if thats normal..
Thanks in advance.
The restoration of backup sounds like the cause. I recommend you restore the apps one at a time or in small batches. That way you can figure out which app is causing the problem.
my apex launcher is usually fast , but i've aswell that 3sec lag when i push homebutton.but that happens only sometimes.
ive also ticked that option to keep launcher in ram...

Hi all,
I'm using RR 3.0.9 with siyah 4.1.5 by changmin.
I encountered the below issue:
whenever I hold back to kill on whatsapp, after a period of phone on time(eg. 1 or 2 hours at least), the phone freezes, and the only thing active is the power menu to reboot phone. You won't be able to do anything unless you reboot your phone.
Anyone encountered the same issue?

Try this:
1. Use titanium backup pro to freeze all your user apps except whatsapp,
2. use the default launcher,
3. Restart your phone.
4 test if the problem persists.

AFAIK, the device test tests the hardware connection itself as well as drivers etc, so if it's failing I think it's a hardware issue. I'd get it fixed on warranty if I were you. Who's your network?

Have you tried Skype? I mean, you could try it and see if it works there (do a test call), and if it does, it's clearly something with the messenger app and not the hardware.
And, this thread should be in the Q&A section and not general.

Facebook or more Apps problem with bootloader unlocked Sony Xperia Z Ultra (C6806)
After factory reset my beloved C6806 (Sony Xperia Z Ultra ) and unlocking the bootloader through the Sony official unlocking procedure, I found my Facebook, Gmail, SMS and more apps started failing to run. Especially Facebook app, it just worked once after fresh installation. After restarting the phone, the Facebook app was no longer work. The screen kept flashing several times and then exited. I was never able to make it work again.
The only way to reviving the Facebook app was through clearing data in the app (Settings>Apps>Facebook>Clear Data). However, It required login to Facebook again then worked until the phone restarting. The same symptom repeats again, again and again. I am so frustrated because the problem of instability then extended to more apps. I had also tried to install Messenger or old version of Facebook App but there was no luck at all to solve the problem. The phone started running unstable.
I originally planned to install a custom ROM and root the phone in order to resolve the problems. In that moment, I had an idea and guessed that the problems might be caused by the bootloader. The I use Flashtool and lock the bootloader.
Wow La .................. All the problems are solved and no more problem existed.
If you have the same problem with Sony smartphone and the phone is bootloader unlocked, please try to relock the bootloader again. It may solve most of your problems.
Additional note: Some people have mentioned the problem of Xperia For Facebook. This is the hint for me to think about the source of problem coming from the bootloader. Sony's default apps have a habit to check the bootloader status of the phone before running like FOTA Update. No more update is avail for those unlocked bootloader Xperia smartphones. So do not use Official ROMs if you want to unlock bootloader. (However, many apps will stop running with custom ROMs like bank apps or Google Pay.) Please install custom ROMs with unlocked bootloader Xperia smartphone. Do not keep using the Official Version ROMs because this will be your beginning of nightmare.

........calm down. You can't base your conclusion on that vague investigation.
Stock rom is so old and abandoned sony haven't added anything new to it like blocking facebook.
Yes some app developers are starting to block access to rooted devices is different ways.
There is no signs that facebook ie microsoft is blocking rooted devices yet.
But recently google is implementing only a simple block so you cant download the app from play store. But you can simply install the apk manually.
You should try something else first. Like flashing a stock rom ftf. Wiping the whole phone after the unlock including internal storage and sdcards. Even if unlocking wipes the phone.
Hi,
Hopefully I am writing in the correct place about my issue.
I have the Xperia Z2, rooted, bootloader unlocked, CWM recovery.
I flashed the Unofficial PAC ROM by "rcstar6696" and it works fine with tons of features, my problem is that the phone would not lock securely.
I tried to use PIN, Pattern, Gesture locks and they all do not function, the phone will still unlock with slide.
I tried to reset the phone, same thing. I looked all over the forums and could not find anything about this with Z2.
My friend owns a Nexus 5 and I rooted and flashed PAC ROM onto his phone and the Pattern lock works like a charm.
Is anyone facing the same issue? Any suggestions anyone?
Thanks.
EDIT: I have flashed the latest version from 20th of September cleanly and still facing the same issue.
EDIT: after a few resets and wipes, I noticed that when installing/uninstalling apps. The lock chosen works for a limited time (Usually 6 hours) and then stops randomly.
I am still trying to identify if it's an app causing this.
EDIT: ISSUE SOLVED !!
I reset the device one more time with a clean boot, then while setting it up, I did not connect to my google account. I skipped most of the steps, then set the lock screen, rebooted, added my google account manually.
and VOILA ! phone securely locked.
I do not know how my google account caused this, but it seems to be the reason at the moment.

Xposed would cause it, or any mods or tweeaks because pac is framework sensitive which means even simple mods can cause huge issues

Yes of course, but I just flashed it cleanly and no apps whatsoever (except GApps & Stock) , and still the issue is the same.
I even did not change any of the ROM built-in settings and still, no secure locking.
Oh and trust me, PAC ROM is amazing (if it wasn't for this issue) , made me hate every minute I spent in CM and TouchWiz (on my old S4) :good:
Did you do a complete wipe? I wiped all partitions including media before installing pac.
And yes pac is excellent and perfectly stable, only issues I have is nav bar dpi seems to reset after every reboot, but if I toggle say screen timeout via quick settings it changed to what it should be and active display reboots my phone but I don't use it anyway

I'm not sure how to do that, however, I managed to solve it.
And I am facing the same with nav bar and the PACperformance app, it just doesn't stick after reboot.
EDIT: actually, I just tried a few reboots, the nav bar seems to be fine to me, I did however change the icons via "Android L Navigation Bar" found in the xposed downloads. Maybe that caused it to "stick"?
as for the active display, I would like to use it, but I am a pixel maniac, and that feature isn't FHD yet I guess, so I am not using it either for the moment.
