Hello XDA family,
I have a problem
I have a Sprint Evo 4gLTE, I recently installed twrp recovery successfully. Shortly after that, I tried to flash the phone to MeanROM but it did not work. At that point I got stuck with no operating system, access to fastboot and twrp but no way to install a new operating system.
I've tried installing an RUU and it doesn not work.
I've tried different ROMS and it doesn't work.
My phone is unlocked and rooted. WHAT can I do !!!!!!!?????!!!! AAAAAA...!!! lol
Did you make a backup before trying MeanRom?
If you have access to computer and internet you can mount your phone through twrp, download a ROM to your SD card and flash it

^^^^^^this guy is talking that crazy talk!^^^
Try extracting the boot.img file out of the meanbean zip, flashing it through fastboot, then going into twrp and wipe everything but ur internal/external storage, then flashing the zip like normal. I had to do it like that when I flashed meanbean, hope that helps.

i have recently unlocked my 3d via the htc method. I had viper rom and the stock kernel on the phone. I tried to install a new kernel(anthrax infected v9). I wiped the cache and the dalvik prior to installing the kernel, post install.zip the phone is in a continuous loop. Performed wipe of all data. Tried flashing rom and kernel again, it failed again. Asked a couple of friends what might be causing this. Found out my phone has hboot 1.5 that requires flash through fastboot. How do i fix this, please help.
Need to boot in recovery with ADB or GUI app

Get into fastboot by taking out battery then [power+volume down] till it loads. Once there connect to computer and use adb and type "fastboot boot recovery.img" where recovery is the name of your chosen recovery. The recovery file must be in the same folder as the adb.
Once in recovery you can flash anything. Once you have booted a ROM I would recommend downloading flash image gui from the Market and use it to flash kernels or ROM with custom kernel. Good luck. hboot 1.50 makes things just a bit more trickier.
Recovery file could be any where you want "!

NOTE: If you took the latest 651.5 update, you have to stick with kernels that have that as a base (for now).
You are likely not flashing the kernel/rom correctly. See the Guide/flashing notes in my signature for a walkthru that will likely help.
I have a similar situation. Had viper rom up and running and then it just up and quit and now it's in a continual boot loop. I'm no where near a windows CPU that I can use fastboot for the next 40 days. How can i fix with my tablet?

So in other words I'm screwed? Isn't there a way to use my tablet running android to push the boot image to the phone?

Can't tell you the exact steps, but.... If you can copy a new ROM to the sd card, can you flash that in recovery? Or, you may have to go back and flash a stock RUU via hboot and re-root. Those are a couple of emergency steps I've had to do in the past.

also no matter what i do in recovery it just restarts by it self and starts over thats why i can flash any thing and i noticed if i do a full wipe it does not do system
Are you using format all except SD card in 4ext? Cwm will not format boot or system partitions.

I did do that in 4ext and soon as it started it would reboot then try to boot up finally had to use a ruu and start all over and it worked thanks for all the help and earlier when I tryed a ruu it would fail but finally worked

So I tried to use this website to get dumlock. But I ended up stuck in recovery mode. Everytime it boots it boots in recovery mode. How do I get out of it? I am s-on and my bootloader is unlocked and I have 4ext recovery.
Make sure smart flash is enabled in 4ext
-its in one of the menus
Wipe all your partitions except SD
Reboot recovery
Flash a new ROM or restore backup
I believe 'dumb lock' is a feature of twrp

I enabled smart flash, wiped all partitions except SD, rebooted recovery. By flash do you mean install the zip file and reboot? Sorry Im a bit new to ROMs
I sent you a pm
Yes after you reboot recovery
Install zip from SD
Alternatively you could restore a backup, assuming you made one

Hello,
I was attempting to install Meanbeam.
Evo -LTE of course. I did the back up and the factor wipe then in TWRP, choice install and selected the rom from the sd card. The problem is that it has be "installing" now for about an hour and a half. It appears to be froze.
The last two lines are installing update... and formatting and mounting partition...
S- on. I was attempting to following Mikeys directions for S on phones.
At this point is there anything I can do or just let the phone sit longer?
Thanks
Edit. I was able to get it to abort. (somehow, I am not entirely sure) haha
Were you able to get your issue resolved?

If your device is not in an S-Off state, I believe you'll have to flash the MeanBean boot.img booter via the fastboot command. This is what I had to do after achieving an unlocked bootloader and installing a custom recovery, such as TWRP or ClockworkMOD.

MeanBean has a kernel installer built in to facilitate ROM flashing when S-on. You have to flash the ROM zip twice, once to flash the ROM, then again to flash the kernel (boot.img).

Thanks Guys.
I was able to get it to cancel out of the stuck install screen, I am not exactly sure what I pushed to get it to that, but.
I had an older version of TWRP.
I rooted a while ago and was just getting around to flashing a new rom.
Once i upgraded to the new TWRP the install went perfectly.
i flashed a kernel thru flash image gui now im stuck in bootloop i did hard reset formatted internal sd card, i have twrp 2.6.1.0 im s on unlocked rooted and etc tried flashing meanbean still boot looping what am i missing?
You need to flash meanbean twice for the s-on kernel installer to work... If not try the fast boot command if you are near a computer...

i flashed meanbean twice, after first flash it never reboots into twrp to install kernel on second flash still bootloops.
You said you did a hard reset. Maybe you mean full wipe. I would wipe everything except SD cards and start over if you havnt already.
Maybe try fastboot flashing the kernel in case flash IMG GUI is not working for you properly.
Good luck man
